rap's more popular in america, but the whole world's felt the cultrul impact of hip hop, so this video makes sense! think- hip hop sampling old famous songs!
I am a Beatles Completist. I have every Beatle Song ever released including songs not released on the Anthology LP. [Et Cetera by Macca, etc.] When I saw this clip, I fell over LAUGHING!!! Someone took a tired old Rock & Roll song, one that I memorized every note, every squeek and made it new for me. GOD BLESS YOU DANGERMOUSE!!! RAP s-u-c-k-s because RAP doesn't take chances!! It's play 8 notes 148 times, insert one note, 8 times for the middle eight, then repeat 148 more times...boring!!!
@Armydicked That isn't what Rap is about. If you're sitting there listening to the beat then you're missing the point. Not trying to be a dick, but that's just what the case is. And most current popular rap misses the point in and of itself; the people need to be people of substance or it's worthless.
Listen to some Talib Kweli and pay attention to what that dude is saying, try Mackelmore, Immortal Technique, Dead Prez, MosDef.
lmao I love the music video. And all you haters have to realize that nobody is "ruining" anything, if you haven't read the first part of the video, there is a white album, there is a black album. done and done. It's kind of like an experiment to find the middle ground, you know? You kind of have to think about it deeply. If you hate, then simply stop commenting.

This is ill, in my opinion the Grey Album is better than the black album. Never thought that it's possible to put Jay-Z's lyrics over a Beatles-instrumental, but this sounds great!
@julianfunck I'm sure you've already gotten a ton of these, but check out Jaydiohead as well, they do a great job putting Radiohead's instrumentals to his lyrics.
basically you have two types of rappers or musicians.
the ones that just do cause they know they can make some money doing it then you have the real music fans that really enjoy doing it and would do it for free if living was free.
Caught this video for the first time on LINK (Current's entertainment division) and although i despise the "sampling" done by most rappers (Booo-Hisss Diddy SUCKS) this entire production by Danger Mouse was the absolute BEAST-Love it~!!

hey hipster Shen96, Take it easy. This is Beatles music that has been chopped and stolen. In no way was it (CREATE)ive. I mean this is like taking a Picasso and cutting it up to make ten tshirts and then resell and say that its your work... This is cool music but I can completely understand why it was squashed.
@JSEJSE60 This isn't creative? You must have some high standards for creativity.
It's terribly ironic that you chose Picasso as an example of creativity, because late in his life he started reinterpreting other's works (aka redoing others paintings in his style). While that may be more akin to a cover in the world of music, I think it still works for mashups.

