This TV show has impacted my life in a way i can't explain, there is so much i have come realize and learn about great men, they are humans who have emotions, flaws and goodness just like everybody. This is one of the greatest episodes.
im not ashamed to say i cried... the bit when the womans interviewed
the woman who played matt's mum's actually real pretty! anyway i never caught what was going on... did she confront matt, disown him or just do nothing?
this made me tear up. that poor guy. please, if anyone ever has a problem like that, talk to someone and don't go the route he did! not everyone is like matt's mother. don't be ashamed of who you are!
Watch Jack and Bobby Episode 1 to learn what the whole series was about. It is not about the Kennedys. Bobby ends up being president in the future and we learn the things that molded him into the man he became. His mother was not religious, but Bobby became religious, etc. This (Episode 10) was the Thanksgiving episode. Think about what Thanksgiving means as it relates to this episode!
Of course this series is not about the Kennedys, but with the names Jack and Bobby, it is not hard to figure out that this is what the series is trying to echo. It is trying to tap into the Kennedy myth and bring a story that's almost reminiscent of the real Jack and Bobby.
this episode really aches my heart, cant stop crying..ok can sb plz explain what Jack n Bobby is abt, i mean the ppl kinda narrating the story, talk abt Bobby like he was a real political icon..am not american,so plz clear it up for me.
I think that the writer really wanted to make a lot of parallels to John Kennedy and his brother Robert Kennedy. JFK was our president and is an absolute icon in America, and Robert was his attorney general and after JFK got assassinated (one of the darkest days in American history) Robert decided to run for president. He would have been a GREAT president. Young, Smart, everything you'd want, but he also got assassinated during the primaries (choose who the candidate for the party is).
Jack is what they called JFK. Bobby is what they called Robert Kennedy (RFK). I guess this is loosely based on that.
So it is a pretty amazing show if you (like me) really love history, politics, and care about JFK/RFK. John Kennedy was one of my idols, and Jack seems like what John would would be like, except they obviously had a different type of upbringing (The Kennedy's came up in a very privileged family).
This episode is just so heartbreaking, through Jack & Bobby McCallister, we can see into the souls of Jack & Bobby Kennedy. Part of me feels like that scene with Bobby watching Jack crying in Grace's arms must have echoed so many of those Kennedy moments of grief and loss.
This is like JFK and RFK's lives being played out on our screens, and every time I watch this, it's a feeling I can never forget.
Jack & Bobby is the story of two brothers and how their lives in their teen years has influenced their future where one of them, Bobby, became the 51st President of the United States.
The story is formed in a documentary-like way where each episode starts out with something that happened during Bobby's presidency and how an event from Bobby's teen years helpe influenced how Bobby would make the decision in the future.
This show is meant to channel the feeling of Jack and Bobby Kennedy.
Continuing JFK/RFK parallels, JFK's best friend since prep school, Lem Billings, was not only gay but had come on to JFK early in their friendship. JFK rebuffed him, but accepted who he was and kept him as a best friend for the rest of his life. Forward-thinking man, our 35th President.
This made me cry! :'(

Well, Bobby became president of the United States. Lots of the ones speaking are his friends, wife, and staff (like the Vice President) and stuff.
I guess he was president in the year 2040, so its almost like there are two stories going along at the same time.
Early in the series you hear the Jack (who was a Congressman which is like a British parliament) was killed in a convenient store robbery I believe.
It is eerily similar to John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy's lives. Jack and Bobby. =)

So does Jack die?
ncPsychosis 2 years ago
Jack does die, it was during the later years when Jack was a congressman. A young man held up a store, Jack was one of the hostages that were killed.
It was Jack's death that put Bobby onto the political path.

he is a presidant
