I killed him again at 120 lol. Not sure what level I was when I killed him the first time on another character, but I fought him in that room. It's a lot easier to dodge his attacks in there compared to the narrow path leading up to the mausoleum . The first time I killed him I just equipped thief's ring and cast poison cloud a couple of times and he doesn't attack! I felt proud when I fought him head on though the second time :)

wrong, you can dupe weapons/armor/rings by meeting a friend in mp, he drops it and turns off his ps3...duh...also you can dupe upgrade ores...one of the most important parts of the game, not just souls and consumables....and this video proves nothing, he could have poisoned him 99% of the way and hit him once to kill him...
Your obviously not as knowledgeable about Demons Souls as you pretend to be. You can only upgrade the Demonbrandt after beating the game...there's only 1 upgrade path and thats with the Soulbrandt to make the Northern Regalia. However it can easily be duped from a friend without doing NG+

Poison Cloud works wonders on this guy. Cast it once, stay out of his way for 3 minutes and bam, 1/3 of his health is gone. Repeat twice more and he'll be dead without having to exert any real effort.
Alternatively, equip Thief's Ring, use Poison/Death Cloud. Hang tight and keep out of sight and he's a goner, you might have to use it a couple times, but just pop out use it and run and you'll be fine.
Poison Cloud you get from Leechmonger's Soul.
Death Cloud you get from the Pureblood Soul (Astraea).
@jklg1123 If your person tendency is white demonbrandt will do more damage, same with soulbrandt but its damage increases as your person tendency goes into the black. So if you don't kill good npcs demonbradt should do more damage. I'm not sure if invading a world will shift your tendency though.

I know a really easy way to kill this mofo in ng+. Get morion blade and clever rats ring, then get your hp below 30+. Walk in with your most powerful weapon and you can backstab him to death in about 5 hits.
ppl if you are having problems with npcs/enemies/invaders healing cast death cloud and healin will not be effective you have to get the pureblood demons soul from 5-2 and sage freke to teach you the spell

I found an even easier way of killing him (after many tries of melee combat!).. just equip the thief's ring and stand close enough to get him affected by poison cloud, but not so he sees you, cast it and wait... he will never heal himself or even approach you. it took me 3 casts of poison cloud but it ofc depends on your mp. i'm still using his sword and armour in my NG

@MrNinja888 yea I actually found a way to be able to stay in human form and keep ur demon souls when u die. only bad thing tho is its cheap and kind of ruins the game for others.
lol my trick is when i die i flick the switch on the back of the PS3 before my guy stands all the way up after the loading screen and then next time you turn on the game you'll start a little bit before you died with all your souls, and you'll be alive still.

Nice strategy. You can also use the Meat Cleaver (strongest hammer weapon in the game), which will knock Doran to the ground, giving you time to back up and rebuild stamina. You can kill him in around 5 minutes this way.

Lol I'm attempting to do this at level 4 on my new character. I couldn't really kill the enemy before Doran so I usually lead him off a high spot on the staircase. Some kid had this sword before he had beaten the first boss.
Killing Ostrava is the best way to go, unless you want a pure clearstone or don't want to change character tendency towards black. In NG+, I killed him the first time I saw him.
Yeah that make sense just wait to renew your membership when MW2 hits. I might have to hold off on MW2 for awhile since I still haven't found a job :/

This thing is just crazy hard--I've powerleveled my strength up to 30 just so I could hold the tower shield (the best damage-resistant shield in the game) to beat him--and he still hits my health with each hit. I'm even less mobile and I can barely touch him. :(

lol i feel like such a noob saying this i level 76 and i have 30 strength and 24 faith and 20 dexterity [most important stats for weapon] i used the meat cleaver wit CURSE WEAPON i hit him dead on 32 times and i barely got his health down 25% i got bored of doing thisd for one 1 pluss hour and tried to use +5 quality uchigatana with CURSE WEAPON AND HE STILL NO DIE!!!! FIRST PLAYTHROUGH; IS IT GLITCH OR WHAT BUT I KILLED DIRTY Collasus thing in 5 hits with meat cleaver and curse weapon

I found an even easier way of killing him (after many tries of melee combat!).. just equip the thief's ring and stand close enough to get him affected by poison cloud, but not so he sees you, cast it and wait... he will never heal himself or even approach you. it took me 3 casts of poison cloud but it ofc depends on your mp. i'm still using his sword and armour in my NG

then you wont be able to kill him if you cant get past the red eyed knight, i use my makoto +5 on the red knight and 3 hits he is down

@MrNinja888 I said my last comment when my stats wernt that great and I had a weak weapon. however I my stats have gotting a little bit stronger sense my comment and my soul level is about 35 now so I think I can kill if I want only problem now is finding that key

@MrNinja888 yea I actually found a way to be able to stay in human form and keep ur demon souls when u die. only bad thing tho is its cheap and kind of ruins the game for others.

lol my trick is when i die i flick the switch on the back of the PS3 before my guy stands all the way up after the loading screen and then next time you turn on the game you'll start a little bit before you died with all your souls, and you'll be alive still.

Nice strategy. You can also use the Meat Cleaver (strongest hammer weapon in the game), which will knock Doran to the ground, giving you time to back up and rebuild stamina. You can kill him in around 5 minutes this way.

Lol I'm attempting to do this at level 4 on my new character. I couldn't really kill the enemy before Doran so I usually lead him off a high spot on the staircase. Some kid had this sword before he had beaten the first boss.

Killing Ostrava is the best way to go, unless you want a pure clearstone or don't want to change character tendency towards black. In NG+, I killed him the first time I saw him.
