  • i saw this at the rensance festival or whatever

  • You misspelled "TONE"

  • I went to the Renaissance a few days ago and listened to him play this song... gave me such chills!

  • I saw this guy at the Renaissance Festival as well a few years ago. He is a wonderful musician. This carillion is set up almost like a pipe organ with keyboards he pounds with his fists (and rolls), and a full set of foot pedals. I would love to have a go at this instrument since I'm a pianist & pipe organist.

  • This is amazing, and great playing. Is there more video of this particular instrument? Does it and it's player(s) have a website?

  • Who is the artist?

  • @CharlotteFairchild

    Look up "Carillon Bells Man"

  • OMG! aweeeeesome.

  • Did he have pedals, or is this all by hand? The only church carillon I actually saw only had a hand keyboard and the performer was standing.

  • @jarod997 pedals and by hand--thanks for commenting.

  • speechless O:

  • The player has great skill BTW! Especially the fist rolls...not easy to get it timely ;P

  • Wow! The sound is just wonderful...it really didn't need the background accompaniment.

  • compton3c, thank you for such a magnificent performance of this beautiful song. You put a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat. Thank you! Bravo, Maestro!

  • Yes, thanks for replying. Sorry I missed replying til now: school, etc.

  • Awesome video. This would have been awesome if you were able to get a shot behind the carillion player himself. That would have been neat.

  • Thanks for your lovely comment. It would've been more awesome if I had my HD camera then, too. Of course, YouTube wasn't doing HD art that time.

  • Wow... Carrol of The Bell played using a bells..... Totally Awesome

  • Thanks, they are awesome. I've been playing the Christmas music CD I got from there lately, as well as watching this many times.

  • i live in colorado and this dude plays it on one of these and you can here it all over the fair its is so loud and big. and the dude wore a exicutinatures outfit and its so errie in person it chills the bones

  • Not this is the best carols of the bell that I have ever heard. Im just sad i wasnt there to really hear it in person. I always think that this song has an eerie air to it and it just fits it...

  • Thanks, they still were nice to see since I've never seen anything like that, but now I have and I will again.

  • This is just awesome. This instrument is perfect for the Carol of the Bells. I got to hear/see it performed at the CO Ren fest. Maybe that was you! Just so powerful and soooo cool.

  • Thanks Mitheralnaiad, they are awesome. But this was at the Texas Ren. Festival. He had the speakers covered with the threat of rain but that may've helped bring out the bells more to the forefront.

  • Great job with these!

    Jim

  • Thanks Jim.

I tried uploading the first in higher quality and YouTube sqeezed it like a box, so I got frustrated and just uploaded it raw video from then on out! At least it's not squeezed. I don't feel like, nor can afford, high dollar vid equip to go widescreen, etc., which they'd probably squeeze it like a box, too.
