  • Julia, you are beautiful and smart. I feel like your experience with bullying, while bad for you, is not quite what bullying is today, Trust me you were lucky.

  • Most bullies bully because they don't like that person - no jealousy ect. take it from a first hand victim........

  • I've been bullied non stop about my looks pretty much my whole life. I've had cosmetic Surgery too, to try and "cover up" and I have improved but I'm still incredibly insecure about the way I look. Love your videos btw! I'm sooo gonna sub! :)

  • I used to want to look like a supermodel but my perception of beauty has changed entirely. now I find that the most attractive women are those who look healthy and fit. and , yes, a person's character absolutely defines the way they look!!!

  • @heatherzhy Being bullied/abused yourself, I am sure you know that nobody can fully understand your own situation. I think it is unfair to say someone else's situation doesn't count. You are blessed to have found help and understanding through the support of others. Spread that support and understanding to others. =]

  • Maybe that boy had a crush on you,

so he made fun of you to get your attention.

    Because you're beautiful. <3

  • Great discussion, seems that we've all had to deal with bullies. Great advice for young girls !

  • I think you should subtitle this type of videos for the people who doesnt speak english

  • @heatherzhy Bullying comes in all different forms; just because her experience wasn't as "bad" or as "severe" as yours, doesn't mean she wasn't bullied, necessarily. If she was made to feel worthless, or dread at going to school because of the bully's comments, or any other negative emotion, then she was bullied.

  • Hi Julia, today I voted for you again

  • You help me a lot !

  • You need to do a tutorial on your makeup!

  • I feel ugly at times :(

  • hello pretty i already voted 4 u!!! u r awsomeeee!

  • All this because a queer kid in NJ commits suicide over "bullying".Only liberals would try to take the accountability out of suicide If this kid was happy about who he was,he would not have killed himself. I'd let any1 videotape me getting it in with a girl. And for all you intellectuals out there, suicide, dictionary: The action of killing oneself intentionally. Stop blaming stupid people. People who commit suicide do so as a choice. Teach people how to stand up for themselves, not be sissies.

  • I have gained an immense amount of respect for you :) You are a very good person <3

  • Thank you so much for those 12 minutes and a half of nice words ...

  • I want to also add, for those being bullied...be ASSERTIVE! Stand up for your rights as a Human Being, or for any Being! (pets, animal incl.!) You are worthy, you are meant to be here, and your rights and freedoms are guarenteed!

  • Very insightful! I'd like to think that some of those troublesome bullies are maltreated at home, but sometimes the truth is they aren't. Quite a few in this generation now, are just plain narcissists and some both have the distinction of being sociopaths as well. I call it the, "Jersey-Shore-Show,Unreality-Reality-Syndrome!". It's scary that our future generations feel so entitled, so privileged...and egotisical. I say this with a sense of disdain for my gen too; and, I'm 34...! haha ;)

  • awsummm --- Sent From MissChievous's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • Bravissima, Julia! Well done.

  • Not all bullies have issues at home ...

  • @Misslittlelapuzlazul is that all you took away from the video? :(

  • @Misslittlelapuzlazul It's really common, though. Bullies tend to either have issues at home or social issues themselves. Then they bully whoever is the easiest target to unleash their own frustrations. It's called scapegoating, and it goes way further than just bullying. (If you think back to the Rodney King riots and WHERE they took place, that's scapegoating.)

  • @tormlen I know that it's common, but I just don't think one should assume that someone has issues at home, or other social issues. That's all.

  • @LoeweGrr behindert ?

  • Really nice vid, Julia. It's so sad that the bullying thing is getting worse and worse meaning that people don't care and just go and say random stuff that can hurt many others. Here in Serbia we have a lot of those...

