  • so talented!

  • I think it's great that she can play the piano so well. I would say this young lady has decided to dedicate her life to music. She reminds me very much of the youngest girl in the Marimba Ponys.

  • @OldSenei

Wow...it still looks like you didnt even read one thing I said. Why do they have to "smile"? Just to suit you? It looks like you're just the typical American (or Westerner or whatever it is that you are) that is ignorant of other people's cultures and expect people around the world to conform to your ways :P

    It's okay...you'll get it someday. Eventually..maybe (hopefully).

  • no one is beat or murdered for not winning a beauty pageant..

  • whatever you can do some asian kids will do it better

  • even though i am only 14, if i ever had a child, i would prefer them to play an instrument to a virtuoso level exceedingly early than to have them take part in one of those truly ghastly beauty pageants.

  • OH MY GOD... At first it was like "oh, everyone could do that but THEN... BAM" greato childo!

  • does anyone know where to get the sheet music for this?

  • Wow lot of experts out there on these children. It seems none of you have travelled. Its a different culture which obviously none of you have experienced. Don't always assume everyone else in the world has to be like you!!!!!!!!!

  • If some of you retards think this creepy ,please look at beauty pageants in the good ol USA, where they make the kids look like prostitutes & when they don't win they beat the shit or murder them

  • why do all this children from north korea never look happy when they play instruments?! i mean when you watch stuff like germans supertalent.... they seem to have fun. they seem to enjoy it. LIVE it. not always. but most of the time.

  • @LittleOrangegirl1

Well, it's a different culture. You know, Koreans are known for their "not-smiling" which may seem unfriendly to us. Take a look at Okinawan traditional (classical) dancing, they always keep a straight (often stoic) face. Not everyone has to smile to "enjoy" what is being done. It's just a different culture, that's all. I take classes in Okinawan koten dance. Our faces may seem stoic, but believe, me..we are having enjoying it. We're not all German. It's all in the movement.

  • respect!

  • Asian children are hardworking. She does not understand anything else in politics. She loves music and lives in it

  • So sad. Music can only come alive if you are alive. Her music is... scared, innocent, and empty. A perfect reflection of the cruel world she lives in, and she does not even know how cruel it is.

  • How old is this girl??!! She's AMAZING

  • North korea knows how to let kids develop their talents to full potential which is great, surely in the western world alot of talents get lost duo to the governments not focusing and investing enough in the talented kids.

  • wow this is new robot.

  • It's really good, it really is, but when I see all these Asian kids perform like this, I think: do they have a choice or are they pushed by their parents?

  • .....Why can't I do that?

  • I want this for my iPod!

  • Wonderful, buy oh, oh, oh the music is ghastly!

  • Without doubt, she will also score very well in her SAT test if she was in US.

  • Unbeliveable!!! Beautyful!!!!!!

  • 3 mother fuckers are Justin beiber fans...

  • WOOOOW!!!!!???

  • OHH SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just imagine if they let her play Bach - WOW , that would realy sound great!!

  • Thank you for this performance. I enjoyed it very much. This child plays with great style and confidence. What better thing for a youngster to do than to engage in something as uplifting as this. Incredible!! Congratulations.

  • 0_o

  • Sencillamente hermoso!!!

  • Poor baby... We all know that smile is fake; nobody in NK could be given that true of a chance to shine. I just pray she gets out of there, she doesn't deserve that.

  • @nimartheartsPRS Idiot pray for yourself...stop watching so much TV

  • Bravo? —BRAVISSIMO!

She is so good, that she seems to come from out of this World!

  • nossa q lindo......toca q nem gente grande.....lindooooo

  • Awesome! She is very talented

  • wonderful!BRAVO!

  • Ang galing ng batang ito...MABUHAY!!!!! Wonderful gifted child....i love it..

  • She is wonderful...amazing...MABUHAY!!!!

  • This kid is wonderful!

