wow so easy- ready to create my cartoon- but of course I'm gonna have some issues because it's multiple vectors I'll be using- hopefully I can adapt this tutorial
help! the bottom right in cinema 4d(where u edit the settings for objects) isnt there, i accidentally clicked on *attributes* which is right on top of the place u edit objects how can i get it back!!??
that's what i was thinking. it's like, even if he didn't get money from them to plug their website/company, it's still stupid cause he paid for the package and spends half the video talking about how 'cool' they are - which sounds pretty fake, at that.
@FroggerPL click render setting button choose save then choose where to seve the exit render sttings and clich the middle render button hope that helps
Why was Photoshop ever even a step in this? Just save it out as an Illustrator 8 doc and open in C4D. I do it on a daily basis and it works pristinely.
I'm a C4D fan too, but I use 3D's Max for some reason, and that is what I do with 3DsMax too.. you can save A LOT OF TIME by skipping the photoshop thing.
"You can paste the path directly from Illustrator into Photoshop. What you have done is to rasterize then and then convert back to a path. This is not necessary"
yeah i agree with this poster. Actually I don't understand why you need to bring the graphic into PS in the first place. It's a vector object, you could've just taken the path directly from AI to C4D. There's alot of really unnecessary stuff in this tutorial, you should really consider streamlining in the future.
You can paste the path directly from Illustrator into Photoshop. What you have done is to rasterize then and then convert back to a path. This is not necessary - Photoshop has very good vector capabilites, Just copy and paste the path from one app to the other
Thank you very much. Good job showing how to use illustrtor in Cinema 4D
Suggestion: you made several mistakes in your video. Perhaps in future you could edit out the goofs. They cause a bit of confusion and make the video longer.
When you save the ai file the first time, if you save it as an old version 3 ai file you can open it in C4D without having to jump back and forth. Everything else is the same. Big time saver. Great tut though.
hey can anyone help me i am pretty shur that i did everything right but there is no drop arrow to let me see all of my paths plz help im on windows if that helps
I feel sorry for all of those people who are going to try this thinking this is an easy way to get vector art into Cinema. You could have done that whole process in less than a minute. WITH explanation. Almost makes me want to film myself doing it the right way to help all those poor folks. Maybe you should try a dry run next time to work out the kinks, or maybe do some editing.
I promise this works. With your Illustrator file open, go to save as, make sure the format is set to .eps - press 'save' . On the next screen under 'version' select 'Illustrator 8'. Now go to C4D and select 'Open'. works for me every time.
if iu can please tell me,i want to learn the 4d cinema program,so since im designing logos in illustrator i want to enhance them by making em look 3d style!but what i want to know is if flash adobe is the same with 4d cinema or are do different stuff?!or which is better to learn, cause my cash is running out for these tutorials all the time!
that was the most round-a-bout way of importing paths i've ever seen. Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't there a "import paths from illustrator" command in C4D?
too much talking for something that could have been done in less than 5 minutes. you need to prepare the tutorial before making it- that way there wouldn't be awkward pauses and "ummm" all the time. you also could have put the source of your vector file instead of talking so much about Go Media.
one more thing is, a lot of what you did was irrelevant, such as connecting paths and using photoshop.
If you save the illustrator vector file as an illustrator8 version (or earlier) you don't have to go through all the Photoshop trouble. Just go to cinema 4D and instead of open file, you go to merge. That way the vector file will be directly imported into Cinema 4D.
I'm completely new to Cinema 4d, can you make a new video starting from opening the program? I want to learn how to type into cinema 4d. I have no clue on where to start
Wow! Thanks a ton. For years I have been wondering about how to do this.

Correct. You don't need to use Photoshop at all. Just open the Illustrator eps file directly into C4D (has to be saved back to Illustrator v8)