  • I know that...everyone's saying that beauty comes from inside and what you are inside reflects on the beauty that you have outside but...what about those extremely beautiful woman that act like stupid bitches? in what category are they? I'm just thinking... P.S: you are so beautiful and you really deserve to win. I like all your videos equally and not a single one less....You are a great person and if you keep doing this as good as this I think you really CAN change something in this world

  • it was macbarbie07 who started it so u shouldlink her one in the description box

  • juliai think you must be one of the most sensational people out of everyone i know. most people tend to think of makeup artists as superficial, but you go out of your way to prove that you're different. true beauty is inside and out, and you've really mastered both aspects. i commend you for being so strong, and for speaking up and making this video! so thanks for being so amazing(:

  • ich liebe deine videos. mach weiter so. kannst du eine review von deinem AMU machen?

  • no matter how beautiful you are if you are ugly on the inside it reflects outside too :)

  • i was bullied at school too cause i was overweight didnt take care as much of myself like makup and stuff i was more into reading and having good grades..

now that i am over that(that was like 10 years ago) i feel sorry for them...they didnt get anywhere in their live i did and i lost the weight too. :)

  • Not sure if this was answered already but what nail polish are you wearing??

  • I'm surprised you didn't cover the YouTube haters angle. It seems to me the gurus get bullied a lot! Thanks for your time and beautiful efforts.

  • I remember being bullied very badly by this boy in middle school (fyi I'm a girl). I think everyone was scared of him&he use to like to sharpen pencils really sharp&stab kids on the side...boy or girl. ppl would just laugh like it was funny, but I knew they were playing it off.One day in class he tried doing the same to me,but I pushed him&walked away.He got mad&pushed me on top of the table & started hitting me...middle school was definitely the worst:/ too many ghetto kids& I was very naive

  • I was bullied all the way through school until Highschool. Mostly because of my last name "Running Hawk". It was sad but now I'm glad times have changed and the kids these days think my kids' last name is cool. --- Sent From MissChievous's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • Julia you are so awesome, I hope you win the prize to go to New York, good luck! I am voting for you because you deserve it for being such a lovely person and it is my way of saying thanks for all the make up videos you do on Youtube! Those videos make me happy and special when I try them out myself!

  • I was bullied and when I was getting bullied I told the principal and he wasn't going to do anything until my mom told him she would contact the newspapers if he didn't do something. So I got my class that I had with her changed she still gave me problems but it was abit easier. I'm also going to a new school this year where the people accept you for who you are. So to anyone that is getting bullied stay strong life will get better. Great video!

  • : ) --- Sent From MissChievous's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • Over the years and with the different types of bullying i've experienced (bullying towards me)... the worst kind of bullying is from someone who is your gf/bf, especially if you have been with them for years. Psychological bullying is the worst form of bullying. People who do that to someone who loves them and who they have lead to believe loves them back, deserve to be castrated/spayed/made infertile.. because this world doesn't need their stupidity spreading.

  • Great video, I agree with out on pretty much everything. You seem like a smart and genuinely good person. I love you and I really respect you <3

  • i dont know any german and i voted! :) good luckk :)

  • @necranomiconexmortis Well DUH. its a talking video what do you expect?

  • You should not feel sorry for the stupid one who bullied you. He was a sucker and he still is probably.

Bullies are bad people no need to feel sorry for any of them

  • @heatherzhy she said sort of

  • I'm feeling exactly the same way you did about not being able to find a job. Its been 8 months for me and although I worked at part time jobs, I haven't found my ideal job yet. I feel so incompetent! Especially going through the 4 years of uni. I can't wait till this phase of my life is over .

  • "The more you look for flaws, the more you're going to find them", i just loved that phrase. I totally agree with you, Julia, about everything. It's so nice that someone who's profession is about physical beauty, be that spiritually evolutioned (if it's allowed that expression in english). You're such a nice person :) Congratulations! Kisses from Argentina! :)

  • done :D I'm in a horrible bullying situation T.T I cried all day but I'm scared if I told my parents maybe they'll get angry. My "friends" make me feel poor and insignificant but I don't know, maybe I deserve that because they give me a lot of reasons I think personally that the things they told and write me are worse than physical hits. I feel alone in this world, I don't know what else to do, I do all they ask me for leaven me alone but I don't know why are the unhappy

  • @vmoctezumacampillo garbage YOU DONT DESERVE ANY OF THAT!you are surrounded by a bunch of jerks who dont care about you. as much as it might suck, you have to DITCH these people because they arent having a healthy impact in your life. dont give them the satisfaction of letting them know that they are hurting you...just ditch them and work on believing in yourself and being happy and soon you will be surrounded by loving caring people (: forget them...they honestly are probably jealous of you.

