  • When I was on my football team in high school, everyone else made fun of the disabled kid on the team. See, this right here is honorable.

  • Agreed, if you dislike this video you have no soul or heart. Bless this kid

  • my hs football team is viral on youtube. pretty sick haha

  • The opposing team displayed true class. Way to go guys, thanks Coach!

  • i was in the stands it was pretty awesome

  • I am not against this video or ike but I do jus wanna say that ppl with downs and other disabilities rally to be treated fairly and like they are jus like everyone else and then exceptions like this are made.... mixed signal.... I think so. Either treat them like everyone else or treat them special. Either way go ike and to lakestevens good sportsmanship. I went to school in the area and they do have a fierce rivalry

  • this is , i cant even find the words, SO AWSOME

  • Wow thats really nice

  • This is why i love my generation. people think we might be punks or low-lifes, but it's people like tis that make me smile. Thank you =)

  • Im Proud to be A Lake Stevens Viking. To see such compasion and sportsmanship from my own school is truly amazing. Cant wait for the new year!!

  • I go to lake stevens high school and i was at this game and it's absolutely amazing how much sportsmanship our school showed.

  • 156 people have problems and they dont accept downs people

  • Hey guys here's a bit of background for ya:

I currently attend Lake Stevens High School, and we HATE HATE HATE those snotty Snohomish Panthers! They have been our rivals for the longest time, and i would just like to comment on how proud i am of the teams, the crowd, and especially Ike for making this one of the most magical events in both of our histories!!

PS: Apparently the rights of this story have been sold to HOLLYWOOD *---*

  • Proud to be from Lake Stevens :)

    Good Job Ike!

  • Incredible!!! Way to go Ike!!! True sportsmanship

  • In the dictionary under "Sportsmanship" there is a link to this video.

  • how can any normal person dislike this video?

  • Marshawn Lynch's run all over again:)

  • we all needed that.

  • we all needed that

  • my name is ike

  • This was the Seattle Seahawks this afternoon.

  • Thats just one of those things that can change someones life :)

  • That is one of those things that can change a life. :) Good for him.

  • O crap, That was a crazy run, broke like 10 tackles ;)

  • He was just in the newspaper again.

  • i was at the game :)

  • MORE LIKE "TOUCH-DOWN SYNDROME"!!!

  • This has been nominated as one of the top moments in Seattle sports for 2010. Please visit the Seattle Times website and vote for it there. Voting ends at 5pm Pacific time on Christmas Eve with results published on Sunday December 26.

  • he had some nice moves

  • How can anybody dislike this video, for real?

  • He has down syndrome. He needs special care. That's why the teams did this. Loved it. Thought it was so nice of them and the players who dived lolz xD

  • Made my day.

  • These kids have just demonstrated one of the most important things in sports, sportsmanship.

  • I am so proud to be from an area that makes peoples wishes come true! Ike was so happy and so excited to be contributing to his team that night. Imagine how joyful he was to score the only touchdown for his team that night. Good job to both the teams for being so humble and willing to make someones life better. I want to be more like y'all. :)

  • Those diving tackles were sick

  • this video made me tear up!

  • amazing:)

  • Good heart to both teams and both coaches. I'm not sure if the kid noticed but hell, i bet it made him feel great!

  • @whothehellami719 Ike and the parents visited Lake Stevens (the rival school) days later to say thanks

  • Way to go man!! Nice Touchdown!! It's great to see him be able to do this!! Lots of Class there from both teams!

  • Very nice for everyone to be unselfish and consider this special person's feelings. That touchdown might well be the highlight of his life. It felt great to watch the video too.

  • Not sure who the opposing team was, but they're a class act for letting him have it.

  • @kdryan21 lake Stevens VS. snohomish

  • this is just heart warming,

  • There is hope in this world after all..I'm not ashamed too say that brought tears..I'm very proud of both teams..Pure class all the way around..

  • amazed there aren't the typical haters on here, a truly heart warming moment

  • this just made my day!

  • Beautiful.

  • Wow I live in Seattle and there have been some articles of this and I think the defense should get more credit, because the coach asked them to let him run a few yards and they gave up a shutout to male him feel good

  • Now he's got touchdown syndrome!!!!!

