This is great, :3 Definitely good, and that's a big extension cord man. I love the camera work too. I wonder how they made it, I thought that the camera man was just walking with it following the cord, then he started speeding up, like he was on a bike or motorcycle, but because it went under the oil truck, that theory was spent, unless it was a double take and they merged both takes in one shot somehow. Though this is 1985, so I doubt it worked like that. I like this though. :3

(Fogerty had relinquished copy and publishing rights of his Creedence songs to Zaentz and Fantasy, in exchange for release from his contractual obligations to same.) Zaentz sued (Fantasy, Inc. v. Fogerty) but the defendant Fogerty ultimately prevailed when he showed that the two songs were different.

A little elucidation on just who "the old man down the road" is. Remeber that CCR and Fogerty were both into what critics call "swamp rock." I do think that the inescapable old man is a metaphor for death, but more specifically, he's the local "root" man--a traveling conjurer--and you'd best be nice or he'll put a spell on you.

Also, at the time, it was over a decade since John Fogerty did his last album; most of his work was with CCR. And the music video was relatively new when this came out. I don't think at the time that John was comfortable doing this form of media. So when he was in disguise, it was a good move 'til the end; also John walked by in the middle of the video with the girl at the phone booth. Ultimately when the cord ended, you eventually saw John.

Got this - the Centerfield album I mean - when it came out in 1984, remember watching the video and thinking it was brilliant, apart from the pleasure of having John Fogerty back, finally! This was from his first solo album and Creedence Clearwater Revival had split up in 1972!

Only replied honestly.