  • @vmoctezumacampillo I think you should talk to your parents maybe change the school or something. You dont deserve to feel like this.

  • thnks for sharing ur answers...hopefully ull win.. --- Sent From MissChievous's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • I got nothin but love for ya Julia, I watch your vids (when theyre in ENGLISH), but this is not good advice, its textbook advice. It sounds like regurgitated advice handed out by every PSA and school assembly ever done. My advice is always simple and totally stolen from Stone Cold Steve Austin..DONT TRUST ANYONE. The only way to deal with those that are trying to take from your soul is to feel the fire in it burn so high that it give you the strength to rip thier souls from thier rotting corpse

  • this isn't really related to the video but I love your makeup, do you have any tutorials for this look or a similar look? :)

  • Telling an adult that your being bullied doesn't solve shit. I've seen kids report bullies, and the bullies would just deny it and then torment the kid even worse the next day because he is a snitch. Real bullies don't care about consequences. I got physically bullied in middle school (Punched in the face, tossed to the ground), The one time I tried to fight back he over powered me and it just made the situation worse (Believe it or not, not all bullies are wimps).

  • @TheWejdin All bullies are cowards! strength doesnt comein muscles only! if you go around picking fights with people you think yo can beat, you are a coward! bullies usually are bullied at home and come from broken homes! Hurt people..hurt people! meaning, people who are hurt and damaged try to bring others down, if thats not cowardly, i dunno what is! notice how u said "Torment the kid" bulies go after the child who is alone, because they are spineless and despicable.

  • @markee871 "strength doesnt comein muscles only!" This is true. Strength also comes from ones ability to cement there position in a group. I cant speak for others, but based on my observations bullies tend to be the "alpha" male/female of the group. This can only happen through an individuals ability to project power and strength to those around them. Those who are bullied lack this ability and therefore are weaker in all forms of strength.

  • @TheWejdin I beg to differ. Because a bully needs "Attention" to thrive, a strong person doesnt need an audience. Bullies need to pull stunts and shows. Thats not the definition of strength. A strong person stands up even if theyre standing alone. Bullies need that validation from other people's cheering and "thumbs up? they back down when people stand up and say "NO" everyone has the power to fight, some people justt dont know they have it, doesnt make them weaker at all

  • @TheWejdin I agree with markee871!! very wise words!!! it is a strong person who follows truth justice love beauty.. all the good in the world.. it is def a week person, a week character who follows greed, power, inflicts hurt and pain.. these people are damaged, and seek the wrong things to boost themselves.. those who are strong of character can have empathy for others and love because they dont seek outward things to make them happy, they work on the inside first.

  • Great vid, well said! :) x

  • I've always been rather unhappy with my body because I'm so tiny. I'm 19 years old and around 89 pounds, and it makes me feel bad when girls that are skinny still want to lose weight.

  • thanks for sharing your answers with us. --- Sent From MissChievous's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • I love it. I'm short and skinny so I was bullied a lot. I've always had low self esteem, but I'm not trying to love myself just the way I'm. I believe that once you've excepted yourself for who you are it helps you relax and enjoy life more. Everyone has their own definition of what beauty truly is, and I guess it's up to us to prove that all types of shapes, color, and size are beautiful because of there uniqueness.

  • Another thing about physical beauty is that not everybody finds the same things beautiful. Some like glasses, others don't, some love muscles, other prefer another bdy type and so on. The point is that even BEAUTY IS SUBJECTIVE.

