  • 0:00 - 5:25 I blacked out as soon as the song finished I was back in reality . take me with you bucket!!

  • I think this is how David Gilmour would sound if he was a shredder.

  • buckethead's music is the only music I will ever need

  • Wow, i am left speachless iv heard every live/studio version of animal behavior on Youtube, and i just found this particulare version today and think its gotta be the best one yet. Great recording, great everything! wow i am blown away ! Long live the god!

  • holy shit, i just figured this was played live! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!! Definitely in my personal top 3 of buckethead's best live performance, this solo is just insane! I bet the crowd just melted after that

  • This is fucking amazing.

  • That bend at 3:23 is godlike...

  • nuta zajebista! a nie jakieś chujowe Justinki

  • pure virtuoso, no one's played guitar like this since hendrix

  • @skatefallen15 I would put a vote in for John Frusciante, but other than that I agree with you.

  • @Undertow15

    oh yeah Frusciante's amazing too

  • yeh, peppers just aren't the same without him.

  • @99Irishman99 yea i could see Frusciante and Buckethead putting out some nice jams

  • A question, what is the difference between Interworld and the New Innocence and Animal Behavior? XD

  • This is the most aesthetically pleasing song ever. i feel as if it tells a story to buckethead fans and enthusiastic guitarists reminding them to live for the moment and be who you are

  • 2 people should go to hell for beeing retarded and for pushing the wrong button...

This song is a masterpiece and doesnt deserve any negative comment!! Great BH!!

  • Damn, just beautiful, anyone knows where can I get tabs?

  • @MrFluffay dude, the reality shocks, the song is a Jam, THIS MOTHERFUCKER IMPROVISED THIS ON STAGE!!!! Check the entire album, Zurich by Praxis

the improvisation means only one thing... this song came from the deeps of Buckethead Heart

  • wooooow this song is the best how havent i heard it before

  • Thanks fo u/l this.... After listening to this version I scrolled ebay and bought Praxis Transmutation live Zurich album on the go.

Man Buckethead know how to chill your spine... never any musician have done that to me... he's guitargod...

We're lucky to live in the same timeline....

  • search animal behavior buckethead and youll find this song all over youtube

  • @BelieveIntheBucket But not this great version.

  • yeah, almost brings a tear to my eye (this music) no words yet i can reflect more on this that anything else. buckethead just spearheads right into the soul

  • lets put things straight .. this CD is called " transmutation live " recorded in Zurich june 21st 1996 , this track is the last section of the last track on the CD and is called MOVEMENT 4 .. this portion lasts ( as you can see ) 5.26 . the WHOLE track lasts 15.05 . and starts as it finishes with that sorta whoooshing techno sound ( as duz the other 3 tracks on the CD ) ..hope this clears it up .

ps . wang the HI-FI up as far as yer ears will allow ... and be prepared for yor brain too melt

  • @shaunthesheep1960 Zurich is a reissue of that cd - on that cd the song above is track 16 and is called "Transmutation 5 (Ascent)"

  • 3:20 Most soulful bend ever. He does amazing things with mixing bends and shredding. Check out Praxis Tennessee 2004. Better yet, buy the CD.

  • Aside from what he can do, all of the Crazy Train Solos sound exactly the same speed and style of How Randy Rhoads played them.

  • 3:42 - 4:20

idk what it is but everytime that certain part of the song starts... i feel like nothing... which is surprisingly a good thing...

  • can anybody tell me on which album i will find this?

  • @obstipatiomentalis zurich = album

    band = Praxis

    Praxis = ...

... = no words can describe them (seriously)

    :D

  • @obstipatiomentalis The album title is "Transmutation (Mutatis Mutandis)"

  • @WaxOutissh This is not from Transmutation (Mutatis Mutandis) Studio CD...

  • I cant stop listening to this. 2 weeks 20 times a day. Somebody call a doctor. Please help me!!!!

  • Gentle yet barbaric, if you know what i mean.

