I woke up from a nap today with this song in my head, and I knew it wasn't Plant's voice I was hearing........I was wondering who's it was. Tonight I was feeling very reminiscent and wanted to hear Stand Tall and Fool to Love a Fool........and I found this. WOW!!!!!!! It was your voice I was hearing!
Hey, Burton. It's been a while since we met. I shared a beer with you when you showed up to do a few tunes while the McLean brothers played the Ratskellar bar at McMaster U about 1976 or so. You might remember that night. We sat right behind the little makeshift stage in a booth. Three dudes downing a few and you sat down and played for us while the brothers sat out. Fun night and thanks for the great tunes over the years. My fave is 'Bus Rider'.
The reissue of Rockin' has the vocal version of "Sea Of Love" (finally!). I'd like to have a Burton cd with him just doing these songs, taking the "Jukebox" concept further. My favorite singer of all time.
I remember the day everything was set up to record this and specifically where you were to get the echoing sound. clue...next to the pay phone. It's a marvelous song and you do it poetic justice!
I remember when scoring a copy of you singing this was a prize amung fans. Most people may not realise that was you singing "SOL"in the background. On Hi Rockers.
Wish you had done more in this style over the years. Life in the Bloodstream is another good example of that doo wop influence. Love it. Keep on rockin' Burton.
I have always loved this song though I just realized something in this rendition, when Burton plays the opening piano line before vocals kick in, I swear that piano line is strikingly similar to Radio Head Spinning Plates... can I get a witness?
From the "Rockin" album 1972. One of the Guess Who`s best, and it sounds like they had lots of fun recording it. If you don`t have it, go buy it, it rocks!
I remember the night I first me you. I was with Carla O. But that was so long ago that we are probably lost in a sea of faces. I was so darn shy, couldn't say more than HI. lol

I'm not a huge fan of PETROF pianos, but Burton made it sound like a Steinway...
Interesting choice of a song to play on the spot there; it made my day. Fantastic!!!!!!
