More Colbert Clips from the Daily Show are on the Comedy central site for The Daily Show. They have clips from as far back as 97 when Colbert joined the cast. Check out the This Week in God clips and Even Stevphen. Hell, they are all good!
My favorite clip of The Daily Show ever, (and I used to watch it everyday for a while) has always been when Colbert did these fake commercials. I never thought about them as being anything more than just a little segment, but The Colbert Report as a full show has been the best idea ever. Here we are 5 years later and I'm even more a Colbert fan. Seriously, the feel-good lightness I get after his show has been a huge way of keeping me from taking life too seriously. He has only gotten better.
@fishordie2 I think the person I hate is the person using vulgar language and obscene hypothetical situations to more or less threaten a mere comedian.
@TheRandomm4 It's not older. I had analog cable back then, and so did a lot of other people. I ran this into my DV cam OHCI passthrough to record as a DV stream. It was from a live show. And since I got the camera in 2003, and that show was live, it must be from no earlier than 2003.
This and other ads for the show were actually mock promos for a (then) non-existing program. When Stewart and his production staff were asked to create a premis (sp?) for a new show a couple of years later, they simply decided to turn the fake show into reality. The rest is history :)
This was a joke teaser shown during the Daily Show. Multiple were produced as a joke. Then they started taking this seriously. The rest is history.

i think the colbert report is better than john stewart. colbert has a constant mocking and sarcastic personality.

youre a moron! hahahaha
i wonder if he has the balls to actually say that to her face..
schlafanzyk 2 years ago
You've got the balls if you love his book, and Stephen Colbert loves anything to do with himself, so I'm sure he loves that book very, very much.
GreenHairedKaiba 2 years ago
@schlafanzyk I don't doubt it, he basically did it to President Bush

Colbert report started in 03? Wow, it feels like it was much later than that.
eppinizer 3 years ago
It started in October of 2005. This was just a little fake thing they did on the daily show, which Comedy Central picked up as a real show in 2005.
