Well this is nothing new the "cheap" accordions which are made by "so called professionals" that don't know what to use and make it proper. The sound of the reeds tho surprise me as most reeds are so "hard" and solid they produce a deep sound but mostly don't go bad. I've seen enough of these accordeons so... if ye need more information feel free to send me an email. The treblekeys are worse then on a 60 year old italian chromatic so... yeah that really is bad... wow.. thanks for sharing.

Sounds like most Chinese accordions.

I usually spend anywhere between 1-4 hrs working on them before they go on the shelf. Low bass reeds (Keyboard) are usually bad and have poor response. The left side can be improved with a bit of gapping and replacing funky valves. You pretty much get what you pay for.

The chromatic button models are a problem ,as there is often a lot of lash in the keyboard, and it is hard to adjust, and very time consuming to do so.

Do you really believe the average Joe will even understand what you think is wrong with this instrument by simple poking at the keys, push/pull the bellows, and putting some arrows on a couple photos? This was a waste of time.

I have had one for 3 years now.. still no problems...

you would be far far better of with the same configuration golden cup accordion, they are made way better, and sound way better.... night and day difference.... and the price is so much less... the honica although made in china is not made by GC.

For best quality and affordability, I recommend Euro-Chinese accordions. My suggestions are Ginelli and Hohnica. For concertinas, I recommend Concertina Connection. I also noticed a change in management at Golden Cup and a revamp of the product line. You should experience an improvement in quality on some Chinese instruements. The battle against child labor is likely to continue on.

Despite Golden Cup's history bum rap as you all here commented and described, I noticed an improvement in quality on similar accordions. I bought a Ginelli 96-bass, 5-row chromatic button accordion at a local music shop in late summer of 2006. The accordion I own, similar to that one, feels a lot more solid and well put together than the one in the video. There are European companies that design the accordions like mine and farm out assembly in China.

After a long shipment, it is possible for any accordion to require some adjustments... Even the great Petosa, recently arrived needing some adjustments..

Many name brand European accordions are being made in China.

If this is how you received your "new" accordion, than that is just plain garbage! I haven't serviced my accordion in years and the mechanism on the right and left have the same issues which you demonstrated in your video. I recommend you stick with European branded accordions (German, Austrian or Italian).

I own two full size piano accordions made by Goldencup, one of them I play every day for a few hours,, I choose this accordion to play for its feel and tonal qualities.. both are bright and rich in harmonic content.. they are spot on -in tune- one of them is almost two years old... not one single problem with it... In the last year, I have had over 20 GC PKAs in my house,,, from very low cost ones to full size, only one bad reed.. and I did it on stage by really playing harder than anyone should

Noone can expect cheap accordions from China to have same quality as much more expensive accordions made in italy.

But it doesent seem that the Chineese are honest people.

On the big musicmesse in Frankfurt, they shows accordions that are very good, compare to the price. When ordering from them, they send you an accordion that is far from this quality. Often its direct unplayable.

Bonjour, j'étais déjà convaincu du bas niveau des Golden Cup, en ayant déjà eu plusieurs entre les mains. Les accordéons diatoniques sont pires encore (si, si, c'est possible !).

On en a pour son argent : un diatonique qui est vendu 60 euros en Chine, vendu 250 ou 300 euros sur ebay, l'arnaque n'est pas qu'en Chine ! Encore une fois, on en a pour 60 euros, 'faut pas en demander plus... mais les gens qui vendent "ça" en faisant 5 fois la culbute, ce sont des voleurs, sans aucune morale !

I was already convinced by the ultra low range (cannot speak of quality) of these Golden Cup ""accordions"". The diatonics are also like this, or even worse (yes it's possible)...
