By analyzing and mentally pondering on the intense skill and mental strength needed to undertake the above stunt, one can confidently conclude that the pilot of this plane has testicles with a general circumference that supersedes that of an average human being.
Very Cool, Did you check my HD video of the same pass. I was on the Balclutha at aquatic park.
When in HD mode you can pause and get a clear view of the vapors rising. The best time to catch it is just as it starts and while passing Alcatraz. Check it out!
I have NO idea why those french low flyers act like such hotshots considering that its the angels and not them that have enough guts to hit the afterburner at that altitude
They get nice and loud. The camera can't capture the volume. Check out my "Cobra" video. The pilot hits the thrust and flies over my head. Just imagine so loud that your ears almost ring. The F-18's make a really cool noise when they fly by you at normal speed; Whhheeeeeoooooooo. In afterburner, they are loud and raspy. Thanks for your question. Hope you get to see them soon.
@protagonistsf if the camera can't capture the volume, hire someone to DO so, if not, then pack it up buddy. Your videos suck, I only follow them to find the much better related ones. But thanks!! And, by the way, San Fran sucks ass and is turning into a death pit for anyone and everyone, thanks to illegal aliens, gangs, and fucking liberals who think it's perfectly ok to watch the best city in the word destroyed by Oboma and his illegal drug runners
as a kid, I was TERRIFIED of the noise they put off. i loved watching them in the sky during performances. we lived so close to the airfield here in town that I could sit in my front yard and watch. but, when they flew overhead, the ground shook, the cave of your chest would shake rapidly, and the seering engines would blast your eyes out. incredible power
No. I watched him pop over the Presido and then dive right down to about 50 feet. Had I not spent 20 minutes waiting to catch him doing this (because it scared the crap out of me the day before) I never would have seen him coming.
Yes, he went over the bridge. I was doing the same thing as Joniorio, watching for him. Everyone at Fleetweek always says "it would be cool if they flew under the bridge," but alas, no one has seen that yet. A few years back, Richard Branson wanted to fly a jetliner under the bridge, but they wouldnt let him do that.
this will have nothing to do with the Bay, or the B. Angels, but since u touched "bridges and jetliners", a portuguese pilot once flew a 707 under the April 25th bridge in Lisbon, but I'm not sure if it was recorded on film, I don't think so... :/
I would love to see that video! We are so fortunate this decade that we have so many video cameras out there--that almost all the great stuff is video-documented by someone.
Thanks Jondiorio for that video post. That one captured the true speed of the pass. You must have a steady hand for the camera. I'm wondering if that was the day before because I couldn't see the froth on the water. But it could have been the angle. I hope I am lucky enough next year to see this from a boat! Hat's off to you!
Thanks for your compliment, Ipanema. In person, it was much more fast and even more spectacular than what the camera caught. I hope you get to see it live!
Thanks, Racevws. I'd like to get this from further East next year; 2008 Fleet Week. I'd be happy if the whole show were just a series of the high speed, low level passes. :-)
Can a F-15 fly 15 ft above the water on a normal day?
