Do you use a real heavy pick when you're playing?Your guitar has such a robust projection coming off it,it's crazy!!! I really am wanting to get one of these guitars now..I don't know how they could make the Epi w/a solid top & the Gib version w/a laminated top,doesn't make sense
@mooserman100 I assume by "he" you're referring to me... To answer your question, there was never a second strap button on my guitar. It was manufactured before they started putting those on EJ-160E's.
where is your epiphone ej-160e made i was planning of buying one but i learned that they have 3 versions made in korea, indonesia and china.... i don't know where is the best one please reply need help
@J1N256 I've since trimmed my mutton chops, but perhaps I should bring them back and start a tribute band. I also need to work on my New Zealand accent.
@puurlijknbatsie To be honest, I have no idea. I've changed strings a lot in the past few years since this was recorded, but as of now I just have cheap 11-gauge acoustics from Guitar Center, not quite sure of the brand. I don't give too much attention to strings.
@bauersnarky Thanks for the response....only after i put on my bronze wound strings i realized that when i bought this guitar there must have been electric strings on it, because it was not bronze but silver colored....and i dont like my new sound....i keep experimenting then. Grz.
I just bought this used, but when I plug in, I hear a lot of 'buzzing'. Is that normal for this pickup? My other electric/acoustic are crystal clear - but this one isn't.
It's so ironic, Lennon was an "angry" player,but this guitar requires an almost feminine touch. By the way, I have a Korean & chinese model & I cannot tell the difference. You play very well! I plugged in my Ric 360 & played along. Thanks
Lovely sound. I seriously consider buying it. But I've heard that the new ones are made in China and are not very good - quality, sound, everithing is said to be worse than Korean and Indonesian made older ones. So, is this any true?
It's a great sounding guitar. The only issue I have with it, and I hope this makes sense. Is that it sounds.. jangly? Not full enough sounding. Like I said though, great sounding guitar.
That's pretty much the sound I get too (except I have flats, which deadens the sound a bit), it's the Epiphone Ej160e acoustic sound, you got it. But you have a nice sunburst than I do ;)
Great stuff, bud! Your bass vids are what started me listening to your stuff (your vids were actually the deciding factor on me getting the Epiphone Viola Bass) but you are definitely one talented individual. Keep up the awesome work!

since he has the strap on the neck of his guitar does that mean he took the second strap button out and fill the hole or does he just keep it in

@maccalennonstarr Unfortunately the pickup does buzz a bit. It just comes with the P90/P100 territory, whatever that strange little pickup is.
