A divided kit can be carried in two pockets (ie cargo pants). There are benefits to the metal container but the extra weight and bulk belong to a backpack or fanny pack and is less conducive to EDC on your person.
Good kit young man. At least you are thinking about your future - everyone should have an EDC kit. I am curious though, with all the restrictions on kids coming to school with dangerous "knives" how do you carry your kit and get it past your principal? Or do you have enlightened teachers? Back when I was a boy, my dad gave me my first knife at 7 and I've EDC ever since. In today's society that would be a no-no.

You should put some water purification tablets in there because water is more important than food. And what is the quarter for? If it's for a pay phone they cost like 50-75 cents.

Merely, LEARN FLINTKNAPPING SKILLS also. Many videos on here to watch. Many sellers of rock. Learn what to do when you STEEL knife gets dull. Be confident on fire starting with stones and friction, if you lose your fire rods. Reduce your kit size, too large. Also..........
i have heard that you can use a quarter, a log, and some nails to catch a racoon...ive never tried it...maybe that is what he needs a quarter for...or maybe its to play ms pac man while he is roughing it down at the arcade?
i have been an ultralight backpacker for about 2 years now and if i could give some sudgestions it would be to loos the magnesuim bar or the fire steel. kee one of them thought. i would keep the light my fire fire steel because it is dependable and light. also i love the idea if the dart head.
pretty nice packed, but I doubt you`re outdoor really often. the magnesium bar is way to big. you can half it wit a flex. and why do you carry an extra striker? where is your LED light? Bic mini? cheers.

get an old Computer harddrive and get one of the dish, you can also sharpen a part of the edge as a knife, this mirrror will never break, guaranteed, and one more thing if you know a doctor or a clinic ask them for a suture, it comes threaded already and keep it sealed to stay sanitized. i can also recommend an all around credit card knife.
nice kit and you can cook in the tin. add a whistle, dental floss, and wire saw. you might see about replacing the razo knife with a bimetal sawz-all blade, with the back edge sharpened into a knife.
