@HDTutorialsForYou That depends on your graphics settings. Mine is using Razor something config and is set at 720p. I get around 28 fps if I can remember. You should get almost the same fps as mine. FYi, my 9800 GT died. I'm using 460 GTX right now.
good price but cheap. I heard the majority of people recommend a quality psu that costs around $40, but to me, I bought a 500 W for free after rebate, and I don't have any problems with it.
I wouldn't bother upgrading your dell because it's better to build a custom pc for future use. ( if your into video editing and shit lol)
@unrealriot Planning on getting this card. While not really expecting to play Crysis, would a get respectable performance in games like Modern Warfare 2, New Vegas, Stalker, and Half-Life 2? I have core 2 duo processor at 2ghz, and 2 gigs of ram. Basically I am planning on throwing this card into a Dell Dimension E520. If you find the time to answer this that would be awesome. Just wondering if putting out for the card wuold be worth it. Can't stand integrated graphics.
@SlapHappyJesus The card is a bit dated, and also you're power supply isn't enough to perform 9800 GT well. I would suggest get about 500 W of PSU. It doesn't cost that much. and also, you should think about getting either 250 GT or 450 GTX.
@unrealriot Thanks for the advice. I will look into it. Trying to wrap my head around this pc stuff and just trying to be pointed in the right direction. Are the cards that you recommended better cards that will require the extra psu, or are they lesser but more in the range of what my pc is capable of handling?
@unrealriot Thanks for the help. I am eventually thinking about building a custom pc, but for now a cheap upgrade is the way to go. Last question. I found a handful of power supplies on newegg averaging around 450 -500 watts. They cost around $20, taxes not included. Is this a good price, or do they seem to cheap?
@SlapHappyJesus Sorry for the late reply. People say that $20 for 500W has bad quality, but mine is like free after mail in rebate, and my psu works very good. However, just make sure buy the quality ones like Antec, ULTRA, coolmaster, etc.
@unrealriot Not a problem. Appreciate the help. Found a job not too long ago, so things are only really happening about now anyway. I will be sure to look out for the brans you suggested. Thanks again man.
@LostWorldHalfLife2 well, if I were you, I would upgrade to either 460 series or 560 series. It'll perform much better than 250 SLI. the GT 250 is getting old.
@deividas56 It was custom made my my dads friend.. Some of the hardware isn't even out yet but im satisfied with is though :). just need that 9800 Gts or whatever and ill run this

