This is just delightful! I made it three times since finding your recipe. Once I grated a bit of fresh orange rind and added walnuts. It is just delicious. Thank you.
I love orange cake...I will definitely try this recipe for Christmas and let you know how it turned out. I don't have a bundt cake pan...I'll use a regular circular pan instead.
OMGGGGGG imma so try this i have done a few things you made and loved them and think imma love this one to, this weekend im doin a bake sale hope you dont mind if i bake some of your things
@LindzeeKeem Probably about half the time. Bake until they start to look dry on top and don't jiggle when you move the pan. Stick a toothpick in the center of one and if it comes out clean, they will be done
Thank you thank you THANK YOU! I suck at making cake from scratch and you are just what I need to 'cheat' a little! Thanks for the yum! I hope my secret's safe with you! ;)
@yoyomax12 Well, your cake broke when you removed that funnel thing.I still have my 25 year old heavy NordicWare bundt pan.I just spray it real good with Pam or the Pam for baking ( with flour in it ).
@HattieLovesCattie I don't think there is anything wrong with my cake pan, it belonged to my grandmother and is older that me, I think that greasing and flouring it would have made a difference. The cakes usually come out well in it, but this was a cake mix and kind of crumbly.
Tammy, this is another recipe I will be trying!!! You are hands down my #1 favourite for YT cook/baker! Thank you so much. This looks delicious and easy and I'll let people think I slaved over this rather than using my secret ingredients of a cake mix and jello!
Again .. Yummy .. Love Orange cake ... don't know if it would be Weight Watchers friendly though LOL :P But .. hey that's what the flex points are for right? LOL
Cake doesn't get eaten quickly here, I don't make very many of them, so I haven't tried the different flavours. I'm sure you could vary it easily. I'm thinking strawberry or raspberry would be good!
Mine did collapse a bit when I checked on it in the oven, so it was a bit denser that it should have been. The Angel food pan certainly cuts down on the time it takes to bake a cake.
when i tried to take the cake out of the pan it split into two. leaving the bottom still in the pan even after i greased the puppy. It was still a bit liquidy and I was afraid that if i left in longer i would burn it. I think the angel food pan is something better to be used with his instead of a regular cake pan
oh wow i made a fruit cake once that had orange jelly crystals included and it was yum. lost the recipe long ago. i think i had to soak the fruit inthe jelly. anyhow maybe u can do a modification and add sultanahs or mix fruit. looks yum as usual well done!
Just starting a new comment since I can't find mine...but that is one of the reasons my desserts are few and far between. It is usually just me and mom who will eat anything and both of us diabetic... well, I had two high blood sugars so while not considered diabetic, they still call you diabetic, which I think is weird.
I bring my baking to work quite often, I love to bake the stuff but I also like to eat it. I can barely fit into jeans I bought in September last year!!! ugh.
Oh yum that cakes looks awesome!! Are you getting these recipes from a book?? Glad you showed how you did the glaze I still have trouble with glazes *hides head*
looks very nice...you can even make a honey glaze and dust desiccated coconut powder it taste really good...I made orange cake at my baking school its been a long time now i shall try this recipe you've made it very simple and easy....thanks tammy <3
Is there any thing you can use besides orange extract because they don't sell those here where I live
mae3plets 1 month ago
@mae3plets You could use a bit of orange juice, but the flavour won't be as intense

@icyblue1975 That is what is great about these "from a mix" recipes, you get the ease of a mix but still get to add a "home made" touch to them.
yoyomax12 1 year ago
@yoyomax12 One last quick question. Do you think I could make this in a regular cake pan?
icyblue1975 1 year ago
@icyblue1975 Yes you can!

@catsmew Because it was in the recipe and it sounded different and interesting.
It did add a nice bright colour and orange taste.

first attempt was a fail. Put two jelatin packets instead of one and I used a regular cake pan. So im getting an angel food pan next time.
DJTALLGEESE013579 2 years ago
How was it a fail? Did the cake fall?
Mine did collapse a bit when I checked on it in the oven, so it was a bit denser that it should have been. The Angel food pan certainly cuts down on the time it takes to bake a cake.
