The performer's name is Amyr - he is really great and the group he works together with is called 'AltaiKai' - really great messengers of the Altai culture and traditions
I love Altai Kai, even though I don't understand it, I believe the trait of this style is the recital of epic poems. Just to think that my partial Anglo-Saxon heritage would also partake in oral traditions like this, makes me so pleased. Brings me back to my essence, the old storytellers and those who partook in the very stories they are telling, a tradition in probably every culture.
This is beautiful. What a sympathetic man with his accordion and incredible singing. So humble yet proud.

There really should be a video-related only filter in this comment system... I'm still loving Altai Kai thanks to this song and the link provided from the kennedy center.
when turks first came to turkey the tribes lived in yurts, then when we subdued the locals, we moved into the towns, the locals mixed, but the people never forgot their heritage
STOP TRYING TO DIVIDE, YOU'VE BEEN TAUGHT IN TEXTBOOKS TO DO SO, YOU KNOW WHY???
DIVIDE AND CONQUER IS EASIER AND MORE EFFICIENT, AND WOULD HAVE FULYL SUCCEEDED IF NOT FOR KEMAL ATATURK.
yes but we are closely related at least culturally , the mongols worshiped tengri bak in da day and used words like gok. Genghis khan used turkish soldiers in his armies
@cCcTuraniacCc yeah there is not any relation between Mongolia and Turkey.turkey is turkic influenced speaking arab armenian greek mixed people. but Mongols and Altaic turks (real turks) made so long history in the past.sometimes they were friends, sometimes they were enemies.
@XOBOPXYH ok real turks lol, your lanugage is Altaic yes, but not Turkic idiot, and also Turkish language is fully Turkic and Altaic, ı have been Mongolia but ı dont think u have been Turkei or any europan country, ı dont think you know snythign about our Language, so its not worth you to commend about it, anyway, dont reply me anymore
@XOBOPXYH haha when you heard the realirty, you started insulting, thats why ı am true haha, you are a loser.... keep insulting man, who cares mongols...
@XOBOPXYH donno how you say this.. but my family is turkic not turkic influenced..
there are mixed up ppl in turkey like every nation in the world is mixed up.. but you cannot say tha0t we are not real turks even the village i came is full of real turks with altaic faces! some more some or less..
so dont ever say it again I know where my ancestors came from!
ok now i am convinced! you are definitely not mongol! no mongol would say "chinese better than.."
if you are no turkic then shut your mouth and don't say stupid things just listen to the music and enjoy it if not go to your mommy and cry..
what do you think you are? you even dont now me or the most ppl you judge.. i think you have some brain damage or you are just 11 years old.. if so just drink some milk to grow :)
@XOBOPXYH what are you? are you turkic? no? if not then shut up! Shut up! you don't have the right to say who turk are or not! we turks decide who belong to us!
so shut up and never say somthing about us, you are no turk so shut up!
mongols didnt have real contact with arabs so they don't have a big relationship to arabs they dont have a mind about them its just like asking a bushman about eskimo - so I ask you where do you live?
even if I habe slit eyes my headshape and skin is not same as amyr akchins - for example..
but I do not look asian like chinese! no turk looks asian like chinese and no real mongol look asian like a chinese, they have slit eyes but they look very different!
@XOBOPXYH so you are a idiot i bet you even don't live in mongolia you don't have any spitrit of mongol! you also could b a chinese they have problem with uyghur turks uyghur turks are muslims so it yould be there are haters of muslims/ turks..
because you hate them it shows that you don't live in mongolia, mongolians have no realtionship to arabs, no hate nothing to do with them, you live outside or you ar not mongol.. so your hate comes from tv or propaganda outside of mongolia
@XOBOPXYH also turks didn'T "fuck" them how you said.. turks where broad-minded noble and they where not raciest or haters of mankind they respected all living beings thats why you can find turks as jews, christians, Buddhisms, tengriism and the majority of us are muslims!
we turks were invited to islam and we acceptet it by ourselves! so you as non turk should just shut up if you are mongolian then be like cengis han he was tolerant to other religions!
@XOBOPXYH PS I am not hairy! I don't have much hair in my face and not much on my body.. (all from nature not creating by shaving my hairs) so you are wrong I am not hairy and you?
You said: ' I'm a Turk'... But your ID name is krtmgl and here mgl is used . So if you are Turk, you shouldn't be using "mgl" which means MONGOLIA in it . You can't be a Turk and a MONGOLIAN at the same time.
"mgl" is not referring to Mongolia, or Mongols, but even if it did I could be Turk and "Mongol" at the same time. Especially since in Mongol empire most Turkic military men etc. were considered as "Mongols" officially, and we Turks and Mongols are Altaic speaking and origin, hence concepts of "brotherhood", etc.