  • 59 people are assholes!!.....Julia you inspire me and I love your amazing spirit.Always remember that you are love by many and haters are your biggest fans.

  • Check us out for everything hair & fashion!

  • Imagine a world where everyone was born plain. If they are nasty to people they gradually turn uglier and if they are kind to people they turn more and more beautiful. That would be amazing! xx

  • Good video Julia.

That's great that your confidence stems from your accomplishments and not strictly on how you look.

This is one lesson that young women need to learn early on.

If we place whether or not we feel self-confident soley on how we look, we are certain to fall into a trap. Looks change as we age, one has to look deeper.

I agree completely - build your self-esteem from your successes, your accomplishments, your talents, how you treat others etc..

  • I've constantly struggled as a teen myself with my skin issues. Especially in middle school i was always very insecure and wanted to layer on pounds of makeup to cover up acne and whatnot. I'm now a sophomore in high school and I've only just begun to feel comfortable with going out with no makeup on. it's definitely something that's hard to get over, but once you do, you feel great!

  • Your bangs needs to be trim, it's kind of annoying when you constantly keep touching them.

  • I just graduated college and had to move back in with my parents because I haven't yet found a job. Sometimes it is very hard to stay motivated to find something after so many people turn you down. I'm glad that others are going through or have gone through the same thing!

  • Voting for you everyday(:

  • This was an excellent video, I truly hope a lot of insecure girls out there will see it and learn something about confidence and inner beauty. Your sentence "The more you're looking for flaws, the more you'll find them" is completely true (I know it from personal experience). Brilliant video, I do hope it makes an impact on others, because it really made me to reevaluate my attitudes about beauty :)))

  • Voting for u is the least to do for a person who inspires us <3 good luck xxx

  • Hello Julia! Astounding video! Your words of comfort and confidence inspire all of us. Love You! :-D

  • Hi Julia, i really wanted to vote for you but i cant understand a word in german on facebook.

  • @passionxxxxx The instructions how to vote are under this video, please have a look, it's so simple :) Thanks!

  • I love this video becauseI feel the same, I love make up (i'm a beautician) and it helps me to be more confident but the most important is the "inside beauty" !

Thank you for your kindness <3

  • I love you Julia, you're a great personality ;)

  • everyone, julia, please checkout my food shopping in florida, usa.

goto;you tube and search pi3vo thanks, mikee --- Sent From MissChievous's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • Hey Julia!

Dein Video hat mich sehr berührt, mir gefällt es, dass du so offen über Schönheit und ihre Vergänglichkeit geredet hast. Mach weiter so!

  • telling a teacher doesn't unfortunately bring anything very often. Sometimes it ends just in more bullying :-( But thumbs up for this video!

  • meet up in Zurich!

  • Great video ! :)

  • I love you, Julia! :) <3 This really felt like listening to a friend! :)

  • These reaction options are so limited...what's the point of this bar anyway?

I actually went through a similar stage in late middle school throughout my time in high school, however it did not end so well. Blah, and well it depends on the situation if you should tell someone or not for help; either way it eats you out and you move on however your result.

  • Oh yeah, I can totally relate to the not being able to find a job thing. It's worse these days too with the whole recession mess and difficult job market :(

  • kids are sometimes really cruel..

  • thankyou julia. this video shows your genuinity and your down to earth nature. you are an inspiration

    xx big love from australia

  • i would vote if i didnt have to do it on facebook. dont want to register on FB. Too many YT gurus want us to get on FB for something or another

  • Its always so easy to say "tell a teacher if ur bullied at school" but unfortunately it's actually really hard. I mean it's not like you're gonna sit with ur teachers for one and a half hour at lunch :S

  • @ZehnterMuharam Oh, I love it when you DO tell the teacher when you are being messed with, THEN THEY DO NOTHING and call you a tattle-tale. Go fricken figure. That's how my school was. When I was younger, no one believed me and let me get hurt.

