I was at the Opry last night. She was there. She sang this. It was UNBELIEVABLE. It was a night I will NEVER forget. EVERYBODY got on their feet as soon as she walked out on stage. She is such a legend.

She is still in top form after all these years...! My grandmother won a radio contest and received free tickets to a concert featuring Loretta, Conway Twitty, and Moe Bandy. My brother and I held out for as long as we could, but eventually had to go to the bathroom, and on our way back we saw that they had called our grandmother up on stage to meet all three singers. We tried to join her up on stage, but without her right by us to claim us as her grandkids, we couldn't get past security. :-(
Loretta and Patsy Cline are the two legendary country music ladies that will always be remembered as "TRUE COUNTRY"......I love them both.....and Loretta reminds me of my country (hillbilly) roots growing up without any of the modern conveniences and my daddy was a coal miner and farmer who raised 12 kids.
Loretta will always be right up there with Patsy Cline....two of the "True" country music lady singers....their music is legendary...love all of it!!!!!!!!!!

My mother (83) grew up in an Appalachian coal mining town with 7 brothers and sisters. I told her and my aunt to go see Coal Miners Daughter. They said it was exactly like that. No electricity, no indoor plumbing. They got shoes and maybe an orange for Xmas. They only had 2 bedrooms, and at times rented the parlor for extra money. Funny, the road they grew up on just got paved & a name! God bless Loretta for showing what real hard life was like...and surviving!

she has gotten older through the years just like anybody, and i have seen her in concert once, it was recent so she was older and couldnt remember and sing as much, but she is still so lovely in concert and her daughters are great as well. very lovely.

Loretta you are such an inspiration to so many people.You remind me of the way i was raised, us kids didn't have much but we appreciated what we had. Our daddy made sure our tummys were fed every day and we were warm at night.Unlike some kids today we were so happy to get just a little something.Your daddy raised a girl who showed a country what can come from a family with true values, love and dedication.More of what we need today. this song always brings tears to my eyes when I listen to the lyrics...My daddy didn't work in the coal mines but he worked in the steel mills of Western PA. And I think of him when I hear this song...Loretta Lynn surely made me proud to be a "Steel Worker's Daughter." Thank you Miss Loretta Lynn. You are one of the best singer/songwriters to ever live

Why is this video so great and heavily watched? GREAT camera work, awesome musicians, Loretta relaxed and happy, and perfect gestures - the smiles, the hand out in front ("to wear" - hand), and the sweet nostalgiac upward hand chop and wistful look on "Aaaah and it's so good" - just the best live performance in years.

she has gotten older through the years just like anybody, and i have seen her in concert once, it was recent so she was older and couldnt remember and sing as much, but she is still so lovely in concert and her daughters are great as well. very lovely.

I think she was great but the tempo was off and the band was rushing her thru the song as if they wanted her performance over. Whats up with that anyway. I hate when bands try to lead me as i sing. You would think she would give the tempo slow sign and tell them something and i think she did but they didn't adjust. that sucks.. I love you Loretta.
I just think the band was terrible in doing that you can hear it from the get go..
