I was curious - and a vid idea - look for interesting airstrips in places like Irian Jaya or Indonesia. I know there are many great bush pilot strips there but not sure if FSX includes them.

Okay "u" flaps do no good but to add a little extra lift but they also put DRAG on your airplane. i take flying lessons on a c172 g1000 at bob miller flight school if you want to look it up. You dont use flaps unless you NEED to. otherwise they are just pointless. Here i will make it more simple for you. Im talking general aviation now not airliners.

Short runway= about 10 degrees of flaps

Soft runway=20 or ten depending

Regular hard runway= no flaps or maybe ten if there is nose wind.

Oh and by the way Steve could you do a video on a big aircraft like a 737 or even a 747 landing at Courchevel, you may adjust the weather payload and fuel. I would not come in from the hillside approach but you can lower the auto-gen. I will be very pleased if you can do this so I hope you enjoy making this clip so thanks.

Cessna 154 i have a problem with my flight simulator.When i install my flight simulator i activate it and everything and fly for a little while and after ive been on it for 10 minutes my flight simulator just cuts off it doesn't save itself onto my computer so then i have to reinstall flight simulator.PlZ help Cessna 154

This could be the answer, what type of computer do you have? It might be that you don't have much memory so delete some files or your computer just is not powerful to take the game.

SO I guess you can only land on water in a floatplane or something. Whenever I try to do an emergency landing on the surface in a 737, for example, it will always crash and jump back into the air. Is this the way that it is or is there a setting that lets you "emergency land" on water in a jet? Thanks!

i need a new computer...mine will barely run if theres 1 building...i got a sweet laptop for $300 at wal mart...it was a one day thing...some of u might have heard about it...so when i get it set up ima see if fsx will run better

i wouldnt recomend that cause a 300 dollar computer is probably the lowest spec computer u cna run fsx on that but not on the quality that cessna 154 is running it at also laptops are not good for gaming i would recomend building ur own parts are not hard to find and u can run fsx at a pretty good quality with okay specs

Trust me, a $300 laptop will probably run fsx just as your old computer would except it will have better graphics. FSX isn't meant to run on laptops as they do not have a lot of CPU and RAM to give you slight performance. You will need a $1250+ computer to generate at least decent or great performance. I would save that $300 if I were you for a better computer. I've seen this $850 computer at Wal-Mart (they still have it) that has decent looking specs for FSX to run good + graphics.

8justin88: For the best frame rates, I'd stick with FS2004, if I were you, until you could save up & afford a decent desktop computer for FSX. I've got a dual-core laptop & it doesn't run FSX worth a crud. My single-core desktop w/far better graphics card & more memory doesn't run FSX very well, either. You can always give it a try on your new laptop & hopefully it will work, but it sounds doubtful FSX will play very well, if at all. FS2004 should work fine, though. Cheers!

planetrainboat: you may have to reformat & reinstall the OS in order to get it to recognize the new video card properly. I'm only running Win XP Pro, so I'm not as familiar with Vista or Win 7, but usually, if you start swapping out components, the OS gets cranky & doesn't like it. Definitely, if you swap out the mobo, you'll have to reformat & reinstall the OS. Hopefully, you'll get some tips from someone more familiar w/Vista, but if not, I hope this helps. :-)
