I'm buying the SRC 416 with the M4 length barrel. Gonna cost me extra to get the M120 spring installed, but I hear this thing is a beast with it.

And yes SRC guns are exceptional quality, especially for their very affordable price. I love their guns.

I got their G36K, I'm getting a G&P M120 motor to improve the rate of fire but I love that gun. My only complaint is the scope, but all airsoft G36 scopes have unusably short eye relief so I don't blame SRC.

if a round is jammed in the receiver, the forward assist "assists" the round into the reciever so that it can be fired.

Well, it's not really to correct jams (when your gun jams, you're supposed to strip it and remove the round, then chamber a new one). It's more like added security for the first round from the magazine. I basically agree with you though.