  • where are the fuckin tabs for this

  • actually this is the last 5 1/2 mins of " movement 4 " from the Transmutation Live cd by Praxis c/w scratch pickles .. the whole track lasts 15.05 mins . awesome !!!!

  • @shaunthesheep1960 The CD was rereleased as "Zurich" with the tracks more split up - on that cd it is really called transmutation 5

  • God, another video where Buckethead shows nothing but speed.

When does this guy learn to play with emotion?

    Long live the Bucket!

  • @Zp33rz Padmasana my favourite

  • @Zp33rz You might like Colma. I believe he dedicated it to his mother was ill with cancer. Very beautiful music. If you like that, Padmasana and Electric Tears are also great (from the album Electric Tears).

  • @tweezak I was being sarcastic :D Buck is the only person I listen to on the regular and it is one of the few who can play with speed and emotion.

  • @Zp33rz sarcism on the first part I hope? ^.^

  • so this was realised tehcnically as the artist praxis, not buckethead?

  • @Hardtack444 Praxis is a band

  • masterpiece.,,.

  • wonder how long this took to write. Knowing Buckethead, he probably made it up on the spot XD

  • when the shadows of the interworld get too much for me, this is always a good way to regain my composure as what I think I am

  • I think that Buckethead does not exist in the real world, i believe that lives within us.

    From Italy. Buckethead forever.

  • buckethead seemed to have the such a nice tone during his praxis days, too bad he gave away his jordan guitar

  • @sublime88sublime Yea he gave it to a Hard Rock Cafe... But it broke actually before he gave it away :P There's a Video on the Binge Tapes.. You can find it somewhere here on youtube

  • whoa ...epic

  • As BB King said: "shows alotta emotion young mane"+10

  • all he does is follow patterns follow patterns. That's what every guitarist does. It's just like doing math. learn the rules of the scales and music theory, then just shred the patterns over and over.

It's very hard not to fall into patterns, but just another person following them is not inspiring in any way.

  • @Jackrabbitschnip So...you're saying instead of playing in patterns and staying within a few scales...that he should just randomly play notes? Maybe playing random notes is how you see guitar playing but...its not. What else is a guitarist gonna do it have his shredding sound good? I mean really, you act like people think Buckethead is so good because he knows how to play in a scale. No? Let me make a new comment to explain what makes Buckethead amazing, brb.

  • The fact that he has such a huge vast variety of different genres that he plays oh so well. 8 finger nub arpeggios (thats when he uses 8 fingers and goes up and down the neck and what not...yeh im sure youve seen him do that, if not...well...go check it). As i hope you know, thats incredibly hard to do. His sheer precision and speed. The amount of albums and songs n shit that he releases, too much to count. I mean im STILL finding new songs by him. He releases like frikken 4 albums a year. O_O

  • @kinobiheart I agree with you, and would like to add, that even though bucket releases like 4 albums a year, its not the amount of albums he releases, it´s the fact that with all those albums on every single note on every album, he adds all the emotion onto it, they don´t feel like rushed albums, that´s what makes Bucket amazing, and shows his creativity and skill, being able to release 4 masterpieces per year.

  • Ran out of room again, allow me to continue: The album population override by him is a perfect definition of how much soul he puts in his music. I mean do you honestly expect us to take the word of someone like you as opposed to all the successful musicians who say hes incredible? I guess you know best, huh? Your inexperienced ass knows better than those who've been playing for probably over 30 years. You prob dont even play an instrument. You wouldnt know brilliance if it bit you in the nose.

  • @Jackrabbitschnip as kinobiheart said, check out Population Override. It is not just the soul Buckethead puts into it, but if you notice in some songs like Too Many Humans, it has no patterns. No single riff, no single solo, no single pentatonic scale (which is what you refer to as "patterns" ignorant asshole). He just plays, like Jazz, where you just go with the flow. So know your facts before you start talking...

  • @chesspiece11 If you think pentatonic is the only pattern to follow in music, you have a long way to go.

