Thanks myfriend..! Yes sir that does help ALOT! Lol. I'v got to Ck in to on of these. I'v just an ole 1946 J-3 Cub right now...but thought about cking into the SR Turbo.
That's like saying "watch out, my friend died when he pointed a gun at his head and pulled the trigger."
Every aircraft is safe in the hands of a safe pilot.
Over 93% of all GA accidents is related to pilot error of some type.
Less than 1% of all GA accidents are from airframe failure.
And a Cirrus has a parachute. I'm sorry to say, if your friends died in a Cirrus, then it was the pilot's fault, not the airplane. To prove it, all I need is a tail number...
@joalul You stated that 93 percent of all GA accidents are from pilot error. That leaves a 7 percent chance that his friend died in a Cirrus from some sort of system failure. Get your facts straight before you start pointing fingers.
@athena1976 . Why don't you get your facts straight: That leaves a 7% chance that there was a system failure or airframe failure or ATC failure or weather issue or ...
Shall I go on? AND, as you are apparently not a pilot, the Cirrus has an airframe parachute. So if the flight has an emergency, it can be deployed for a safe "landing."
There have been 45 fatal Cirrus crashes 2001-09: 5 are in preliminary stages of investigation, 39 were pilot error, 1 was undetermined.
@athena1976 ...and, one more thing: Of those Cirrus accidents, 3 had 4 fatalities, and of those, 2 were "pilot's failure to maintain airspeed" (pilot error) and 1 was "pilot's inadequate weather evaluation and continued flight into forecasted icing conditions" (pilot error). If you want to see for yourself, feel free:
WOW, the checklists are in the..... what is that the garmin prespective? Holy crap. What detail is put in the Cirrus aircraft. I love the SR22. Great plane.
They are pretty awesome, but for a little more you can get a piper malibu. A very similar plane in terms of abilities, but much better in all of those aspects.
It's great. My friend that owns it has taken me up a couple of times. It's fast. It's stable. It doesn't feel like you're in a tin can like the Cessna's do sometimes. If you have to the means, I highly recommend it. :)
I was going to DCA and I got to fly the Cirrus SR20! The Sr20 is the non turbo charged version of the G2, but it still has 200HP only 1Hp from High Proformance according to the FAR/AIM. It is fast! Vne is 200.
Yeah, I think hes rigth us Pilots always get fucked. they make th emost important person in the plain have alost no room, but thats because you have so many instruments to look over.

Bro I am 5'8" and i had trouble looking over the Instrument Panel because it was set up so high, but you can't be to tall either. At Flight school we flew Sr20s and alot of the instructors were 5'10"-6' they were fine in the Cirrus. Now if you go to fly a Cessna 152 then you would be fucked that thing is very tiny on the inside.
@uploader1010 im 6 5 and can fit in it....someone once told me there is no airplane you cant fit in...but i found out when i hopped in a CF18 that wasnt true haha
I do Van Nuys to 'Vegas in a 172 in 2 hours 10 minutes give or take. I took a 737 from Burbank To Vegas in 55 minutes. Driving takes about 5 hours... Any small plane will beat an Airliner over short hauls because you leave when you want, you don't wait at the terminal. no baggage waiting...
well if you compare the amount of aircraft out there...Cirrus has almost 4000 out compared to less than a 1000 from Columbia. If you look at the published safety stats, Cirrus actually has a better safety record than Columbia. It just seems that you hear about all the Cirrus accidents and not the pther airplanes.
WOW this thing is AMAZING, I have flown in the SR22NA but never the turbo, I also prefer the Garmin but the Avidyne is simple and easy to use.....Great video Millz keep them coming! :)
I used to prefer the garmin as well, but after having time in both, I think the simpler interface of the avidyne makes it the better choice. As for Col4 vs SR22, they perform pretty much the same under 18000' and the SR22 is more comfortable to me. But there's no doubt that the Columbias are one heck of a machine too!
beautiful aircraft! did you purchase this brand new or used?
what's the average cost/hour on this beauty?

So what does the SR22 G2 set you back..? About one mill or what?
Sergeantsteamer 2 years ago
Cirrus doesn't make the G2 anymore but a turbo GS goes for around $530,000 from the factory. Hope that helps.
