Mud Daubers are not aggressive, generally leave humans alone, and go along with life as usual. But, they will sting an extremely brutal sting if provoked.
@CookiekingSC also, GC codes ALWAYS start with the letters "GC" and they haven't yet expanded to ten characters. learn your geocaching facts before making a making a comment like that :)
@CookiekingSC well sorry for not reading every EVERY SINGLE COMMENT before making a post. and I'm not "anti-fun geocaching is also mamby pamby no one gets hurt sorta prick either." I've done my fair share of "extreme" finds before, one of which was repelling off of a fucking sixty foot high cliff. I wasn't being an asshole in my comment and asked a simple question. I don't know what the hell your problem is but get a fucking life
Ahhhaahaa, love it!! Awesome find!! I just started caching a few weeks ago. I hunt for forgotten cemeteries and while I was in the woods about 40 miles from my house (LI-NY) I stumbled upon 2 lost travel bugs. Once I realized what they were and put them back into circulation I was hooked! One of them was "Arnies Hummer" which had come all the way from Cali! Now I'm itching to find more. Is it worth it to become a premium member? I noticed many of the finds are only open to premium members. \m/
@dreamwad1 Yeah it's worth it. It's 30 bucks for a year, but you open up much more than just premium member only caches. You can also make queries, which can do a whole bunch of stuff for you. I use them to show me how many caches are along a driving route
You can also find out when a new cache is placed within a certail mile radius (that you define) from your location, and a bunch of other things I have not delved into. Regardless, 30 bucks for a year is completely worth it in my opinion.
@LoungeFly02 - Thanks for responding. I actually broke down and became a premium member just the other day. I need to get more fluent with it though. I went on a long cemetery hunt yesterday and I was trying to locate some caches along the way but I was doing it the old way, which isn't very precise and is very time consuming. I'll have to get familiar with the query feature. That alone will be worth the $30...
@dreamwad1 What's the old way? I'm just shy of 200 caches found so I'm still relatively new too. Grats on getting premium :) Now you can really immerse yourself in the world of geocaching!
@LoungeFly02 - I just meant the way I originally picked the caches I would look for. I would look at the cache map and pick out ones I might want to look for along my route. Then I would print out the details, use my car GPS to get to the general site and then look manually... NOT EASY! Now I have a hand held and figured out how to use the queries... I'm in cache heaven!!
WOW,I live in Sacramento California and our Geo Caching Rules State we can NOT!! put Geo Caches with in a 100 and some odd feet of Bridges,Rail Road Tracks or any Government Building of any kind because of a Muggels found one once and called it in as a Bomb and the owner almost went to jail for it
the reviewer should be banned!

those are mud dobbers, not hornets, hence why the nest are made of mud/dirt

Cool, though I probably wouldn't hide something that looks like a bomb under a bridge.