It's not even an issue of purity verses mixed, Turkey simply has almost NO genes from the original Turkic invaders. The vast majority of Turkey is descended from the native population that was living there even before the Turkic soldiers came. Most anthropologists agree that based on the DNA differences between Turkey and Central Asia, Turkish became the language through elite dominance process with almost very little genetic contribution. Face the facts, face science.
fuck science, the fact is the world tries to divide, and the europeans say small diffrences make turkic and tuk diffrent then they turn rite around and form a european union
all i am saying is that the people of turkey and people of central asia have common culture
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
So what if the culture and language is similar to Central Asia? Why the hell not? Turkey was basically a Turkic colony for almost 800 years, just like how the Americas were English and Spanish colonies. Mexico is similar to Spain in language, but are Mexicans Spaniards? Fuck no.
WHOA. He really caught me off guard... like, when it said "throat singing" and I listened to the beginning I was like, "... this sounds just like regular singing... :B doy." and then he whipped out that super deep voice... and he kinda scared me. XD This is so cool, I've never heard of this before. It kind of reminds me of Popeye... x3 hope that isn't offensive to anyone...

Turkish straits talks. Turkey is Turkish until the pacific. This is our music. God has united, and as before you judge the Turks make .. Allahu Ekber.
what the fuck is wrong with you, turks are just praising their ancestorial culture
and we are the only one of the turkish nations that havent been conquered and raped by chinese and soviets and so we have a duty to preserve this culture and embrace it...
the english came up with the word turkic in encyclopedia brittanica in 1908, to divide us
im not saying turks of turkey are superior but that we are all turks, from mongolia and the siberian highlands to istanbul
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
What ancestral culture? No Turkish songs sounds remotely similar to this song or any Altaic song from Central Asia except for the more Iranian influenced ones. Your culture is closer to Middle East and Anatolia than Central Asia.
people like u fall for the russian/british/chinese plans to divide our people
on ur channel u say turkic and turk is diffrent
did u know the word turkic came into existence in ~1911 in the encyclopedia britannica, guess who wrote that??
there are even british reports of it being a propaganda technique to aid their russian allies, and themselves as well, from a possible rekindling of turkish nationalism in central asia
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Are you telling me that the Turkish of Turkey are genetically related to the Chuvash, Kazaks, Kyrgyz, Altai, Nogai, Yakut, Tatar, etc.????? Get the fuck out of here.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
First of all, language is a terrible way to tell DNA. I speak English, am I an Anglo-Saxon now? And please, not study ever said 60-70%. The most liberal figures put it at 30% while the most conservative put it at 9%. But 9% figure was paternal genes, as in the genes from the male warriors, which is a better indicator.
actually language similarities are the prime way to test relations between peoples...
study found 40% with genes, and soem 20-30 more percent with partial genes
read histroy dipshit
seljuk and his peoples tribes, numbering several hundred thousand migrated to the middle east, during seljuk rule, turks settled in azerbaijan, northern iraq, western iran, and turkey
during ottoman army, many more millions of tatars and turks fled from russia to turkey
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
You're a fucking retard, language is the worst way to test for genetic affinity, especially when the languages was an imperial, elite-dominant language like Turkic. If it was based on language for genes, then shouldn't the Turkish have the same haplogroups as Yakuts, Kazaks, and Altais? Well, they DON'T. Are all the English speakers in the world genetically related? No, you fucking retard. That was probably the stupidest thing I have ever read. Turkey is not Turkic, simple as that.
Theres a lot of Kazakh even in Türkiye who have run away from the chinese & Uyghurs as well. Just in the far east of Turkiye(VAN) there a complete Kyrgyz village of a population of 4000. But majority of Turks in Turkiye are from the Türkmen-Özbek-Tatar background.
Even ATATÜRK was a Türkmen from Karaman whose ancestors migrated 2 Macedonia. We TURKS r warriors. Once we go somewhere we stay there unlike the mongolians who r just visitors.
YES they r u fuken dickhead. How many times hav u been 2 Turkiye or how long hav u lived there. Have u gone 2 the villages? There a lot of Nogay Tatar in Turkiye. Just from where Im from in Ankara theres fuken heaps of Tatar/Nogay villages & weve all mixed up. As in the Turkmen have mixed up with the Tatar, the Tatar with the Karaçay, the Kazak with the Türkmen.
The Turks of Turkiye r mostly Türkmen. When the Selçuk Türkmen came to Anotolia there were already non muslim Turks in Anotolia. So if u ever have 2 compare Türkish music or culture itll have 2 b Türkmen culture. Of course there are non Turks in Türkiye as likein every other country in the world as well but majority of Türkiye is TURK. There a lot of Tatar Turks, Özbek, Kazakh Kyrgyz.Karaçay Balkar Gagauz Peçenek & so on but I would love 2 see Altay Tuva Hakas Turks as well in Turkiye.
It seems any video is cause for heated debate. I'm personally tired of people straying from comments about the actual video. Oh no! I've become one of them!