—Let´s not forget, her piano teachers; they must be excellent, too! ...and, for that matter, those who appointed those teachers to her, and so on, and so on...

This is a good subject for meditation!

  • Continuing from my last comment, below:...and that happened in a supposedly best example of democratic country!

    OUCH!

  • Awesome!

—When I was a kid, about her age, I was studying at a catholic institution, a seminary; one of our most important subjects was "Music". My first mark at that subject was 19, in a scale from 0-20. From then on, I was considered, by many of my colleagues, the most talented student of the class. Later, I went on studying "Harmony" and "Piano"; I loved it! Two catholic priests were my Piano teachers. One day, one of them, beat my fingers, so badly, that I left my musical career for ever!...

  • @jsnovais1000 At least they didn't fucking kill your parents, you internet cockroach!

  • @caseyspaos Hello, cockroach!

  • @jsnovais1000 Where do YOU, a supporter of unparalleled human rights atrocities, get off calling those of us who stand up against the perpetrators of those heinous crimes cockroaches?

  • @caseyspaos Hello!

Instead of waisting your time with nonsense comments, why don´t you invest it, watching some education videos, like "Money As Debt" and "Money as Debt II Promises Unleashed", for example?

There are many more, but these ones are really good; they will explain you everything about MONEY, the Capitalist Private Banking System, and how it became the Heart of Capitalism.

—Then, you will understand why DPRK and I are friends, and why USA is not my enemy; our enemy is Capitalism!...

  • @jsnovais1000 I am fully aware of the evils of the private banking system. Now don't you you think you owe it yourself to educate yourself about the human rights abuses in North Korea? Or do you simply wish to turn a blind eye to it by dismissing reports as nonsense coming from cockroaches? Deny it if you want, but your precious DPRK refused humanitarian aid in the name of "self-sufficiency" while its people sold human flesh in the markets.

  • @caseyspaos Holy cow! If you are aware of the evils of the private banking system, you hide it very well; to hate, so much DPRK, you must be a priest, or something like that; let me say it, you work as one of capitalists´ most faithful agents!—You have acid as blood!..

Do you know what?—You have been brainwashed!

I have done what I could to help you, but you are hopeless! You pretend to see further away than I, but you keep your eyes almost closed and out of focus!

    Please, bother to come back!

  • @jsnovais1000 If you are honest, and really want to know what life is like for North Koreans, why don't you just chat online with a North Korean citizen, since they are all so happy and educated, and financially secure...oh wait. You can't, because the hermit kingdom doesn't allow them that freedom. Why don't you look at the many documentaries and reports from defectors? CAPITALISM?? PRIEST??? What the fuck are you talking about? Give your brainwashed head a shake.

  • @caseyspaos You have already proved that you are a capitalist propaganda agent, and I already said GOODBYE! So, leave me alone, please!—You are the one starving; DPRK People don´t need you; I do not need you! So, go away!

  • @jsnovais1000 I am sorry. You cannot slander someone and then tell them the conversation is ended. It is not allowed. You called me a (giggle) "capitalist propaganda agent". You know nothing about me, and you know nothing about DPRK. You are a pompous cunt, who has his head so far up his ass he won't even look at the evidence! You are a cold-hearted, hateful, ignorant enemy of humanity. Kill yourself and make the world a better place. NOW the conversation is over, you arrogant prick! GOOD-BYE!

  • @caseyspaos I did not want to be impolite to anyone, and I am not going to, now, but you have insulted me, showing your true face!

    So, get lost!

  • @jsnovais1000 How can you smugly go on about ideology, while the North Korean people are suffering from starvation and human rights abuses? It isn't about capitalism, imperialism, communism or any ism. It is about the worst genocide by a leader on his people the world has ever known. PLEASE! Check out the information that has been smuggled out of N. Korea and brought to the attention of the world.

  • @caseyspaos At the end of my response, below, what I have meant, is: please, "DON´T BOTHER" to come back!