  • @gotinker22 i didnt say that or mean to say that, i meant to say that Jackrabbitschnip thinks that pentatonic scales are the patterns you follow to shred... and if you read my message i said in too many humans there is no "single" pentatonic scale, meaning there is many. Also Too Many Humans is under the jazz genre where you don't really repeat much. In that song he doesnt repeat anything or so i thought. Everything seems to be improvised on the spot.

  • @chesspiece11 That's funny,

I just listened to the song you mentioned, too many humans, it's only pentatonic, and standard minor patterns you dumb fucker.

  • @gotinker22

Can we all just except that too many humans is an amazing song, and get over the scales, buckethead uses natural minor alot, who cares, its an incredibly soulfull song.

  • @Jackrabbitschnip

There isn't really any other way to shred, and anyway, its the WAY that he follows the patterns/ going through one then going higher changing direction, sliding up really high bending etc.....

  • Oh, no! Two people dislike this? They must be Slash fanboys. ;)

  • whoever said anyone is more talented then buckethead, i would have to see proof.....im not a crazy buckethead fan, but the man is a fucking musical genius...end of story

  • Just think about how much chickens had to die to fill this "hat" with meat... And every single chicken-mind gives Buckethead his Inspiration!

Please fu*k this whole humankind up^^

    Greets from Germany

  • music to my ears, that was the best. love me some old school praxis

  • buckethead fkn rules. he can play anything, any style...find another guitarist that can do that.

  • Guthrie Govan can, if you're into guitarists you should really check him out, im not gonna be judge of who is better, but guthrie plays any genre, and makes some very very good music, its worth a listen, theres quite a bitwith him here on youtube

  • @CodyA210 it's not related to what you just stated but you should check out dave knudson's guitar work, especially on minus the bear. pretty creative with the pedals, just to expand your musical palette i suppose.

  • 'cause he's the best

  • this is not animal behaviour outro (studio version)

but his live performances of animal behaviour are based on this song.

    beautiful

  • Sometimes I feel that Buckethead is the only one who understands me and I understand him.

  • that's exactly that what i thinking :o

  • ( to: FatToti )

  • Ever heard of Melting Euphoria? They are a holistic psychedelic prog rock band that is now defunct but has four studio cd's. They are similar to Ozric Tentacles and Gong and Hawkwind.

  • lol

  • @FatToti lol we think alike.....I posted that same comment a couple weeks ago on another Buckethead video

  • @FatToti Dude.... I couldn't have said it better myself. Amen. Buckethead is just downright therapeutic to me. Who do you want Buckethead to be? Because that's exactly who Buckethead is. Any given moment, any given day. That's the beauty of Buckethead. He's A Genuis.

  • @FatToti

Just love your comment... I totally agree with you bro!

  • @FatToti so true man, so true!

  • nice one

  • oh shit!! i meant to click thums up on jimknees comment =( im so sorry

  • im gonna go make a roast beef sandwich

  • Eddie Hazel: Maggot Brain - Funkadelic

  • Comment removed

  • why would you headbang to this song? and stop trollin

  • Oh well, take it easy - most fans feel like their idol is the only person in the world who can truly sing, or play a certain instrument, or convey a certain emotion ;)

  • Dude....I've been playing for 34 years and make my living as a live/studio engineer/producer...I can shred, and know ALOT of ppl(some very famous) who can shred but I have never seen ANYONE who has what this guy does. I'm a huge Page & Gilmour fan but I'm sorry their bag of tricks don't go as deep as bucketheads does...granted this isn't the best example of "tasty" licks(but there are MANY to be found here)Buckethead is the most talented, diverse guitarist I have ever heard. Maybe over yer head

  • Right on bro! I've been playing for 7 years and buckethead is one of the few guitarists I find truly amazing.

  • @spatdrastik I would like to think that he is continuing the experimental work begun by Jimi.

In any case, Buckethead is such a fantastic guitarist (one of the greatest of all time and a favourite of mine, of course) and each of his notes is deeply moving. His music makes my whole body just shiver when I listen to it, and that, to me, is always the most important thing when I listen to such GREAT MUSIC!!!