  • @X311Tifa wow I'm sorry to hear that. I really hope ur doing better now (yn) : )

  • @ZehnterMuharam Thanks! I am and it made me a stronger person. In fact, I would tell my parents what happened and they would ream the school a new one for me. Go figure, eh? I was ALWAYS in trouble for things I didn't do. That stopped once I left my puny Lutheran grade school and went to high school.

  • this is a graet video <3 you're such a great inspiration and role model!!

  • When I was in 2nd grade I was considers the " popular" one all of the girls were my friends and now that I'm in 7th grade all the girls dislike me because of how many boys like me....... I find it stupid that people don't want to be my friend just because of my looks.

I am not bragging I just find it dumb of how stupid people really.

I've never even bullied anyone before and they still hate me.:( :(

  • ur beautiful :) thank u i loved the video :D

  • I think I'll do this tag because it's something quite important. I have been bullied most of my life so i know perfectly well how important it is to shout out this kind of message.

Thank you so much for doing so yourself, I agree with you in pretty much everything you said <3

  • great video! :) <3

  • YOU SAID ALL OF THIS SO WELL AND I APPRECIATE THAT!!!!!THANKS<3

  • does anyone know what music is playing at the start? Thanks for responding!

  • I am going to challenge myself to look for the beauty in others, not like physical beauty though, but more about their character and the person they truely are. I wanna see if I can change my perspective on what's truely beautiful <3

  • great video!

  • What is your career?

  • thank you for this video :) my fav video of yours :)

  • thank you for this video :)

  • aw this is such a fun tag i wanna do it know!!

  • 8:00 i agree completely!!!!! im 13 and when i first started 7th grade at my new school, i met some new people and there was this girl, she was really pretty and seemed kind of cool at first, but after i heard some of the things she said to/about some people i was just so shocked!! and it turned me to a whole new perspective on her and some of her friends too!!!

  • great video a good reminder to all :)

  • --- Sent From MissChievous's AppRats (Facebook App)!

  • This video really helped me. Body image has been a real struggle for me. It's hard for me to hear someone say that its whats on the inside that counts when you are seeing all these magazines with the most beautiful bodies and not the most smartest or talented women. I know i'm not ugly but I do feel inadequete. I always think about how much better life might be and how much better i might be treated if i looked like a model. Idk,just a rant :/

  • My favorite quote is from Dr Suess... “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

  • Every bully, has a bigger bully at home waiting for them.

  • You know what I love about you, Julia? That you aren't superficial. I find that so many beauty gurus on youtube may be pretty and they may be skilled at makeup, but they honestly don't have a lot of deep thoughts, and I love that you do this. It is quite easy to see that you are very intelligent and sincere, and besides that I love the makeup you wear! Keep it up. You are looking great, being awesome!

  • I was bullied a little in elementary school. I told my mom about it and she got mad at me! :( like it was my fault I was being bullied. I just shake my head at the way she parented back then. it's funny...but, not. lol

  • being a model you seem to pick out more things that are bad about you like getting botox, nose jobs, breast enlargements/reductions to make your-self more 'pretty' when they have just ruined there natural beauty!

  • I find you even more beautiful after watching this video. Thanks for sharing...

  • Omg you're soooo right ! And no one should focus on phisical beauty because as we get older, we lose it. We can do beauty stuff and have fun ith this if it's a way to be happy, but we should not focus on that. Like in the song Price Tag : "Got your shades on your eyes and your heels so high that you can't even have a good time...". I love makeup because for me it's just like a modern art. I see it like painting or drawing, not like a necessity (except for concealing my dark circles haha :D).

  • love your outfit hair and makeup!!!

  • It's so important to be the best, most honest version of you that you can be, because someone will always be prettier or smarter or richer... But no one will ever be YOU. Julia, I love your channel for the excellent advice you give. : )

  • Thanks for making this video and sharing your answers.

  • I'm so glad you did this video. These are things I've been thinking about a lot. For instance, I LOVE makeup and makeup time is like play time to me and I like to look presentable, but lately I've been spending way too much money on things that have to do with my appearance and I keep having to remind myself that there are other things that are more important to me and that I'm here on this earth for more than just to try and look pretty. lol.