  • I'm so glad they made this TD more dramatic and action-packed with actual missed tackles and blocking (albeit not at full speed or strength). I think more of these inspirational TD's should be like this. I've seen a couple of similar TDs where the defense just opens up a big hole and lets the player run through. Those left me feeling like something was missing. I like this approach way better. It makes the player feel as if he really earned it.

  • SALUTE.

  • 119 people dont have a heart

  • nice of the kids to let him get some glory!

  • That's so wonderful and inspirational. The idiots who dislike this are idiotic.

  • This is just awesome. Ike is most certainly the man here.

  • this is what god want us to do

  • i am glad i got to know this kid when i was in highschool

  • congrats to him and that was really nice of both the teams to do

  • Sign that kid up for the Special Olympics! That was an amazing run!

  • Yeah. That's just how awesome Washington is.

  • class act

  • "JUST SAY HI" THIS VIDEO IS SO AMAZING I CRIED :) AT THE COMPASSION AND HOW HUMAN KINDNESS CAN REACH SUCH BOUNDARIES! His teammates treat him the way he should be with kindness, fairness and RESPECT <3

  • I went to Snohomish for my freshman year of high school. It's crazy to see it get this kind of recognition! Deservingly so, y'all are some stand up young men for doing this.

  • that was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool

  • In the end, what all the players on that field will take away is worth far more than the final score or giving up a TD. They helped that fine young man achieve a moment of glory he'll remember forever.

  • This will be one of the highlights in this kid's life, he'll never forget it. Awesome stuff guys, this was great.

  • Damn, what college is this kid going to? He's a beast, he broke like 5 tackles. Alabama should consider this kid, since Ingram is leaving. Trent Richardson and this kid = National Championship!

  • sent chills down my spine that is beautiful

  • Holy moly....decent people still exist! I cried watching that TD. Bunch of big hearted people in Washington State. Bless you all!

  • class.

  • I really admire this kid and the guys on his team. Even the opposing team shows a lot of class and respect for someone just trying to do their best. A lot of good people in this video!

  • people hats off for Ike he has a great and brighter future ahead of him. Good Luck to you Ike Ditzenberger! have a great football career too college teams should be scouting you!

  • man the 108 ppl that voted down for this video have no heart.

  • This video almost made me cry! I have worked with various Special Needs people of all ages, abilities, and needs since I was 16, and never have I seen anything so wonderful! It just goes to show that anything is possible:)

  • I think that this is amazing :) I was there, and I loved every second of this. The coaches of LSHS did not know that Lake Stevens was going let him score, or did the SHS coaches. The Snohomish coaches just asked for them to let him run a few yards before they tackled him. The LSHA gave up their shut out to let Ike make this amazing play :) I think that shows how amazing people can be! all of the boys on the team should be proud of themselves! It's not all about the score, and they proved it!!

  • God bless those Lake Stevens kids. And the Snohomish players. This video should give everyone hope that people are still great.

  • It took all I had not to cry, I wish more people in this world would show this sort of kindness. And Sportsmanship for that matter!

  • if the whole world could have just a touch of the kindness these kids showed it would be a much better place.

  • wow. thats just amazing. i love seeing wonderful things like that. i wish the whole world could be like this.

  • I'm from snohomish and its the talk of the town!

  • Very cool :) Ike went to my junior high school! He even went to my bus stop :) Didnt know what happened to him. Wow,obviously he made a career when he left! Congrats Ike!

  • I hear the 49ers are looking to replace Alex Smith...

  • I watch all types of football NFL, CFL, COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY, AND HIGHSCHOOL.

This was by far the best touchdown I have ever seen, Pure sportmanship at its best.

Very Classy gentlemen and very well done. You have done us football old timers proud.

  • This is AWESOME.

  • WOW im so happy for this boy ; IKE !!!!!!

tanks for people have big heart for him, PLEASE the world takes example of this !!

    PEACE

    xoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxo

  • All sortsa watery eyes. Much love to those of you that made that happen.