—I have much more important things to do, and I do not like to waist my time!

    —Thank you, anyway, and GOODBYE!

  • She plays alright. But when I was 4, I was commitin' verbal murder in the Major 3rd degree. My first music lesson was to Bach. I had more Cock, than Smith an'Wesson. My name is Beethoven Muther Fucker, maybe you've heard of me.

  • Real spirit! I enjoyed this very much as I'm sure she did while playing!

  • it's wonderful! BRAVO!

  • .. ¡¡¡ * MI DIOS*.....TU ALMA ESTARÁ RADIANTE DE ALEGRIAS..CUANDO TÚ ESTAS ESCUCHANDO A TUS NIÑITOS (ANGELITOS COREANITOS ).......!!!!!!

  • It is pretty dum to think that the talent this girl has is due to the political regime. She has sensibility way beyond most mortalshave for music. Please, respect her as a person, and above all, take some time to enjoy her playing, it's just amazing.

  • this is a FENOMENO!!!!!!!!!!!!MI GOD!

  • Learn America! Learn!

  • who is the author of this piece and the name of the piece?!?!

  • @shiadani : My dear Paola, if you look in the intro by clicking "Show more" up in the middle, you 'll have access to the full description of this little genius "Yu Pyol Mi" in English and Russian,

As far as the author of this piece, we don't know, maybe the General himself ?... the song is called "The General and Children"

I think she's now 9 y/o , and you can see more videos of her playing she's wonderful ♥ ♪♫♫♪

  • I play the piano since I had 10 years old and I can't play like that! Its a genious!

  • she looks like she loves what she is doing...very passionate

  • such children appear sinister to me, thats all.

  • How inspiring - unbelievable!!!!! We need this beauty in our world.

  • So who's the one dislike weenie ?? Man, or gal, you have no soul.

  • The child is a virtuoso. Amazing. This is what happens in an environment of discipline and expectation.

  • SPECTACULAR!!!! she's so adorable!

  • @viktorobsust are you serious? really... you think that? do you work long hours have kids who are lazy and think The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is good? I'm going to take a wild guess and say "you do". The repertoire... really?!?! I'll just leave you alone with Schubert and Brahms.

  • omg :D jesus she is amaying

  • In shock!!!! Super Amazing!!!!!!

  • @ bojoartec : thanks alot =) =)

  • can you tell me this song called Полководец и дети (The General and Children) is it russian or noth-korean or something else?

  • @impanim : My gues it is from North Korea and this song make reference to General Kim Jong IL and the children of North Korea !....

  • @impanim Definitly korean song. Russian (English) titles are used for spektators of yotube only.

  • @Inflancki IMO it is so sad there is an inhuman communist regim which celebrates itself with such a trite little song. I was kid in the communist era in Hungary, so I know exactly how these things go on. BTW teh incredible musicality of this cute little girl grabbed a piece of my heart. Good luck to her.

  • Donť you see that she likes it??? I think you are poor! If she has a good life, why not...and maybe she wants to be famous,,,

  • supeeeeer

  • Truly incredible playing...but! What pressure has been brought to bear on this little child; what deprivations has she suffered; how many hour per day per week must this little child sit at the piano....a genius....maybe...but at what cost!! Poor child!

  • Comment removed

  • @Tregillis I can't believe that such a brilliant result can be achieved without true love to music

  • @Tregillis : Why poor child ?....Don't feel bad, she's a very happy girl and have lots of friends; Music is extremely good for developing a child's mind. Odds are this kid will be happier and more balanced than most kids. A kid doesn't get that good without having a strong inner desire to do it. My guess is that her parents have a tough time peeling her away from the piano.

If my child was that good, it would be my obligation that he or she had opportunity to pursue.

  • @bjoartec poor child because she have been forces to do this and because she is so hard drilled to perform like this. what will happend if she plays wrong? probably a concentration camp! she's from North Korea! and the thing with her parents, she don't live with her parents. She have been removed from them to be drilled to play the piano like this so folks like you will se a "good" side of North Korea..