  • @NaomiIsSoAwesome98 im guessing her name is Naomi.

  • what does cleeky mean

  • @PinkHeartsPolkadots it's cliquy, as in "cliques" or gangs...meaning groups of people that hang out together and don't let strangers in easily

  • i like what u said about someone being nice can make someone beautiful. ur absolutely right, some people are in awe over those that are beautiful but they can have the WORST attitude lol so true...

  • AMAZING VIDEO!!! Wow I'm so happy about my life right now... like this girl in my class she is SO pretty and every guy wants her... something that won't happen with me lol but I know that she hates her mom and she just isn't close about her family it's so sad... she also calls everyone a "n" word because she thinks she's cool... I HATE racism!!! Like you said, that just destroys her beauty.

  • love this eye look...and it matches your nails! =)

  • I am proud to be a nerd :)

  • Thank you so much for this video, was realy nice to listen to you, would love to listen some more :)))) lol

  • I come from a home where my mom always looked at the negative and made flaws bigger then they needed too be. Growing up I saw my mother always calling herself fat, or ugly. In return I always felt over weight even though I was under weight, still till this day (age 26) I have a dysmorphic view on myself because of my childhood. However I am trying very hard too over come that. I hope that parents can think before they say certain things b/c I know it rubbed off on my own confidence a lot

  • I LOVE your eyebrows please do a tutorial(:

  • @TastesLikeSabrina

she has one it's called how to get awesome arches

  • tongue piercing ? kewl :3 you are amazing and very inspirational . :)

  • the mean girls are still mean but they are ugly now too. back then it seemed like no matter what i did i could never compare to them but it turns out they were jealous of me! now, even though they havent grown up, i have. "kill 'em with kindness" its hard but do it and you'll see results you maybe even never expected!! :))

  • also, ive been bullied before and i really liked to share it with u.

  • i really wanna do this tag. i think its great and one of the best tags out on youtube that doesnt just focus on whats on the outside but whats on the inside that truly matters. Also, i just recently had a very ignorant comment on my video and i havent let it bring me down so i really wanna do this tag and show people to not let bullys hurt you with there words.

  • @mandykq18 post it as a video response if you do it :)

  • fast forward to three years since we'd all seen each other and things have changed but are still exactly the same! we've matured and gotten over ourselves. it doesn't matter that we havent spoken in years, we're still there for each other. that kind of friendship takes a lot of time to develop and a lot of hard work but if you put in the time the people you really care about will care about you

  • I sometimes find it odd that outsiders (meaning people who are not from our group of friends) don't think my friends are as attractive as I find them. Thus proving that beauty does come from the inside. I really think I find them so beautiful is because I've gotten to know what good people they are :)

  • where were u born? just wondering because i think u said something in one of ur videos that u arent born in switzerland. also i really think u are beautiful inside and out. sometimes i wish I had more confidence and feel good about myself!! its hard when ur in ur 20s!!

  • I wanna be your friend in person. <3 your so inspirational.

  • i'm glad you did this. :)

its nice seeing someone talk about this from an older persons perspective instead of a teenager who's going through this.

you can look back and think i could have done this, or not done this. etc . :)

    thank you.

  • i like this video a lot! if i had seen something like this when i was younger i still dont think i wouldve believed a lot of it! i was stuck in this cycle of constantly being really mean to my circle of friends and them to me. we'd always pick on each other and looking back, however awful it was, it made me so much stronger as a person. of course it would've been nice had it not ever happened, but it did and i handled it the best i knew how.

  • all comes in place, and none of that really matter...when you got recognize for ur good work, none of that really matters...thank u for ur sharing...

  • love and health are the most important things.when you got a spécial someone that loves you,for who you are, then all comes in placés.

  • thanks for sharing!

  • You are very smart, thats why i love to watch you :)

  • so beautyful eyes and nails wow
