  • Man.. Ben is cool. I like this better than the album version. Real and raw. Mike on a bike is RIGHT!

  • he sounds like a folk singer from the 60's by the name of bob dylan which we need ppl like that in music in a world today in which we dont have

  • If you like Lucero, i think you would like the Drive-by Truckers.

  • Michaelridesabike is right.

  • I would be no guest at the table of the lord

His food is not to be mine

I cursed his name every chance that i could

Reckon thats why im still alive

  • tabs please!

  • un real un real keep the comments coming this is nothing but great!

  • Seriously, who the hell CANT like Lucero?

    Pussies. That's who. hahahaha

  • Me and a bunch of boys from home

January '43, drove out to Pine Bluff and signed on

Went to basic south of Birmingham

Put me on west coast bound train

Spent three days out in San Diego

  • I like the music, and he really seems to pour a lot of emotion into it, but for the life of me, I can't understand most of what he is saying. Can someone at least tell me what the song is about?

  • Lots of friends left behind

But I made it all the way across France

And I fought at the Maginot line

    Road a tank into Belgium

Like them better than the French

Like my daddy, thirty years before

I did my time in a trench

  • BEST song ever. Everytime i hear it makes me want to go enlist.

  • These guys are overlooked so much.

This is the most REAL music out there.

    Amazing songwriting/story telling.

Seriously the best thing to happen to music in awhile.

And please dont reply with" well what about blah blah"

fuck it, my point stands. haha

  • @Michaelridesabike couldn't agree with you more. i've been a diehard fan ever since the first time i heard them.

i've lost count of how many times ive seen them, its been many many years since i discovered them. this song is intense as f*ck. i love everything they do. everything. its breathtaking, its that good. they are totally screwed because they should have been seriously famous long ago.

  • these guys come from the heart and play fuckin brain blowing songs. some of the greatest guys you'll ever meet, they treat me like their own, especially ben and jhon. took me to their dojo and let me sit on stage when they preform...

and preacher said boys he who is killed tonight, will dine with the lord in paridise.

one boy spoke up said preacher come on, eat your supper with us...

  • these lyrics or so right on man, totally.

  • totally, chills every time.

  • great song. great song writer. this sends chills up my spine

  • watched them play it live last night, gives me chills to watch him sing, the guy is amazing. lucero forever

  • He's FROM Arkansas and we all run around with the same crowd. About 4 years ago he played a solo show in my friends backyard and he debuted this song. I cried that night.

I'm from Pine Bluff, which he sings about. This song's about his grandfather (from Stuttgart, AR) going to WWII. It's simply amazing.

  • sometimes words dont do justice. Spirtitual

  • this was the very video that got me completely hooked on Lucero.

    just great story telling.

  • man, mega. just mega. australia is waiting for a tour

  • That was fuckin good man
