The Search for a Star contest wasen't what fans thought it would be. the Gorillaz were looking for a type of style in the animations. and getting a room in the Kong studios was a lie.

this is great! i love that sort of flipbook style of animation. who knew that something as simple as murdoc waking up in the morning could look so cool and well animated.

Well, I think they were let down in a way. At the start of S4AS it was said the winner (in the beginning they would chose only one winner) would work with Gorillaz end get his/her own room at Kong. But the rooms for the winners never came. And what working with Gorillaz is concerned; they did their art work for El Manana/ Kids with guns, and I think they did a good job, but that was it and it wasn't exactely what was promised in the first place. That's what I think, anyway.

ik vind dat frame voor frame tekenen altijd mooi om te zien ^^ heb jij toevallig ook de animatie met murdoc die (dacht ik) vlucht voor de politie gemaakt? die is ook zo goed!

ja, die is ook van mij, dank je! Zelf ben ik er niet zo heel tevreden meer over. Voor die animatie heb ik een tablet gebruikt wat ik een stuk lastiger werken vind.

A oke, ik ga denk ik ook een tablet aanschaffen het lijkt me wel handig. Heb je die animatie vanwege die reden dan ook van youtube gehaald? want ik kan hem niet meer vinden.

Sterker nog, ik heb hem er nooit op gezet. :)

Maar misschien dat ik dat toch binnenkort maar eens doe.

En een tablet kan reuze handig zijn. Zelf vind ik het makkelijker en nauwkeuriger werken met potlood en papier, maar direct op de computer werken scheelt een hoop scan-werk en ander gedoe.

Thanks! I drew it the old fashioned way, using pencil and paper, but I used Mirage Studio for the finishing touch.
