Now for some facts, if you put the GTR on a track you'll probably blow the tranny. Everybody knows how wonderful the GTR's tranny is. Even Nissan does. Check the OM. GTR is a twin-turbo V6 AWD Dual zone automatic. GT500 is a SC'd V8 RWD with a Manual.

The stock 2010 and earlier GT-R doesn't run 10.7 in the 1/4. Also that Shelby had less that 15k of mods making it if bought new 70-75k as to compared to the 80-90k GT-R. And it still beat it.

This is a real race. You just have to use the proper tires for the Mustangs to hold up all their torque. The GTR is AWD. I guess if you set the right sticky tires to any muscle car, it will smash all imports....I tell by experience I own a slighty modified 96 gt. And even with good tires she just have mush torque for a smooth launch. But this is how they really do..

doen't the mustang GT500 still use a live rear axle? ain't no one going to the americans for that piece to technology, perhaps if you wanted to build a wagon from the 1900's and correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think it has a limited slip differential either. In europe and japan the busses have more complicated suspension than on this mustang. does looks good though, not sure the same can be said about the nissan

The hennessey GTR 700, which in fact makes 715hp, runs 10.8, so there you go. I dont know where yall got your facts from, but you are sorely miss informed.
the SamuraiSpeed (specialized GTR tuner) ran a 10.7 in a GTR developing also more than 700Hp
two different tuners - SamuraiSpeed is actually even a FANATIC GTR tuner. both tuners ran high 10´s at the 1/4 mile in 700+Hp GTRs. so everyone who actually thinks a stock 480Hp GTR is going to run a 10 does need a clean brain without the "GTR-fanboy-brain-files" haha

Samurai Speed (specialized GTR tuner) ran a 10.7 in a GTR developing close 700Bhp (look it up). the GTR in this video actually even looks like the Samurai GTR.
great run for the GT500 - would have run a mid 10 also without the 75 shot easily. in this case - the GTR didn´t stand a chance.
When it comes to "Shelby", I always bring up the image of Shelby AC Cobra. I hear it was the fastest not only in drag strips but also race tracks among production cars. According to a Wikipedia, its chassis was British make. So I think Shelby GT500 would become one of the fastest production cars if it had British chassis like Mclaren or Lotus.
these are probably the 2 best cars to own where you get huge power for a few grand invested. That GT500 probably had 10K AT BEST in mods and the GTR probably had a CAI, Cobb tune and some exhaust work done(down pipe/mid pipe etc). In fact a stock turbo GTR trapped 136 MPH with full bolt ons. 2 great cars!
@proonehander this gtr was also modded and tuned genius and it ran 131 which means the ECM was flashed as well because GTR's off the lot cant pass 113 from the throttle cut off. stop the excuses. the mustang won

If you plan on keeping your warranty and not using launch control its a drivers race in the 1/4 with a Shelby. If not buy buy tranny

If you must know the 2009 GTR that ran the Nurburgring in 7:26.7 was a production model. The Spec-V maybe quicker in straightline but has a slippery diff, so its not as good handling as the Base model. 2011 GTR has 530BHP, Nissan annouced that it runs the ring in 7:20 so wheres that being slower ? Again with you stereotypes about the warrenty its been sorted in the 2010 models.

The stock 2010 and earlier GT-R doesn't run 10.7 in the 1/4. Also that Shelby had less that 15k of mods making it if bought new 70-75k as to compared to the 80-90k GT-R. And it still beat it.

This is a real race. You just have to use the proper tires for the Mustangs to hold up all their torque. The GTR is AWD. I guess if you set the right sticky tires to any muscle car, it will smash all imports....I tell by experience I own a slighty modified 96 gt. And even with good tires she just have mush torque for a smooth launch. But this is how they really do..

doen't the mustang GT500 still use a live rear axle? ain't no one going to the americans for that piece to technology, perhaps if you wanted to build a wagon from the 1900's and correct me if i'm wrong but i don't think it has a limited slip differential either. In europe and japan the busses have more complicated suspension than on this mustang. does looks good though, not sure the same can be said about the nissan

Ok so i did my research for all of you out there saying the GTR was stock, just to be 100% on what i had said before, and i was correct. A stock GTR runs 11.8. The hennessey GTR 700, which in fact makes 715hp, runs 10.8, so there you go. I dont know where yall got your facts from, but you are sorely miss informed.

