@HerveAttia I know it wasn't shot there. From what I read those parts were shot at Penn State. I'm not sure if it was one of the sets they made in the gym or not though.
The stairs scene (including the laboratory) were part of a stage lot built into an old gymnasium at Penn Hills near Monroeville (where the mall from dawn of the dead is)
Every major interior scenes were shot there excepted the mansion in Father's day segment which was shot at Fox chapel.
If you want to make a video about it, please contact me for i might be aware of some informations very usefull about it
@MrKoolmew Well, that's exactly why I didn't take a shot of the stairs behind the doors. It was just a normal stairwell that wasn't used during shooting at all.
I understand but really, you should have just to content the poor guys like me who will probably never get the chance to go there and see by themselves...
@MrKoolmew That's why I made a video. I wouldn't even think of filming those stairs since they weren't used. They're just random stairs that don't even look like the ones in the movie. I can't imagine many people caring about them at all. I don't mean any offense, but I just made it to show places that were used. Not places that are near the places used.
Awesome! I just watched the movie yesterday. Does the stairs scene was shot there or soundstage?
thanks for posting this

@HerveAttia BTW you have the best location videos I've seen. I would love to make some like yours, but I'm not too savvy with after effects.

I know what you mean but I think the main reason that drives people to visit such places is to confront their fantasy to the real world.

@MrKoolmew Personally I just like to see where everything happened and take a look at how it changed over the years.

Hello
Why didn't you shoot behind the doors leading to the stairs?
I know the laboratory scenes were actually a movie set but just to satisfy my curiosity I wish you would have edited it...