i have a ?? will the V8 work with the e5300 intel dual core i was wondering and is the 9800gt xfx graphics card good for gaming like this game will it run this game Metro 2033 thank you just PM me or reply back to me thanks :) will this run crysis to on like high or ultra high
@luian90 it will perform very good man! :D but it will be a little choppy if you turn the resolution above 1280x1024! :D otherways it will be good! :D
On CS it depends. Right now my CS Source runs at 100 - 120 FPS when 32 players in, but if I put Intel Xeon Quad-Core my FPS increases 2 - 3x the actual.
@unrealriot settings are at high and resolution is at 1980 x 1080, idk if its too much i mean i can run metro 2033 on the highest settings outside the station at 30 fps but well idk maybe its something else?
@manmaster94 Your resolution is the problem that causes lag, but that is how it is. My resolution is set in 720p. If you want to get more than 25 fps, you should consider getting a 5800 series.
Remember, the more resolution you set, the less fps you'll get.
@DarkShark190 if i put one of the shader settings on high instead of very high and the rest on very high it raises the fps by 10!, i was like wtf! lol, ill keep it like that, i get like 40 fps or 34 average with everything high exept one of the shaders
@DarkShark190 i changed one of the shader settings to high and the rest on very high and it raised the fps by 10! now the average i get is about 30-40, but my motherboard is a 770-g45, and i have a phenom ii x2 550 @ 3.1 and i have an ati 5770 graphics card
@Raond11 yeah i think your cpu bottlenecks the performance, but are you using custom config? If not, then that might be your problem? Have you updated nvidia drivers yet?
i don't exactly know how to explain this, but basically it optimizes fragmented files on a hard drive. Google "defragmentation" and you'll see alot of them.
If you still haven't bought a card, go to newegg and look for an 8800GT from BFG Tech. It's essentially the same card with slightly less features, but identical performance. It's only 45 bucks ;]
i just got a 9600 gt 1gb and i plays this alright but im not happy and i want to sell it and upgrade to a 9800gt will their be any difference at all? if not what should i do? i get like 30 fps on Dx9 and everything on high or gamer(playing warhead) im a console gamer as well and i want to match fluent gaming and good graphics.
it's not worth to upgrade from 9600 GT to 9800 GT because going for that would increase a very few fps on crysis. 9600 GT is not a bad card for running crysis. You can overclock your graphics card, plus I use a custom config tweak to make warhead graphics look nicer and much better performance than Very High settings.
That is not true. The ATI 5770 only costs around $160, and if you crossfire it, it'll run crysis really smooth and can match up against 5870. The 5 series is now the king and can beat GTX 200 series. If you don't trust me, look at one of the benchmarks.
I prefer Nivdia. I have never been a big fan of Radion. Radion cards have twice as many Processing cores as Nividia Cards. but Radion uses half the energy to power it.
so you get the same preformance.
Nividia Just goes about it in a diferent Way. they pump twice as much power through a Card. and have half the Processing cores. giving you more insured performance through Raw Power. Because some games Dont make use of all of Radions Cores.
GTX 295 gets Better performance on Crysis Warhead and Crysis on every resolution and with 4x aa. then the 5870. I have looked at the benchmarks. and the cards get almost the exact same performance on every single game. Like I said. Some games wont make use of all Radions Proccesing cores. thats why you want the raw power from Nividia Cards.
also the GTX 295 is a dual GPU in one.
and that Radion card uses more power then an affordable GTX 260 which handles crysis Perfectly.
Check the power consumption carefully. Where did you hear about radeon card uses more power? The 5800 series can knock out GTX 295 on performance and power consumption. You missed the point that there are problems with ATI drivers, but it'll be fixed soon with better performance on gaming. you do know that the 5800 series can run on max almost flawlessly in 2560x1600 than the 295 GTX.
I don't really care whether nvidia or ati is good, I care about graphic cards that have performance, and energy friendly with best bang of a buck. Do you know ATI 5870 costs a bit less than 295 GTX, but also have better performance?
The 9800 GT is about the same as a GTX 260m in a Laptop.
My laptop handles Crysis with Very High graphics at about 25-35 fps.
GTX 260m gets pretty consistent frame rates on Crysis.
I haven't tried Crysis War Head on this thing yet. I know I will have a huge performance boost on War Head.Much more efficient game.
but if you are going to have a 9800 GT in your desk top. you might as well get a laptop with a GTX 260m. pretty much the same performance. depending on your processor.
get 6 ram or more and make sure ur pc has a psu(power supply) of 650w or more, incase u need to upgrade to something more powerful like ati cards which usually use like 400w. Dont do whjat i did and get a crappy 350 w.
Why 6 GB RAM, it doesn't make any difference. Its all about just graphics card.
His graphics card are ok, but is he going to run everything at max on 1680x1050. I really doubt he will run it at 26 fps, even though its no aa or af.
WaterCow12, if you want to run well, you better off getting a 5850 or 5770 or GT250 or GT260 or more.
Okay im a noob but i ant a new graphics card im on a GT 220 my PC's nothing special its not a gaming pc and im playing crysis but i want it to be good graphics i have 4gb ram 2.3 ghz, Q3000 quad Processor will i be able to use this card on my machine?
the card you have is ok, not too great. If you want good graphics, then you need lower the resolution. Otherwise you better off getting a GT 250 for higher resolution and better graphics instead. About your cpu, I never heard of Q3000 quad core before. Do you mean Q9300?

djthunda12123 2 years ago
And the Graphics card, the GTS 240 is like a 9800 just slightly faster and OC'd like you said.
gomez1323 2 years ago
@unrealriot what do you mean " overclocked " ? i want to buy one and i have to know details... :D please reply
radujustme 2 years ago
overclocked means to make compare hardware tio go for higher clock speed.
For example my cpu is default in 2.66 GHz, and i overclocked it to 3 GHz.

what settings you running this on??
21972069450471 2 years ago
Those settings are all in custom, I'm using a tweak config to make crysis look nicer and better performance.

