Great video never seen seeding done like that, from what I gather from the comments the thing that was reflecting off the ground in rows is plastic? Just want to make sure I'm thinking the right thing. U are correct about the 6930, it's a premium one to
Yes, that's the plastic. It's about 18" wide and covers two rows of seed. The machine lays three double rows each pass and covers the edges with soil to hold them down.
I am in the process of buying one is it a wise to do so,and if so how much more grain do you get? let know please

Sorry, I have no idea. Someone else might know but it so depends on the weather (in the UK it does, anyway).

Bet you're right. It wojld be right fiddly because it's all encased in boxes of seed, fertiliser, or herbicide.

Nice vid! Maybe you have video where we can see how plastic is removed?

To jlglobuss
It isn't removed. It's bio-degradable and rots down on its own.

Thanks very much. Didn't seem to make much difference this year, though harvesting was couple of weeks earlier.

Why the pastic? Nice vid as always!

Plastic keeps it warm and wet so it grows faster. Seems to be used most in marginal areas - warmer climes don't need it!
