  • ANSWER: For a long time, movies and television have been about profit, not art. As long as folks will line up and dutifully trudge into theaters to watch the same rehashed crap, that's what we will be offered. Our best bet is to save our money and spend it on the better quality movies/TV; then maybe they'll get the idea that quality beats quantity. (But don't hold your breath)

  • read tha books read tha books read tha books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! somebody should make movies of them all!!!!

  • QUESTION: Why does Hollywood keep churning out GARBAGE?! WHY CANT THEY MAKE A MOVIE with the same attention to detail, the same vision, the same SCALE as an Anime movie like this? I mean, look at this shit, its about 25 years old and it looks fuckin' awesome. Sure, the clothes and characters are dated, but look at the sets. Look at the ships, look at the consoles and control panels, look at the depth... look at the scale of space. Hollywood BLOWS. I am so disappointed with Hollywood SciFI.

  • @mrjustin5 i have to say, the new Battlestar Galactica is good, what I have seen of it, but in general, I agree with you. Enough said.

  • @ARP7777777 Thanks! I haven't watched TV in over 10+ yrs. I watched Battle Star Galactica remake on netflix. was shocked how GOOD that show is and how it covers many angles and situations that would really unfold in such conditions. I haven't watched any SciFi since Stark Trek: The Next Generation and X-Files. I keep day-dreaming of a good sci-fi movie, with similar ships & control panels as The Lensman & a game called System Shock 2. Hollywood will never make as good a movie as my imagination.

  • @mrjustin5 COMPLETELY AGREE. Sadly, there has been no good Sci-fi in decades.. I got excited for the Hitchhikers Guide movie adaptation, but was met with sore dissapointment. As an artist, I can definitely relate to the whole Hollywood will never make a movie that satisfies my imagination (although Avatar was pretty close)

  • @mrjustin5 give them a chance kid...looks like John Carter might change your mind ^^
