I've never cared too much for any of the "Core" bands. However i feel that after the burials sense of rhythm and melody transcend them beyond petty labels. To me they represent the culmination of the last 10 years of heavy metal music.
These boys are enormously talented, i hope they stay with us for years to come

@punkrockdrummer Djent is where the rhythms in the guitars and the bass drum match, doesn't have anything to do with the tuning. Yeah they use more strings, but they're tuned to the note that those strings are normally tuned to.

@punkrockdrummer You're absolutely right in saying there's good reasons for making genre distinctions and for that reason I was probably a little to hasty in my comments. Just drives me crazy that I've listened to some of these bands for years and out of nowhere I hear some strange genre name that I've never heard of. And In large part that's due to my ignorance because I don't necessarily research to far into it. Long and short of it is I just wish we could all simply say. "I listen to Metal".
@bmwluvr2003 Norma Jean deserves to be headlining. They've been touring longer than you've probably been alive. And this is coming from someone who has seen After The Burial 12 times and they are my favorite band.
@DoCrazyShit In Dreams is pretty damn good.. I guess it's all based on taste but I'd personally prefer the re-issue of Rareform and In Dreams to their older stuff off Forging A Future Self. That album was still amazing but In Dreams blows my mind.
@GillyMayte I still listened to In Dreams but I found the writing to be much less inspired. I agree that Rareform was probably the best album from this band because it had a fresh breath of originality to it. In Dreams just seemed like a slightly less original re-hash of Rareform to me.
@DoCrazyShit Yeah, I can see where you're coming from If you compare In Dreams (from a musically technical and progressive aspect) to Forging A Future Self and Rareform... The other 2 albums take the cake. The songs to In Dreams seemed a little dumbed down. But overall, I still really enjoyed it.

@Dpiiiius I've been to two shows, i personally enjoy the front end of the pit, like a layer of people away that way when Drifts comes on and they massacre you with the breakdown at the end you can just fly into the pit and destroy

@ARKAEA33 Most vocalists prefer a wired mic, especially screaming vocalists. The mics are much slimmer, and the wire is, a lot of the time, used for comfort. It also allows for mic tricks. I'm speaking as a vocalist, myself. I wouldn't know how to function, and it wouldn't seem right to have a wireless mic.