stupid ass bitch as if there weren't enough problems in the world. You have to fight against hunger against capitalism which most of the Americans call democratic. Capitalism means the money to the banks and all of his friends and watch people starve. But you're another stupid idiot who thinks america is the greatest country in the world.
@10ar10 "stupid idiot?" the counter culture has been THE driving force behind capitalism for the last 60 years think of how popular items that use rebellion as selling point are...besides that i was being facetious..."stupid idiot"
Jay-z is an idiot!!! He compares himself to Che Guevera, but che' thought the black man was a sub-human species and thought genocide was necessary. Che preferred the white european. Jay Z also had an after party after the Brit awards and banned white people from the VIP. young people are stupid these days, they have no education on world history or current affairs. They young people today can tell you about 24 in. rims, how to be a socialist, and about solja boy s dance or some dumb shit!!!!!!
I have an extremely hard time believing that. Especially from someone who rants about how stupid the younger generation is, but can't form proper sentences. "They young people". Very nice.
@SuperFromatoz haha that wasn't a smart ass comment. I wasn't being sarcastic or anything. Was just saying that, if you look at other countries, Socialism is what they use.
Please don't generalize. I'm 14 and care very much about The Beatles. I hate rap, hip-hop, modern pop (Most modern music for that matter) and have a great knowledge on the Revolutionary War, the French Revolution, and the conflict in the Middle East, and not just the stuff the news tells us.
@Beatleboy62 You mean you have a great knowledge of the basic stuff they teach you at school? You hate rap and hip-hop just for the hell of it even though you probably haven't listened to good rap/hip-hop and hate the lil wayne kind. Modern music is great, especially if you look at the indie stuff.
@Beatleboy62 Sounds like your parent's are speaking for you, which is fine, parents should keep an eye on what their children see and listen too and for that matter I was probably just like you. I only listened to what mom and dad approved. You should explore music on a contemporary level. I am 30 and listen to almost everything and on that note you should never hate particular genre's of music. As a musician I believe that is just as bad as hating someone for cultural reasons. Typical American
@MattyTheMole This is quite true, actually. It's either only what parents approve of, or only what parents disapprove of (black metal etc. in order to appear "edgy"). Lately, it's been leaning towards the second side. Take this as an example. About a week ago I went to visit a convent because there was a 2-hour organ concert. I walked in, sat down and waited for the concert to start. Right before the concert started, a group of kids (about my age) from summer camp joined the concert as well.
@MattyTheMole They sat right behind me, and the concert started with J.S. Bach's "Toccata in D minor". Instantly, the whole group of kids behind me started acting apathetic and some of them were loudly yawning (probably to show off their "edginess" once again). After the concert was over, all of them were complaining about how "boring" and "shitty" it was and went on with their lives. Such a shame that it's so hard these days to appreciate music like this.
@tauwilltriumph That goes to show you how education in the U.S. works. School and their districts focuses more of its energy and money on more meanless competitive activities, like football and such, which do not concern education in the first place. Look up the documentary called "Stupid in America". I'm sure what you hear wont suprise you, but it offers a lot of good insight on where our future is headed.
@MattyTheMole This is actually a universal problem (I'm Polish). The world wants to imitate America, but they're focusing on the wrong things. Thanks for the documentary, I'll check it out.
@MattyTheMole You know in all those "documentaries" you watch they are only going to show you the stupid ones. They're are not going to show something that dilutes their point. I went to school in the US and Europe and the US school i went to in Pennsylvania was pretty decent. I don't know about other schools in different areas of America, but mine was on par with other schools i've attended.
Che Guevara was not a racist dumbass, why would he fight in the Congo against European imperialists if that was the case. You shouldn't believe all the Republican assholes who constantly put anyone who disagrees with them down
Record corporations, who quashed selling of this great album, are killing musical and artistic creative culture in our country of "the free and the brave", the totalitarians in the record companies need to be neutured.

@Jollus007 Well, seems like Socialism is this generations economic choice. Countries change and so do their governments, sometimes you cant stop it.

@Beatleboy62 OMG YOUR GETTING A FUCKING PRIZE SON. there's great music out today too, you either have no taste or just dont know about it
Chacha5678 1 year ago

MattyTheMole 1 year ago
@MattyTheMole This is quite true, actually. It's either only what parents approve of, or only what parents disapprove of (black metal etc. in order to appear "edgy"). Lately, it's been leaning towards the second side. Take this as an example. About a week ago I went to visit a convent because there was a 2-hour organ concert. I walked in, sat down and waited for the concert to start. Right before the concert started, a group of kids (about my age) from summer camp joined the concert as well.
tauwilltriumph 1 year ago

MattyTheMole 1 year ago
@MattyTheMole This is actually a universal problem (I'm Polish). The world wants to imitate America, but they're focusing on the wrong things. Thanks for the documentary, I'll check it out.
tauwilltriumph 1 year ago
@MattyTheMole You know in all those "documentaries" you watch they are only going to show you the stupid ones. They're are not going to show something that dilutes their point. I went to school in the US and Europe and the US school i went to in Pennsylvania was pretty decent. I don't know about other schools in different areas of America, but mine was on par with other schools i've attended.

@MattyTheMole I do agree that the school districts waste money. however, i think that this is a problem everywhere.

Che Guevara was not a racist dumbass, why would he fight in the Congo against European imperialists if that was the case. You shouldn't believe all the Republican assholes who constantly put anyone who disagrees with them down

Wow I downloaded this 6 years ago, and still appreciate the Grey album. Even the Beatles stole the idea of mixing different tracks(e.g. Love)!
exotool 1 year ago
Well, George and John were dead by then, and Paul and Ringo really had no part in 'Love' besides giving it the green light.
