i have the same one z1000 2003 with the side cut pipe but to be honest sound nice but it does not have the power like suppose to everytime i try to whelie i have to put more trottle than before....... but it give a unique looks

Is it safe for the engine to have so short pipes like yours. I have z1000 2008 and I took of my mufflers and now i'm driving without them. Your pipes are just few inches longer.

Best sounding z1000 i've ever heard. I have a 2005 model with sidewinders and it sounds pretty good, but this one is just perfection.

i would think so.. i have a z, ground down an exhaust clamp bolt on the clamp thats holding his side pipes on in a corner. my brother says it makes a nice spark trail tho..

i took off my pipes on my z1000 and its just way too loud.,.... it sounds nice but once you buy a setup its permanent. i like to be sneaky if i can?????for the popo

Got to agree with bigmenace. I have shortened exhausts on my z1000. These bikes have no standard pilion grips or handles, so I reckon any passenger will have a lot omore to think about than a bit of exhaust smoke. Wouldn't want it falling on my leg if we went over though :-)
