There's no reason to believe OJ was not devastated by the death of Nicole. They were very close by all accounts, notwithstanding their conflicts. They hung out together with the kids that very day and OJ appeared to be having a ball. No doubt he loves his kids and no reason to think he would not have wished to spare them that terrible trauma as well as a great legal burden that crushes down on him to this day. All things considered, OJ appears to be a stand-up guy who was royally screwed.