Whoever said that this is Russian music is a fucking idiot. I am Mongolian, and not only is the throat singing Altaic, the melody from the accordion is very similar to many old Mongolian songs. I love this song, I love my own Altaic culture and people. Fuck white people who want me to think any different.

mongols didnt have real contact with arabs so they don't have a big relationship to arabs they dont have a mind about them its just like asking a bushman about eskimo - so I ask you where do you live?

because you hate them it shows that you don't live in mongolia, mongolians have no realtionship to arabs, no hate nothing to do with them, you live outside or you ar not mongol.. so your hate comes from tv or propaganda outside of mongolia
xorrot16 1 year ago
@XOBOPXYH also turks didn'T "fuck" them how you said.. turks where broad-minded noble and they where not raciest or haters of mankind they respected all living beings thats why you can find turks as jews, christians, Buddhisms, tengriism and the majority of us are muslims!
we turks were invited to islam and we acceptet it by ourselves! so you as non turk should just shut up if you are mongolian then be like cengis han he was tolerant to other religions!

You said: ' I'm a Turk'... But your ID name is krtmgl and here mgl is used . So if you are Turk, you shouldn't be using "mgl" which means MONGOLIA in it . You can't be a Turk and a MONGOLIAN at the same time.
weagaa 2 years ago
"mgl" is not referring to Mongolia, or Mongols, but even if it did I could be Turk and "Mongol" at the same time. Especially since in Mongol empire most Turkic military men etc. were considered as "Mongols" officially, and we Turks and Mongols are Altaic speaking and origin, hence concepts of "brotherhood", etc.

after battle of manzikert there were hundreds of nomadic turkish tribes entering anatolia
they settled down and one of them 'kayi' eventually started the ottoman empire
our language, tactics, culture have been same since then

of course we are not purely central asian anymore
we ruled an empire of millions of diffrent ethnicites, and therfore mixed
but saying the pop. and culture, and language of turkey is not extremely similar to those of central asia is retarded
efe122 2 years ago 4
This comment has received too many negative votes show
It's not even an issue of purity verses mixed, Turkey simply has almost NO genes from the original Turkic invaders. The vast majority of Turkey is descended from the native population that was living there even before the Turkic soldiers came. Most anthropologists agree that based on the DNA differences between Turkey and Central Asia, Turkish became the language through elite dominance process with almost very little genetic contribution. Face the facts, face science.
yanks65 2 years ago
fuck science, the fact is the world tries to divide, and the europeans say small diffrences make turkic and tuk diffrent then they turn rite around and form a european union
all i am saying is that the people of turkey and people of central asia have common culture
and our ancestors came from there
tho most of our pop is diffrent now
and for u r info
i have aunts that are asian looking

So what if the culture and language is similar to Central Asia? Why the hell not? Turkey was basically a Turkic colony for almost 800 years, just like how the Americas were English and Spanish colonies. Mexico is similar to Spain in language, but are Mexicans Spaniards? Fuck no.

and we are the only one of the turkish nations that havent been conquered and raped by chinese and soviets and so we have a duty to preserve this culture and embrace it...
the english came up with the word turkic in encyclopedia brittanica in 1908, to divide us
im not saying turks of turkey are superior but that we are all turks, from mongolia and the siberian highlands to istanbul

What ancestral culture? No Turkish songs sounds remotely similar to this song or any Altaic song from Central Asia except for the more Iranian influenced ones. Your culture is closer to Middle East and Anatolia than Central Asia.
yanks65 2 years ago
are u crazy
first of all our food is literally the same as that in central asia.. and for ur information we dont eat kebab all day long >.>
second, our language is about 50-70 percents intelligible with those of central asia
third our musical instruments, and songs are very central asian themed too
dont say we got that from arabs or greeks, cause were the ones who ruled them for 600 years, so they learned from thr masters ;)
efe122 2 years ago 5
people like u fall for the russian/british/chinese plans to divide our people
on ur channel u say turkic and turk is diffrent
did u know the word turkic came into existence in ~1911 in the encyclopedia britannica, guess who wrote that??
there are even british reports of it being a propaganda technique to aid their russian allies, and themselves as well, from a possible rekindling of turkish nationalism in central asia
and thr u r, falling for this shit....

Are you telling me that the Turkish of Turkey are genetically related to the Chuvash, Kazaks, Kyrgyz, Altai, Nogai, Yakut, Tatar, etc.????? Get the fuck out of here.
yanks65 2 years ago
Studies show that 60-70 percent of the people of turkey have at least partial central asian genes( thats 95 percent of the 'turk' pop)
i know tons of asian looking turks...
in zeytinburnu, istanbul, which sultan mehmet colonized with nomadic turks, everyone is asian looking.

First of all, language is a terrible way to tell DNA. I speak English, am I an Anglo-Saxon now? And please, not study ever said 60-70%. The most liberal figures put it at 30% while the most conservative put it at 9%. But 9% figure was paternal genes, as in the genes from the male warriors, which is a better indicator.
yanks65 2 years ago
actually language similarities are the prime way to test relations between peoples...
study found 40% with genes, and soem 20-30 more percent with partial genes
read histroy dipshit
seljuk and his peoples tribes, numbering several hundred thousand migrated to the middle east, during seljuk rule, turks settled in azerbaijan, northern iraq, western iran, and turkey
during ottoman army, many more millions of tatars and turks fled from russia to turkey
