People do get hurt by alcohol. But if you do a little research you find that during alcohol prohibition, the danger was even greater. When was the last time you heard of someone going blind by drinking gin? That was common in the past before it was legalized and controlled. By having something illegal you are not controlling it, you are ignoring it. Tons of people are getting hurt because of the illegal status. Right now drug dealers sell drugs to kids, because they are not bound by anything.
