  • Oh GOODNESS I can't believe I'm hearing this... How did that tiny woman get that glorious sound? Surely one of the best pianists to ever live!!

  • excellent performance!

  • She starts without imposing herself but quickely is the center of our interest.

There is no better version of this concerto. Different one yes, better no. As a musician she was sure about what to do. And her knowledge about pianotechnique gave her the possibility to realize what she wanted to say. She knew which notes are important and shows them with her arm and bodyweight. And it is never a heavy Brahms but a lively one!!!!!

  • Where is the 3rd movement - I was able to find the 1st (in 2 parts), the 2nd and the 4th. Please provide link in response because it isn't showing up at all.

  • Whenever I saw her sitting at a Steinway grand, I had the impression of seeing a tiny woman driving a 18 wheeler and driving it well. This opening of the Brahms B flat is a powerful and good as any. Wow!

  • Marvellous, dynamic, refreshing, rythmic... piano & orchestra truly in dialog; Brahms revitalized!

  • the best version of this concert together with Horowitz version

  • @nuevopianista ; Arrau plays this concerto the best,... no one can come even close,....

  • @arturon111 oh yah, but i prefer wilhelm backhaus with karajan, thanks for ur opinion.

  • Responder a este vídeo... so i preffer my own version with all mistakes lol

  • Stunning playing and one of the most inspired orchestra accompaniments iI have ever heard inthis piece.

Liberated from the broad klicheeways of performing brahms as if it was Bruckner symohony nr 17

  • This tiny woman was a GIANT of the keyboard...what a magnificent opening! What is this recording taken from? A live radio broadcast? I never saw it anywhere on LP or CD. Who was the conductor, and which orchestra was it? Date? This performance is fabulous...thanks for uploading!!

  • Larrocha never recorded any Brahms, yes, it's a live radio broadcast.

    Andre Previn, conductor

    Pittsburgh Symphonic Orchestra

    1982

  • Nice but the 3rd movement is missing... what happened to it?

  • Amzaing truely one the great voices of the 20th centruy

  • voices???

  • An amazing woman. I saw her live, and WOW is all I can say. She is a great pianist and performer.

  • This is another example that Alicia de Larrocha is much more than just spanish music. Mozart, Beethoven, Scarlatti, Grieg, Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Ravel, Brahms, Shumann, Shubert, etc, etc, etc. I had the chance to be in many of her live concerts and, believe me, she has been one of the best pianist of our time. Good bless you, Alicia!!!!!!!!

  • Brahms "tiny tiny concerto" as he jokingly called it, performed by a tiny tiny lady..with a huge technique!

  • those tiny hands really conquer this piece! I am stunned! i hope this comes out on CD sometime soon!

  • Where can I get a copy of this recording? Wow...

  • she is good sounds like man powerful playing

  • Listen to de Larrocha Ravel Left Hand concerto..OMG!!