  • @edv119 Her extraordinary understanding and artistic sensibility surprised Kim Yong Mi and other teachers as time went on. She caught 13 and 15 accords, memorized musical scores quickly and mastered musical scores of difficult piano tunes when she performed the piano two or three times. She created more than 20 piano tunes in her kindergarten days.

Yu Pyol Mi was moved to the Kyongsang Kindergarten affiliated to Pyongyang Music School.

  • @bjoartec this @edv119 must be some kind of CIA facts book fan; they do not understand the power of a correct discipline, at any age a human being.

  • @edv119 You're an idiot. You don't know what happens in North Korea so stop assuming it's violence. I hate how some Americans are brainwashed into thinking Communism is Nazism. Communism under Stalin is much different than Communism under the other rulers.

  • @sovietkazakh Excellent answer! Are we supposed to read all the idiotic comments that these Internet cockroaches, or Internet DPRK haters, spit into the air, everyday?!!!

  • @bjoartec Poor child. She lives in the cruelest regime ever invented by humanity. That smile is not real. If she doesn't perform perfectly, and with that fake smile (doesn't it look even a bit creepy to you???) she will be beaten.

  • @caseyspaos: what you are saying is really annoying. This girl is so SO TALENTED and LUCKY. She has special music sense and she has very good environment to develop it. Look at what she has achieved before you say. And I am sure you know nothing about piano. If a child likes playing piano, she will urge to have lesson and never need to push practicing. Her facial expressions are wonderful.

  • @phanthian What you say may be true for another country, but I think you completely forgot what country we're talking about here.

This is NORTH KOREA, she had piano lessons drilled into her. She was most probably taught those facial expressions. 'Lucky' is not the word to describe a person born into North Korea. They put up with utter lies their government feeds into their brain. They have no freedom, they often barely have enough food to eat. The description you described is so very wrong.

  • @bjoartec dont heed these good for nothing youtube critics..these ppl have clicked the link seeing ''DPRK'' and not ''music''...bloody political fanaticists...

  • @Tregillis : Yu Pyol Mi is 6 years old in that video, she's now 9, and well known !... You should check her other videos !...

And also check Gavin George's video and many other wonderful children musicians from all over the world, you'll be amazed to see how many kids fall in love with playing a musical instrument by themselves, check the story of Aimi Kobayashi who started playing before she was 3 Y/O after been enrolled in a ballet class !...

  • @Tregillis yeah but what if she enjoyed sitting at the piano practicing. so according to ur statement, all world class musicians must have suffered from deprivations when they were young? i think not. I'm not near a world class musician but i enjoyed practicing(i practice quite a lot) when i was younger...without pressure nor deprivations.

  • Incredible fingers... she´s great ;)

Not to believe! Amazing, out of perfect technique (bravo to teachers!!!) she is a real musician, congratulations! Isabelle

  • del NORTE! Comunista ¬¬

  • wow

  • An absolutely astonishing talent you have dear pretty little Yu Pyol Mi. Such a tiny girl and so beautiful and wonderfully expressive and emotional to go with it. There is no doubt that as you have this incredible ability at such an early age you will rocket into the hearts of the world and challenge the best in the not too distant future. You have already rocked into my heart and I am going to award you a galaxy of stars just to start with.

    Lalita

  • @Lalitamusic Indeed, the virtuosity of this little girl is absolutely amazing and breathtaking. What bothers me in this production was simply interpreting a song of admiration of a North Korean dictator.

Anyway I sincerely hope that we can offer the latest interpretations of great musicians and her love for music ...

  • @Aimiklingsor93 I am in shock too! How do you discover this genius, Patrick!!!! Thank you for letting me know we'd better not worry to learn piano anymore, haha.

  • Totally outstanding!!! I was blown away by your performance completely...
