can you explain the diff. b/w chicago stepping and detroit ball room? It seems that chicago stays in the "box" a little more while detroit does more "all over the place moves?"

Chicago Steppin' is a slotted slow swing dance. The path of dance would be like dancing in a box. Detroit Style Ballroom is a veariation of Cha Cha a latin dance. Its movement are more circular no linear path has to be maintained to excute. Great observation Dcain2.