  • Thanks Ike, your excellent teammates, opponents and coaches. These people know what being a real winner is. It's amazing how Ike's spirit and his teammates' camaraderie is affecting people thousands of miles away. Many thanks.

  • I LOVE SNOHOMISH!!!!!!! I went to school with Ike and was able to get to know him some. He is such an amazing kid! I dont think I will ever be able to forget him.

There is a facebook page called "The Ike Special" it has a buch of links to newspaper articles and some pictures of Ike.

  • so beautiful :)

101 people are heartless human beings

  • Great to see sportsmanship alive still and to those 100 who disliked this vid... shame on you...5 starts and a thumbs up!!!

  • Good for them.... All the players will feel pretty good now for the class and sportmanship they showed. In 50 years, when they look back, they will all feel even better.

  • I love Ike :) we used to hang out in elementary school... Ike you rock!!!

  • That was a magical thing they did for that boy. It's times when I see something like this I wish I was a billionaire so I could buy all those kids a pair of Nikes or something for FIGURATIVELY touching me in such a special way.

  • Those teens are all a class act.

  • Awesome. Gets me choked up, just watching it.

  • outstanding sportsmanship, so unbeleivable...beautiful video!!

  • WHY would anyone Dislike this Video!?

  • at first, I had a hard time finding him until I realized that he was number 57. This is a heartwarming story. --If I was on the defense, I would just make a halfhearted effort to chase him. If I somehow managed to get close, I would just slow down. Ike needs a TD.

  • this is really inspiring both teams showed amazing sportmanship. I am truly impressed =)

  • 99 people bet money on that game.

  • Gorgeous!

  • Hello World,

Now you can see the quality of people in Washington state. These coaches and players transcend football and move up to a higher level of human being, grace and compassion for others.

Both teams should be invited to the Governor's house and then to the White house for national recognition.

remember this: ---- > A Single Act of Kindness can change a person's life forever.

  • @Sammamishwa : so true my friend, SO true. wtg from Canada.

  • @Sammamishwa It's just too bad that we have to reward acts of kindness like this. Human beings should be expected to perform at this level of passion already and it is unbelievable what we let ourselves slide to. I agree though, in a world like this they do deserve recognition because no one else puts the right foot forward anymore.

  • @Sammamishwa That was the second time our football team let him do that too. once on JV and this one on varsity.

  • Great lesson for everyone! Be an uplifter. If we all choose to take part in that, we can make one heck of a great ripple effect! Way to go Vikings and Panthers. You made Ike's dream come true. :-)

  • thats wonderful

  • Thats such a nice thing to do for him, only thing is thats my football number ;p guess were gonna run a play called the boca special.. that was cool of the other team to let him do that he must of loved it

  • i am proud that he is playing football. i think he made the right choice. it's not about winning, it's about having fun. GO IKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I know what it's like being from LSHS and wanting to kick the crap out of Snoho but even so, you can't help but smile when you see this and know how happy you just made one kid and his family. Way to be Vikings.

  • The "Directors Cut" version is under Video Responses. It has multiple angles and video footage of Ike running to the sidline celebrating after his touchdown.

  • I LOVE how, in the very beginning, #42 on defense tries to tackle him by diving after him over on the near sideline there. Makes the run a little more authentic on camera. Very nice. Feel good story.

  • I am glad i am from Lake Stevens. (:

  • i cant believe how popular this is i go to lake stevens high school how does a story like this go nation wide so fast?

  • @killerkeet - it went nationwide so fast b/c it's sooooo rare to c nice, considerate things happen in this malicious world & especially when it comes to HS. Who doesn't love to see two teams come together to make 1person feel so wonderful?! It helps remind ppl that there r ppl that do care about other ppl. We need more ppl like the coach who let him on the team in this world!!

  • @killerkeet. Try worldwide! :) Great stuff!

  • Lake Stevens for the win. The coach teaches my PE class.

  • This video warms my heart every time I see it and it bring tears to my eyes. Way to go lake and snohomish for your cooperation :D

  • These young guys on the football field probably don't even realize what joy they brought to this kid and his family. They will remember this for the rest of their lives! Great job. Truly incredible.

  • I now have hope for the future of mankind

  • Gotta love the guys "diving" after him. lol Good stuff.

