Mean? Not hardly. Telling someone God's truth and showing them the path of salvation, and holiness and righteousness is not mean, it is the true definition of love. I would have to hate you to say that homosexuality is alright. When I tell you it's wrong and point to God's Holy Word and pray for you and direct you in His ways, that's love. Hey glad your Christian that's great, but if you read the bible it clearly says one man should not lay with another man as one does with a women, it also says to multiple. Religion is man made, so simply read the bible. Many different churches have different rules from each other, they have additional rules added to the bible, so don't follow extra rules just follow exactly what the bible says nothing more and nothing less, if you keep praying for the gay away, then I promise you God will help.

Sexual orientation has to do with who you are attracted to and who you are comfortable with. Also take into consideration rape. @amaria164 I actually think that this young man looks quite sober, and he seems to be responding to a very negative emotional experience he's had with some Christians in a very even-keeled and calm way. It isn't mocking at all, even if a person did believe that homosexuality is a "sin", the Bible says a lot more about EVERYONE being sinful than it does about any specific sin. The targeting of homosexuality has much more to do with the Religious Right than it does with true Christianity.

I just don't understand why people can't separate what the bible clearly calls as sin from the person. God loves EVERYONE. But he hates sin. You can clearly separate the two. Many of the things that disturbed people think today are all outlined quite clearly there, and those actions described are sins. If a Bible isn't handy at the moment then here's the text:

Religion is man made, so simply read the bible. When the bible states homosexuality is an abomination what does it mean by abomination? Does it say anywhere in the bible that having a disease or a malformation is an abomination too? Does abomination actually translate into sin? What if all this abomination hype is because homosexuality was just not God's intention in creation? If we have diabetes or asthma is that God's intention? Is it sinful to have an asthma attack? I have no concrete opinions here just ideas. Please comment!

How can a god possibly be holy if he condemns people for being the way he created them to be? And if God did not create gay people who is he to judge them? It is fundamentally idiotic (self defeating) to believe there is a such thing as a holy homophobe, because homosexuality is clearly not a choice. There is too much evidence that it is not a choice to believe otherwise. Therefore either God is not homophobic, or God doesn't exist.

Try to convert everyone? Isn't their whole religion based on love? Then how is it so easy to see that Christians just like the KKK are not accepting of everyone? Sorry, but yes, gay/same-sex/ homosexual behavior is sin....Jesus loves humanity and therefore preached and advocated the Law and Torah of God. He never taught that it is good for anyone to break the Law,but, rather, he forgave those he sinned and sought repentance (for example, the woman taken in adultery and the lame man). The true proof of God's love and the greatest miracle of God was the atonement & resurrection. God raised Jesus & now anyone who confesses & repents can be FREE from sin

@amaria164 I actually think that this young man looks quite sober, and he seems to be responding to a very negative emotional experience he's had with some Christians in a very even-keeled and calm way. It isn't mocking at all, even if a person did believe that homosexuality is a "sin", the Bible says a lot more about EVERYONE being sinful than it does about any specific sin. The targeting of homosexuality has much more to do with the Religious Right than it does with true Christianity.

I just don't understand why people can't separate what the bible clearly calls as sin from the person. God loves EVERYONE. But he hates sin. You can clearly separate the two. Sin is sin, whether it is homosexuality, lying, stealing, cheating, murder...the list goes on. As an analogy, its just like a child who lies or cheats. A parent is still going to love that child, but hate his actions. You wouldn't call the parent hateful because he hates the child's actions. It is no different with God.

@imitalianbitch I don't want to sound simply contrary but you are most assuredly incorrect about what the Bible says. Homosexuality is absolutely in there. Read Leviticus Chapter 18. Many of the things that disturbed people think today are all outlined quite clearly there, and those actions described are sins. If a Bible isn't handy at the moment then here's the text:
(Leviticus 18:22) Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

I lack all forms of faith. I have my reasons the same way one has his reasons to have faith. Religious institutions are flawed all around. If you are Catholic, Protestant, Baptist or any of the hundred other interpretations of the bible and the people of that institution have something against you in particular then practice by your own interpretation. We have no right to try to change the believes of THEIR institution like they lack the right to get into my personal life and lecture me on it.
