Funny, Grace is describing was has been called second generation war. That is what we had in Europe when chivalry came to the point that set battles were fought away from towns and cities. Napoleonic Wars were the last of them. American Civil War as the First "Modern" War where every place is hit if it can. You raise a good point. Today's society is almost completely run by people that were influenced by the '60s counterculture, and it's pretty obvious that it's failing. However, it was the excess of drugs and sex that ruined it all from the start; utopian ideals came first, and then excess wiped it all away.
