  • Imagine being taught to play by Robert Johnson.....doesn't get any better. Sounds exactly like him as well.

  • I knew Mr. Robert thru my friend and Mentor Charles "D.C." Carnes played with him in Cleveland for 15 yrs. In early yrs he went as Robert Jr. Lockwood. He played with & was mistaken alot for his Step-Father Robert Johnson, (Father of the Blues) who lived with his Mother for 10 years. He said once, that the Jr. after the Robert was out of respect to Robert Johnson. In later years he was reffered to as The Living Legend Robert Lockwood Jr. We all called him Mr. Robert to keep the confusion at bay.

  • Robert Lockwood junior actually is right, his father was called Robert Lockwood as well.

Robert jr lockwood was a nickname used as a reference to robert seeing him as a robert johnson junior.

he once admitted to the media he hated that nickname but he could live with it ;)

    love and peace.

    requeiscat in pace

  • I saw his guitar on a luthier's website with the peghead broken in half, It didnt say what happened to it though.

  • I've been watching him here in Helena, AR at the King Biscuit Blues since it started in the '80s. Sunshine Sonny Payne (who has known him for over 60 years) has always called him Robert Jr Lockwood. He has been a great blusman for many, many years. He will be sorely missed.

  • He's Robert Junior. His last name is Lockwood.

  • His name is Robert Junior Lockwood, and not Robert Lockwood Junior. Great song!

  • The Picture beginning at 1:32 begs the differ
