oh, that sounds all to familiar, i've been getting service from that company, ever since they bought ATTBI and attbi bought @home. pretty much the same thing, just different names is all, anyways, that's what I thought, untill they started to combine both the tv and the internet bills when they used to be seperate. There are times that the tv goes out, then after that comes back on the internet goes out, sometimes they go out together, which, needles to say is a pain, no wonder some are mad.
I work for comcast and most of the ppl call abt thier rates going up bexase the promotion is over and they can be on the phone for hours trying to get the promotion back. Or just because they are to fucking lazy to take a look at their bills and they want you to tell them all charges.

when there is an outage in one area I.e. a semi truck runs over a utility pole with the fiber line on it. the call center gets over whelmed and has to turn calls away. theirs just not enough people to answer the volume of calls.
If you listen to the message it tells you that they are getting a flood of calls. That usually happens when something major in your area happens and a flood of customers call in.
we are all getting screwed by every single form of media. prices are going up because they have monopolies, and not because of costs. they simply want our money, and we need their services. they've got us on a leash.
There is a monopoly on cable internet. Comcast is the only company that has cable in this town. I pay for it, so I should get what I pay for. and 250 GB for andwidth usage isnt that much. It should be unlimited.
All you talk about are rates, but our service is the best. probably 1% of customers have trouble withn the svcs. And if you know any company thats perfect, let me know. Comcast is the best in the business.

comcast does limit the bandwith, however you have to be abusing the network in order for you to notice. like running a web server off of a residential service or doing massive downloands like 750,000 songs in a month. Comcast is a shaddy outfit. A guy comes to install my cable and claims someone (I think he did) cut my comcast line. And I need a letter from my landlord stating that he can drill a new hole, even thou there is one already there. He claims he cant use it cause it was put there by directTV people. So he leaves. 2 days later I get another guy to come, I have my letter and tell the guy about it. He laughs and says "I don't need to drill, I'll just use the hole right there."
There are always people who have to complain about something. Point in fact, no one makes you get the service so stop complaining you have it. And to cancel service you simply call them and say "I want to cancel my service". The will likely try to save you as a customer, but if you truely want to be shut off you will. Life isnt that hard.

I feel a duty to update. The installation was a challenge. But now I have had the service for quite some time (year, more?) and I must admit the service is outstanding. I have the tripple play. The data connection is awesome and works 99.99999999999% of the time. Phone is great (free long distance), they DO answer the phone now, and I am now a satisfied customer. It was fun posting this and it did help me deal with the hell of getting going, but at the end of the day I'm comcastic.
That the message you got...usually means that there is a problem with the IVR and routing calls...sometimes it happens...not very often, but things do break =/

In my market as well as some others across the country, Time Warner sold their local divisions to Comcast. This occurred about a year ago. Thus (from the ads that ran quite a bit last year), "Time Warner is now Comcast" in Houston.
The best time to call Comcast is never. Cancel your service (if you can -- it took me 5 months of customer service hell to do so) and find another provider or do without.
I work for tech support, and yah ... i've gotten this message when trying to transfer someone to their own market and that market is so swamped that it doesn't accept anymore calls. It's very ridiculous.
My favorite recording is, "Please wait while we CONTINUE to TRY to connect your call." Just so silly sounding.

I really want to point out (I work for comcast)
That the message you got...usually means that there is a problem with the IVR and routing calls...sometimes it happens...not very often, but things do break =/

I work for comcast also(tier) and when im transferring calls to the local market or billing ESPECIALLY billing i get the same thing sometimes and it is unfortunate but you just have to keep trying back "sorry for the inconvenience but we'd like to thank you for calling comcast where your a valued customer have a great day"...lol

OOOOH! I hate that message. What I really hate is that somehow my VOD services keep getting deactivated and I can't access all the channels I've paid for and everytime I have to call them to get a signal sent to my STB. This occurs almost daily, some of the cust. svc. reps are starting to know me by name...

In my market as well as some others across the country, Time Warner sold their local divisions to Comcast. This occurred about a year ago. Thus (from the ads that ran quite a bit last year), "Time Warner is now Comcast" in Houston.

The best time to call Comcast is never. Cancel your service (if you can -- it took me 5 months of customer service hell to do so) and find another provider or do without.

I work for tech support, and yah ... i've gotten this message when trying to transfer someone to their own market and that market is so swamped that it doesn't accept anymore calls. It's very ridiculous.
My favorite recording is, "Please wait while we CONTINUE to TRY to connect your call." Just so silly sounding.

yeah what happens is that they have sooo many people on hold that, the system after the limit, wont let you through so you have to call back later.

lol yes we have busy HSI...at times there are 120 people waiting for an hour and a half with little staff. A hint...call during the day when theres more staff.

Two possiblities: The phone system is messed up, or there are A LOT of people calling HSI. I work in national for them and I have trouble getting HSI too lol.

Prefer for them to tell me how long it's going to be before the phone is answered, so I can get some work done while waiting.
What happens with them doing this is:
1) My failed servie is still failed.
2) They are telling me they don't have the time of day for someone who puts food on their table
3) I still have no idea when or if my service will be repaired.
Very poor governance. I did not post this in attempt to ridicule them. I posted it in attempt to get them to change their ways.