  • @pfonyt that was the first I thought about too, Jimi.

  • @spatdrastik

    So totally true

  • @spatdrastik - every once in a while, I come back to read your comment, and I freak out. I love it. I am almost 40, BIG classic rock fan, and early metal. Rhoads, West, Iommi, Wylde.... but this dude, BH -- I just totally have a damn fit when I hear some of his stuff. It is like an intense relation. Cheers.

  • @spatdrastik I would have to strongly disagree. Yea this guy rocks. But you have obviously never heard of Joe Satriani or Steve Vai. This guys just another one of them. Fucking amazing though :P

  • @cj5jeep1 Sorry to disagree mate, I like Satriani and Vai too but they haven't got what Buckethead has on his music. He communicates feelings and emotions... he's just one step over them. Satriani's my second favourite guitar buddy :)

  • @spatdrastik Hey man I totally agree with your statement:) but since you said you're an engineer, which is what I want to do after high school. Do you have any hints and words of advice on how to get into it and make a living off of it? I'm going to try to go to college for it. It would mean a lot if you replied man...

  • Bahahahaha. I was thinking you may have atleast one ligitimate point that I could see in your little thesis about Buckethead, until you said "It's nothing compared to jimmy page" lmao! Yeah, sorry. He was definitely great in his time!

But that statement was so false and really just makes most people laugh at you. I think you seriously need to delve deeper into the world of music. You can clearly see Buckethead is very expansive in the world of music and theory.

  • There's a big difference between technique (yngwie, herman li) and soul (wes, hendrix, buckethead).

One day when you learn to appreciate music you might hear the difference.

  • @Jackrabbitschnip Are you a successful musician? I doubt it. Do you even play an instrument? Maybe, but can you play it well? I doubt it. Stop talking about things you know nothing about. Why are you comparing musicians? Let alone 2 totally different styles. Are you stupid or something? Music is made for listening, theres no competition in it. Are the things a tone def troll like you say supposed to be taken seriously? I cant picture people reading your comment all serious without laughing.

  • 0:00 - 5:25 blew my brains out. i felt so many emotions in this song

  • buckethead = legend

buckethead = top 3 best guitarists ever

    buckethead = soul

    period

  • yes he improvises all solos

  • There's beeing improvised in every solo but he starts the solo with an idea and far every solo he has some standart licks that he uses, most is improvised though

  • This specific track is called 'Transmutation 5 (Ascent)'. It's pretty much just the outro to Animal Behaviour. It's from the live Praxis album 'Zurich'.

  • Does he really improvise his solos live cuz that's what I heard

  • pretty much

  • sometimes

  • its kinda 50/50. some improv, some are the recorded versions. the improvs sound equally as good (or sometimes better) than the studio ones.

  • Forget what the other people said, he improvises his solos live every time and changes them as he pleases, the only reason they might sound similar to studio versions sometimes (which they never really do, though) is because he's using the same scale or pattern or effect.

We'll put it like this, he puts his signature on every solo and being Buckethead, a solo might sound similar to another at some point, it's just his "sound". It's Bucketheady goodness!

  • this is definetly animal behavior outro

  • isn't it warsaw ??

  • i hate how people heard Jordan on guitar hero and now they think only they can listen to buckethead

  • yes its so lame. i agree

  • LOL agreed! I heard Jordan way before anyone heard buckethead on guitar hero and I'm so glad I was exposed to him before all the hype.

  • @smpl90s that's good, but as long as you don't brag about it because the reason you listened to them in the first place [and it's obviously not for early exposure bragging rights] will be in vain/nullified, or any other artist for that matter.

  • im speechless.....he is the best player of any instrament in the world

he also is one of the smartest

  • One of the best solos ive ever heard.

  • Excellent song.

  • great guitarist and song

  • John Frusciante and Buckethead should start a project...maybe with danny carey from tool

  • This is godlike.

    Hails from Poland!

  • Buckethead doesn't wear the old KFC buckets no more, now he just wears a plain white bucket, if you've never seen him live you have to, if buckethead ain't the best guitar player out there i don't know who is, but he is probably the most versatile guitar player out there fo sho.