i just got a 9600 gt 1gb and i plays this alright but im not happy and i want to sell it and upgrade to a 9800gt will their be any difference at all? if not what should i do? i get like 30 fps on Dx9 and everything on high or gamer(playing warhead) im a console gamer as well and i want to match fluent gaming and good graphics.
intel duel core 2.4 Ghz
4gb ram
nvidia ge force 9600gt
vista 32bit
500 watt PSU
gearhead9122 2 years ago
it's not worth to upgrade from 9600 GT to 9800 GT because going for that would increase a very few fps on crysis. 9600 GT is not a bad card for running crysis. You can overclock your graphics card, plus I use a custom config tweak to make warhead graphics look nicer and much better performance than Very High settings.
unrealriot 2 years ago
is their a way to improve my fps while using Dx10 and i have overclocked my gpu a lil bit
gearhead9122 2 years ago
@unrealriot and where do you have the config from ? :D
radujustme 2 years ago
what overclock is on this card
i bet you have a new one but tell me!
yellowflash345 2 years ago
Its on a default clock, but its OC default
GPU core clock: 625 MHz
Memory clock:900 Mhz
Shader clock: Default.
unrealriot 2 years ago
then maybe my 700 MHz gpu was is to high
yellowflash345 2 years ago
how will this run with 2 9800gt's?
feind232 2 years ago
uhh if you have an SLI motherboard?
unrealriot 2 years ago
yea of course
feind232 2 years ago
What you want for a Desk top since you half to handle a larger Resolution is a 9800 GTX. if you are going to get a card from the 9000 line.
but I really enjoy the performance I get from my laptop.
Perfect Laptop to handle Crysis.
Asus G 60 Notebook.
Nomad2243 2 years ago
My upgrade would be either 5770 or 5850 (If $200)
unrealriot 2 years ago
I would recomend getting a GTX 275 or GTX 260 from Nividia. they are much cheaper. Those radion Cards are $300 dollars.
GTX 260 in a desktop gets amazing preformance on Crysis. were talking no lag at all with max settings.
Nomad2243 2 years ago
That is not true. The ATI 5770 only costs around $160, and if you crossfire it, it'll run crysis really smooth and can match up against 5870. The 5 series is now the king and can beat GTX 200 series. If you don't trust me, look at one of the benchmarks.
unrealriot 2 years ago
Don't forget about video card power consumption. The ATI 5000 series conserves more energy and more performance than nvidia.
unrealriot 2 years ago

Nomad2243 2 years ago
Check the power consumption carefully. Where did you hear about radeon card uses more power? The 5800 series can knock out GTX 295 on performance and power consumption. You missed the point that there are problems with ATI drivers, but it'll be fixed soon with better performance on gaming. you do know that the 5800 series can run on max almost flawlessly in 2560x1600 than the 295 GTX.
unrealriot 2 years ago
I don't really care whether nvidia or ati is good, I care about graphic cards that have performance, and energy friendly with best bang of a buck. Do you know ATI 5870 costs a bit less than 295 GTX, but also have better performance?
unrealriot 2 years ago
5770 is 150 euros and 5850 is 270. the 5850 is faster but if you want to play at low resolutions, the 5770 is the best deal :)
unox234 2 years ago
The 9800 GT is about the same as a GTX 260m in a Laptop.
My laptop handles Crysis with Very High graphics at about 25-35 fps.
GTX 260m gets pretty consistent frame rates on Crysis.
I haven't tried Crysis War Head on this thing yet. I know I will have a huge performance boost on War Head.Much more efficient game.
but if you are going to have a 9800 GT in your desk top. you might as well get a laptop with a GTX 260m. pretty much the same performance. depending on your processor.

I'm getting a new gaming computer:
-Intel Quad Core 2.66Ghz @1333
-4 gigs of RAM
-Nvidia GeForce GF9800GT 1GB Video Card
I want to play at 1680x1050
Is that good for crysis?
WaterCow12 2 years ago
ummm kinda of.
unrealriot 2 years ago
get 6 ram or more and make sure ur pc has a psu(power supply) of 650w or more, incase u need to upgrade to something more powerful like ati cards which usually use like 400w. Dont do whjat i did and get a crappy 350 w.
helldrag0n47 2 years ago
Why 6 GB RAM, it doesn't make any difference. Its all about just graphics card.
His graphics card are ok, but is he going to run everything at max on 1680x1050. I really doubt he will run it at 26 fps, even though its no aa or af.
WaterCow12, if you want to run well, you better off getting a 5850 or 5770 or GT250 or GT260 or more.
unrealriot 2 years ago
dammit wtf happened to the rest of my comment? anyways, i was gunna say he should get a new card.
helldrag0n47 2 years ago
Ahh. I see. thanks you know your stuff. But in a couple years I'm getting dual graphic cards Direct X 11 compatible from Nvidia.
WaterCow12 2 years ago
I don't think you could at 1680x1050, but probably at a lower resolution

Okay im a noob but i ant a new graphics card im on a GT 220 my PC's nothing special its not a gaming pc and im playing crysis but i want it to be good graphics i have 4gb ram 2.3 ghz, Q3000 quad Processor will i be able to use this card on my machine?
helloboratm8 2 years ago
the card you have is ok, not too great. If you want good graphics, then you need lower the resolution. Otherwise you better off getting a GT 250 for higher resolution and better graphics instead. About your cpu, I never heard of Q3000 quad core before. Do you mean Q9300?
unrealriot 2 years ago
Sorry Dude i meant Q3800 LOL yeah so il Check out the 250GT hoiw much do you reckon i could get that for?
helloboratm8 2 years ago
probably around $120 bucks

I'm deciding between this card or an HD 4670... which one would be better?
radriku 2 years ago
The 9800 GT would be a better one.
unrealriot 2 years ago
Yeah, I read some articles... everyone's praising the 9800 GT. What kind of PSU would be best for this card? How many watts?
radriku 2 years ago
500 Watts psu will be enough to handle 9800 GT.