two different tuners - SamuraiSpeed is actually even a FANATIC GTR tuner. both tuners ran high 10´s at the 1/4 mile in 700+Hp GTRs. so everyone who actually thinks a stock 480Hp GTR is going to run a 10 does need a clean brain without the "GTR-fanboy-brain-files" haha

They are more like $150,000 in the us and they are still slower around the track than the GT-R. The fastest Lambo (Murceilago LP 640) did a 7:40 around the nurburgring compared to the GT-R's 7:26 while costing twice the price. If you pay for this car just to go fast in the 1/4 you are an idiot. If you buy it to go fast around a track good idea.

@kageryu311 it´s official - don´t even try to argue. there are tons of articles and statements by nissan about that. look it up "Modular 5.4 technology good enough for nissan GTR´s V6TT". the GTR´s V6-TT is pretty similar to the 5.4 S/C V8 Modular for a reason ;). nissan can´t develop a own engine - they need america just like any other brand ;) no matter if you want to face it or not. have a nice day fanboy. Dont over think it guys. Im a huge fan of both cars and they both have there place. For those of you saying mustangs are poorly built pos, you are very mistakin. For those that think the gtr is bone stock, your def idiots. There fast from the factory, but there not that freakin fast. With the weight of the gtr and the trap speed and time it just posted, it was pushin in excess of 650bhp. Simple math and physics. Sorry but there isnt a 3800lbs 480hp car in the world that runs 10's......

@infantry7122 Well,.... the outgoing 2011 Super Snake producees 650 hp and comes with performance packages from Shelby that can produce 800. Same goes for 2012 Super Snake that starts out at 750 and goes up to 800. I dunno? This Mustang might be the Super Snake version of the Shelby GT500 racing here.?? They look similar.

Samurai Speed (specialized GTR tuner) ran a 10.7 in a GTR developing close 700Bhp (look it up). the GTR in this video actually even looks like the Samurai GTR.
great run for the GT500 - would have run a mid 10 also without the 75 shot easily. in this case - the GTR didn´t stand a chance.

When it comes to "Shelby", I always bring up the image of Shelby AC Cobra. I hear it was the fastest not only in drag strips but also race tracks among production cars. According to a Wikipedia, its chassis was British make. So I think Shelby GT500 would become one of the fastest production cars if it had British chassis like Mclaren or Lotus.

these are probably the 2 best cars to own where you get huge power for a few grand invested. That GT500 probably had 10K AT BEST in mods and the GTR probably had a CAI, Cobb tune and some exhaust work done(down pipe/mid pipe etc). In fact a stock turbo GTR trapped 136 MPH with full bolt ons. 2 great cars!

@proonehander this gtr was also modded and tuned genius and it ran 131 which means the ECM was flashed as well because GTR's off the lot cant pass 113 from the throttle cut off. stop the excuses. the mustang won

@proonehander a stock vette against a stock mustang gt, yes the vette will win by far. the vette also has a more aerodynamic shaped body with bigger stock tires and a stock engine with nearly a full litre more displacment and 125 more hp. so yes no shit it will win. mustangs are NOT poorly built rather they just have less power than the vette. my mustangs have taken hell from me and still ask for more. yet to have a problem with them too.

@masonizere Son how about you do YOUR research, the GTR was not a production model that ran its best time at the "Ring". Even the GTR Spec-V and 2011 GTR with more horsepower, better suspension, and less drag both finished much slower than the GTR on the run. Nissan even admitted that the GTR that ran does not have the same specs as the GTR at a dealership. If you plan on keeping your warranty and not using launch control its a drivers race in the 1/4 with a Shelby. If not buy buy tranny

@cozzey05 Research on what ? If you read my comment properly i was talking about both GT500 VS GTR stock on 1/4 Mile. If you must know the 2009 GTR that ran the Nurburgring in 7:26.7 was a production model. The Spec-V maybe quicker in straightline but has a slippery diff, so its not as good handling as the Base model. 2011 GTR has 530BHP, Nissan annouced that it runs the ring in 7:20 so wheres that being slower ? Again with you stereotypes about the warrenty its been sorted in the 2010 models.
