Can still be a great party.....just get rid of the pretentious diva dj's bring back michael feirman, warren gluck, or any other dj that remembers the saint. Unfortunately the likes of JR V, don't realize what the Saint meant to a lot of people in NYC, but myself being from Texas and being a DJ, the Saint inspired. I have been a dj for 30 yrs....i could have done better than JR and some of these others! It a shame MR V has an ego bigger than the Roseland! I
I've been to 17 Black parties, been a member of the original Saint for 5yr,it's all about money for the owner of the SaintatLarge doesn't care about the music, he has alienated the surviving original DJs of the Saint: Robbie,Warren &Michael
TO mkr0707:I agree with u 100% the name of Roy Thode, Shawn Buchanam & Terry Sherman were the High Priests of the Temple of the Dance; we,the dancers of this private club paid Homage to such Anthems under the Dome!
If you insist on Slandering the good name of the "owner" of the the saint at large, at least have the courtesy to refer to him by Name. Stephen Pevner. it is not about the money. it is about bringing new life and young blood to the parties. I appreciate what it takes to put a party like the Black Party together, And it takes the heart and soul of the people who spend their time and energy to create an experience for you ungrateful partyers that is both unique and elemental.
Dear Jairito82 please take note: Slandering.= Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation.
FYI: I happen to know Mr Pevenr and I have talked to him with regards to this "new DJ/Music, new blood...."I have been very candid with him as far as the money making ...;I alson knew Bruce Mailman. so there 's NO FALSE STATEMENT OR HARM TO HIS PERSONALITY in statements "ungrateful partyers" :I haven't been to his events in 10 yr.-so there's nothing 2 b grateful for!
If these clips are any indication of how bad the music was, I'm glad I didn't go. I even heard Alegria sucked the next night too. What has happened? Don't you all remember how awesome the parties used to be?
at least one abba song gets played at every black party. its tradition and the songs have a certain edge to them: the visitors, lay all your love on me
Abba was played regularly at The Saint. The 1983 Disconet remix of Lay all your love on me was an Anthem! DJ's like Roy Thode, Sharon White, Howard Merrit, John Ceglia, played it regularly. Any party bearing the name of The Saint would be remiss not to play at least one song by Abba.
it's too bad the quality of the recording is kinda bad. but the music was just MAGICAL, FABULOUS. i couldnt believe it. and this one felt just like the cherry on the cake. totally seamless. EXCELLENT. i was totally flying on the dancefloor. i thought the madonna single was kinda tacky, but this abba song was just perfect.

I agree! I went to the Black Party 2009. The music really sucks. It does not worth more than $100.
