Someone in my music class played this song from their ipod for all of us to listen to. At first all I could really hear of the lyrics was "breathe again, breathe again.." we didn't listen to the whole song but afterwards the guy who played the song actually told us what the song was about. listening to the kind of "christmasy" background jingles i never thought this song was about something so dark lol. it gave me the shivers. so here i am listening to it :D
Hmmm-I love this band and the music of this song but the story seems a bit childish-killing someone cause of stolen toys ? This may be standard in US - strange part of the first world...
@FrancescoGuardi Childish story? This coming from a guy that favorited a vid of a guy making a copy of his ass? And what do you mean "standard in US?" I suppose in Germany no authors write books about murder, revenge, or no one makes movies about senseless killing. Dude, it's just a well written story about murder, vengance and how he justifies himself. I guess it's childish because it's not about homosexuality, socialism, or other stuff that's standard in Europe, strange part of the world.
@malikamakamuki This ass-copy-vid marked my son as fav. But what about homosex.,socialism and more as special issues of Europe? ChristopherStreetDay happend in US and US is an ill giant because it has not enough social sense(that's something other than socialism, sleepy). They aren't even able to install a health insurance. And well:I don't know any german film/book about murder because of stolen christmas gifts. It's simply ridiciolous.
EU is the main root of US culture, even democracy came fromUK
@FrancescoGuardi Look, I'm not looking for a fight. You're the one that started with that "standard in the US" & "strange part of the first world" crap. I can admit the US has problems, but so does every other country. Trouble is some people talk as if they're high & mighty and then have the nerve to call Americans cockey. If you came up to me with a strange accent, I'd help you. If I came up to you, I believe youl'd help me too. So why argue about stupid things governments do?
I heard this song one time and thought it was really awesome. Then I actually LISTENED to it and attentively to the lyrics. I was surprised as to how soothing the tone of the song takes place in, yet the lyrics are awesomely violent.
Like I commented on the other page that has this song; The background vocals are so well done it's unbelievably amazing. Starting at :56 it builds up, then at 1:03 it gives such an haunting & eerie feel. These guys are musical geniuses. Listen to the rest of their songs & see for yourself.
Strange juxtaposition of beautiful soothing music and a very... morally disconcerting story. Well done. It's music you digest, and impossible to listen and dismiss as at just a nice sound with no fibre. Very interesting... I like it, but I don't.
im in love with this song its just so mmm i dont really know how to point into words i guess a twisted kinda right /wrong feel so good idono really hard to put into words and being able to gives those gifts to your kids
blah im really at a loss for words atm i tihnk im gona have to lestin to it a few more times and then right to make a real comment
but other than that really great vocals it just seems to flow together seamless its just a reallygreat song
Something like that. My friends were hanging out with them after a show in Tallahassee and they told me the guys in the band said a man in California told them a story and they turned it into this song
didn't they post a blog on their page about this song? i think they mentioned what inspired it, and i can't for the life of me remember what it was. any ideas?
A great song in a twisted kind of way. A perfect scenario of an act being so wrong feeling so right. Whether you condone or not, a great tale with great music and vocals.
Every song by this band is just incredible