  • he should play for the detroit lions.

  • 0:10 to 0:13 kid gots a nice cut back way to go...... and the touchdown dance is beast.....

  • 0:10 to 0:13 kid gots a nice cut back way to go......

  • Miraculous to say the least. Those kids did an amazing thing for that kid and his family

  • What a great feeling...

  • I love how the other team showed that winning is easy....But winning a game with dignity , Pride, and respect for your opponent is what truly makes champions. I mean that for both teams... Two Thumbs Up for a generation of youth that much deserves better recognition than what they get these days.

  • That was a very nice thing to do. I'm sure this made him feel great.. Good job to both teams for this!!

  • very nice work

  • YYYAAAHHH!!!!!!!!

  • This video shows one of the amazing things in the world. The fact that this kid was given the chance to really feel good about himself is wonderful. to the people who have made rude, and rotten comments about this-You have done nothing more than show the world how stupid and cruel you are!!! GROW UP!!!

  • Great Video. That's amazing that they did that for that kid.

  • The fake tackle attempts were a nice touch. DERP!

  • @ssnatcherss lol@ derp

  • Remember that girl from Glee who also had a disability? Sue did not take it easy on her, she treated her like the rest. I don't think this is sportsmanship, I think its pity that no person would want. If I were that person, I would want to be treated/challenged just like everyone else. It's like they're parading him around. However, if it made him happy, then I can't argue with that.

  • Great Sportsmanship

  • hmm I guess that was nice

  • Nice to know that there r some decent people in the world

  • hmm..i wonder why they didnt give him stickers on his helm

  • That my friends is True and Beautiful Sportsmanship. Love it!

  • To be cherished :) and beaming with pride

  • Looks like the Pats' D out there..

  • This is great!

  • this is such an amazing video

  • how could 89 ppl dislike this. what the hell were they drunk. i cant believe someone would do that

  • It’s amazing how unselfish and compassionate kids can be when they are raised right. I hope you show this video to your kids when you get home from work today.

  • why would u thumb this down?

  • 89 gingers disliked this :O

  • 88 people dont have souls

  • This is awesome he will remember that the rest of his life !!! XD

  • Its amazing that in a world where men only understand the concept of winning at all costs and stepping over the weak, a handful of boys can put pride aside and learn that real winning takes place in the heart and not on a scoreboard.... Every last one of those boys deserve a seat somewhere in the government... This world would be a much better place...

  • I dunno what's better this video, or the video of the Autistic kid that made like 6 3's in the high school game that was "hot as a pistol"

  • so whens the movie comming out?

  • doesnt this happen every touchdown

i mean i saw the NFL and it looks the same

  • This is sweet :]

  • Great!

  • this is awesome along with both student sections looked like a sick game

  • my eyes IMMEDIATELY filled up w tears. that was so great :) kudos!!

  • took a lot of heart for the teams to agree on letting this kid do something he wont forget. this was awesome.

  • This is some of the worst defense I have ever seen. They really laid down on this play.

  • @igorolevsky down syndrome runner. let him get it. for gods sake the defense must be good they were winning 35-0.

  • @igorolevsky I think that was kind of the point.....

  • @Dmx19899 hahahaha. Didn't know DMX coaches high school. I guess he's a good yeller

  • I coach highschool football and last year we were getting killed and one of our seniors had cancer and the other team let him run fr a 81 yard td it was very touching u might of seen it on tv or he was also on espn after that he is doing great now and has started coaching it was sad that he had to miss his senior year though

  • a touching story this is wat football is really about. He achieved his dream good for you Ike

  • I've seen a lot of football. I've never seen more class on the field than I just did.

  • @dmhale72 I so agree with you. that is class unseen anymore. hats off to both teams for doing this.

  • Ike,

you will be dearly missed :(

  • Very cool, not just for Ike, but for everyone else that got to see it. It is a touching display that made a huge impact on a young mans life. Very cool.

  • I would have tackled him at the 1 yard line. Just saying.

  • aww that is so adorable. The world is not all cruel! To let a kid have that touchdown is so special. Maybe more people should act like that.
