There are masculine boys and feminine boys, and just because certain toys are associated with specific genders, doesn't make them benchmarks for one's gender identity. I wore dresses as a kid. Then she goes to great lengths to hide her true identity. It's basically a movie about finding out who she really is. I don't know why everyone's so focused on labelling her.
I was watching this on mute to see if it was the right trailer I've seen before and Life For Rent by Dido was playing on the radio and I thought it kind of fitted with the trailer. Haha

I used to be asked by many people if i wuz a boy or a girl. I've had my hair to my shoulders, but i still looked like a boy becuz of the way i dressed and looked. My boobs didn't start to develop til i wuz 16, and i'm 18 now. I started dressing more like a girl last summer becuz i got tired of people looking at me weird when i'm in the washroom or in public. I still dress like a tomboy somtimes becuz i wear baggy pants and some dark colors, but my shirts are tighter to show that i'm a girl.
Sounds like a brilliant movie. To the flamewar in the comment section - I think the child could grow up to be a trans man, or could grow up to be a cis woman, maybe a masculine or butch or gay woman, I think ze's too young and the movie trailer didn't show enough to know whether it was an early indicator of the kid's real gender, or if the kid was just having fun for one summer. Ze may be a budding trans guy, or ze may just be playing around while ze's young.

Everybody has a different situation and so we can never really make assumptions about any single case. I really don't care for that phrase, whenever people use it, what they really mean to say is that so-and-so's gender presentation confuses them. It seems like Mikael has got if figured out, it's other people who get confused.
Until puberty (and then maybe not for some) a boy's and a girl's chest is the same fricken thing. "She" doesn't show "her boobs". There are no boobs. If you wanna find some, there are many grown males have the same thing we would call boobs on a woman protruding from their chests and they don't cover those up, all for your pleasure. This movie looks beautiful. The main character is beautiful, the actress is beautiful, the fact that it is a trans-friendly movie is beautiful. You guys can hate all you want, but that doesn't change the meaning of the movie or the plot of the movie, okay? I used to be asked by many people if i wuz a boy or a girl. I've had my hair to my shoulders, but i still looked like a boy becuz of the way i dressed and looked. My boobs didn't start to develop til i wuz 16, and i'm 18 now. I started dressing more like a girl last summer becuz i got tired of people looking at me weird when i'm in the washroom or in public. I still dress like a tomboy somtimes becuz i wear baggy pants and some dark colors, but my shirts are tighter to show that i'm a girl.

Sounds like a brilliant movie. To the flamewar in the comment section - I think the child could grow up to be a trans man, or could grow up to be a cis woman, maybe a masculine or butch or gay woman, I think ze's too young and the movie trailer didn't show enough to know whether it was an early indicator of the kid's real gender, or if the kid was just having fun for one summer. Ze may be a budding trans guy, or ze may just be playing around while ze's young.

I even did use things to pretend like I had a penis just because I thought girls sucked and guys had it better. I'm a straight woman now, I outgrew that phase of my life. Everybody has a different situation and so we can never really make assumptions about any single case. The environment vs. genetics and extraneous factors that make up personality and being are just too random for anyone to really fit into a certain group.

Until puberty (and then maybe not for some) a boy's and a girl's chest is the same fricken thing. "She" doesn't show "her boobs". There are no boobs. If you wanna find some, there are many grown males have the same thing we would call boobs on a woman protruding from their chests and they don't cover those up, all for your pleasure.