  • what show is this from?

  • g.d.

  • this is animal behavior outro right?

  • I think this is what the outro to Animal Behavoir was based off of....or the other way around.

I still wish they had the outro the Animal Behavior availible as a seperate song on Itunes....

  • why haven't i heard this piece sooner?

    great to collect thoughts to

  • I have been around the block... in the live music scene, not sex :)

I am must say you will have a hard time finding someone who can rip like buckethead live. I won't say should be everyone's favorite guitarist, but just go see him perform live... and you will understand the unexplainable hook and reel he has you on. If only for those two hours of pure bliss.

It is something you will never forget.

    Support Live Music!

  • @arum123456789 what you say is true. The same thing happened to me. Only i already thought he was the best b4 the first time I saw him. Only to find out he is 100 times better live. Trust me folks you never seen anything like BUCKETHEAD. Im hooked for life.

  • great song. if you haven't seen him live yet, you should go out of your way to see him; the music feel personal in a way.

  • unbelievable how bad ass this guy is; words can't even describe

  • come on it's just a song

  • no! this is art

  • really ? this doesn't aggravate you ? listen to the song then.

  • cool song

  • having fun yet? remember abilities.

  • very nice

  • praixs is bill laswells project

evryone seems to think its bucketheads project

even though ALL of the focus goes on him

    haha

  • this is an amazing song

    Go! Bucket! Go!

  • omg this is a freakin great song...

  • Every band does stuff like this... Look at Jimmy Page, his solo's always started out and ended the same. It does not mean that they are all the same and that they are lame.

  • No, everybody does not do this simply because they don't have anywhere near the talent.

  • you did not see the comment I replied to... Nice try though

  • Actually it does.

Buckethead is light years ahead of page. period.

  • congrats your the only LAME person on these comments

  • So much hate.

You have a point, however. So much of his music sounds the same, it almost doesn't have much variety.

    But...

I would care a lot more if every single note he played didn't sound so incredible!

  • @ Psycherz, even though your comment is four months old:

"So much of his music sounds the same, it almost doesn't have much variety."

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Do you even listen to Buckethead? He must have used every single music genre on his, what, 50+ cds?

That's not variety to you? By all means explain to me the definiton then, because if that isn't variety then I don't know what the fuck is?

  • Pretty much every single song from the beginning of music has a certain formula, verse-chorus-verse2-chorus-bridge-chorus-end or something like that, if buckethead has created his own formula of music why should that be categorized as "no variety" ? Sure, some of his songs include tiny bits that sound similar to another song of his, but imagine composing hundreds and hundreds of songs with an electric guitar, a bassline and a drummer and on top of that improvising every single solo live?

    Win.

  • @Psycherz How do we know you wont use google? xD

  • @kinobiheart

There are no lyrics, that's how.

No he's just an amazing player, in ways that I've not heard from other musicians. He'd be easy enough to pick out of a group. Even mixed up with guys like Satch and Vai, he would be easily picked out.

  • Isn't that Bootsy on Bass or someone else?

  • bootsy

  • no, pretty sure it's Bill Laswell.

  • nope

    this was praxis first cd

    and bootsy did bass then

  • no, it was Bill Laswell AND Bootsy Collins did bass on a couple of the songs. Also since this is track is live, it's Bill Laswell

  • Bits of it remind me of "Animal Behavior".

  • because it is :)

  • where do you get this cd?

  • this is the jam

  • very cool man . buckethead is cool , it's one of the few things that make youtube alright , for me anyway . like on the comments , i goof around a lot and do things annoying cause it's weird . but buckethead is cool . thanks for posting these videos.

  • love this song ... this is freakin awsome !

  • he slipped the animal behavior outro in there

  • ...I noticed no problems, nor did anyone else that I've met who have listened to this song. So, I would say that it's just you.

  • This was from a live album? Holy shit, this is incredible.

  • where the hell can i get this as an mp3 file? love this song freakin awasome!
