  • Dave,

if i don't have photoshop, can I do it in photoshop"elements" or in the final cut pro suite? I've been trying without alot of luck.

    Thanks

  • It look like You sametimes have no idea what You'r doing. But still, good to know that this is possible.

  • help! the bottom right in cinema 4d(where u edit the settings for objects) isnt there, i accidentally clicked on *attributes* which is right on top of the place u edit objects how can i get it back!!??

  • that's what i was thinking. it's like, even if he didn't get money from them to plug their website/company, it's still stupid cause he paid for the package and spends half the video talking about how 'cool' they are - which sounds pretty fake, at that.

  • too complicated! skip the photoshop part.

export the Illustrator file as "Illustrator 8" version.

import that file in Cinema as you used to.

works in all Cinema versions i know.

  • Nice tutorial....it realy helpt me :)

  • click render setting button choose save then choose where to seve the exit render sttings and clich the middle render button hope that helps

  • How i save something to avi or to a data so i can use it on my video as an intro etc?? pls help

  • awesome!!!

  • Why was Photoshop ever even a step in this? Just save it out as an Illustrator 8 doc and open in C4D. I do it on a daily basis and it works pristinely.

  • @WDKYFOX56 That's exactly what I was thinking.

I'm a C4D fan too, but I use 3D's Max for some reason, and that is what I do with 3DsMax too.. you can save A LOT OF TIME by skipping the photoshop thing.

Like.. what the fuck? It's beyond irrational.

  • "You can paste the path directly from Illustrator into Photoshop. What you have done is to rasterize then and then convert back to a path. This is not necessary"

yeah i agree with this poster. Actually I don't understand why you need to bring the graphic into PS in the first place. It's a vector object, you could've just taken the path directly from AI to C4D. There's alot of really unnecessary stuff in this tutorial, you should really consider streamlining in the future.

  • omg you talk for waaaaaaay to long at the beginning, just get to the good stuff and start the tutorial !!!

  • Hi. You've provided a very good tutorial!!!

But isn't it possible to convert that picture by using only Photoshop or CorelDraw?

  • your the best thanks man

  • You can paste the path directly from Illustrator into Photoshop. What you have done is to rasterize then and then convert back to a path. This is not necessary - Photoshop has very good vector capabilites, Just copy and paste the path from one app to the other

  • Thank you very much. Good job showing how to use illustrtor in Cinema 4D

Suggestion: you made several mistakes in your video. Perhaps in future you could edit out the goofs. They cause a bit of confusion and make the video longer.

    Just a suggestion

  • awsome tutorial...very clear nd understandable...thank you friend

  • Thanks, really helpful tutorial, good stuff.

  • Amazing tutorial! Really helped! Thanks alot!

  • Very nice! This gives a good start for doing 3d stuff! Thnks

  • I'm a noob regarding Cinema 4D. But your small tutorial make it look so simple :))

  • Great work!

    Thx for posting that tut.

  • if you like to see the cinema history watch *BIRTH OF CINEMA* in youtube and enjoy!!

  • damn its that easy great tutorial

  • When you save the ai file the first time, if you save it as an old version 3 ai file you can open it in C4D without having to jump back and forth. Everything else is the same. Big time saver. Great tut though.

  • Very very nice tutorial, learned a lot, started using Cinema 4D a couple of days ago and tutorials like these seriously help a lot! :) 5stars

can you take that and save it as an image

  • Thanks so much that really helped!

  • Thank you so much!

  • if it is so much easyer, plz post a video!

    Im newbee at the programm

  • I feel sorry for all of those people who are going to try this thinking this is an easy way to get vector art into Cinema. You could have done that whole process in less than a minute. WITH explanation. Almost makes me want to film myself doing it the right way to help all those poor folks. Maybe you should try a dry run next time to work out the kinks, or maybe do some editing.

  • plz do maan

  • longest way to make an easy logo...

  • Correct. You don't need to use Photoshop at all. Just open the Illustrator eps file directly into C4D (has to be saved back to Illustrator v8)

  • i saved back to v8 and it wouldnt open...

  • I promise this works. With your Illustrator file open, go to save as, make sure the format is set to .eps - press 'save' . On the next screen under 'version' select 'Illustrator 8'. Now go to C4D and select 'Open'. works for me every time.

  • Wouldnt open up an eps, but saving it as an ai file in version 8 worked. woop woop.

  • what is it for a version? i have: Cinema 4D Releas 10 (no MoGraph) FULL VERSION but it dosent work... :(

  • what os are u on pc or mac if mac i can help you alot

  • Mac, look at the bar at the top. Docks are not the only unmistakable feature of macintoshes.

  • that was the most round-a-bout way of importing paths i've ever seen. Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't there a "import paths from illustrator" command in C4D?

  • you dont need ps for that. just use illustrator legacy witch comes p when you save stuff. save as ai version 6 or 7. and you can import to c4d

  • hi cinema 4d very nice software...

where can i download for free...

i want to try this new stuff?!?!

  • go to google and type in cinema 4d, and you'll find the demo version, its free

  • cheers m8!! good tut! glad to see some quality sometime!

  • exelent 5/5

  • You should appreciate that he's taking his time to help others

  • too much talking for something that could have been done in less than 5 minutes. you need to prepare the tutorial before making it- that way there wouldn't be awkward pauses and "ummm" all the time. you also could have put the source of your vector file instead of talking so much about Go Media.

one more thing is, a lot of what you did was irrelevant, such as connecting paths and using photoshop.

10 minutes was way over the top.

  • ooh nice...........

  • cool i just made mine it looks sick

  • u talk sooooooooo many shyttttttttt

  • what mac you use?

  • u have to pay for it fuck that

  • THANK YOU

  • If you save the illustrator vector file as an illustrator8 version (or earlier) you don't have to go through all the Photoshop trouble. Just go to cinema 4D and instead of open file, you go to merge. That way the vector file will be directly imported into Cinema 4D.

  • also there's no need to connect the paths. Just drop them all in an extrude nurbs and hit the 'hierarchy' button.

  • Very awesome, I didn't know it was so easy, and how you could use PS to create the vectors for it! cheers!

  • OK... way too much time spent talking about Go Media.

  • @ThinkBachs well i skiped it so i dint buy his shitty aadvert!

  • Really cool man, thanks a lot

  • Very nice! i was doing it more harder, without photoshop. Going with the line from an edge to other

  • in the description, tutroial?

  • just nice :)

  • very nice!

  • I'm completely new to Cinema 4d, can you make a new video starting from opening the program? I want to learn how to type into cinema 4d. I have no clue on where to start

  • Yes, I agree. Could you teach us the basics. Soooo many buttons.
