I wonder who taught John James the technique of a stage kiss.. He kisses every woman the same dull way.. Ibet PSM dreaded their kissing scenes.. lol.. His acting style is really bad.. a good actor makes their character believable... No wonder they shipped him off to the colby's.. lol
and this man playing blake's father (who is only 7 yrs older than john.f)is making his death bed confession he makes no mention of blake's brother and here he comes out of the woodwrk the following season...wtf!!!
and if these fools knew from start that they were replacing fallon why would they keep showing flash backs of psm and have that dopey krystle give blake a pic of her....and with all the p&&%sy runnin around dever why the f&&ck would adam need to make a play for his brothers x-wife...how tacky on both their parts!!
I think Jeff needs to get over Fallon and quit sleeping with all thses women! And Alexis needs to quit trying to control everyone and concentrate on Dex! And Blake needs to encourage Krystal to pursue her dreams.
Oh my.....great, great scene between Blake and his father when they talked about the ferris wheel and then Blake took his hand; great acting by John Forsythe and Harry Andrews. It just doesn't get any better than Dynasty folks!
@13Filmrisse Tom was 90 when he died so that would have made him 25 when Blake was born. I dont know how old the actor was who played him but he could past him self off as 90. I feel back in love with DYNASTY because of Dianne Carrohl and I think have this tape on about 5 of my video I loved these scenes.
@seventeenboi Dominique was one of Dynasty's greatest characters. Superbly played by gorgeous, timeless beauty Dianne Carrohl. She was a Carrington, but was black; a multi-millionairre, but grew up poor; a bitch & a kind-hearted, loving family gal. Her fights with Alexis were the best of Dynasty's trademark catfights. I wish she had stayed on the show longer. But plummetting ratings slashed the show's revenues & the cast schriveled to Blake, Alexis, Krystal & nobodys.
@13Filmrisse Why was Tom living in that cess pool island of Sumatra? To be Blake's father, Tom had to have been what? 117 years old? Loved that Tom still admired Alexis & left her 1/3 of his $500 million fortune (although brother Ben would ultimately claim 1/4, or $125 million, from the estate). Giving Alexis even more money, on top of her Colby-inherited billions, ensured that she would forever be a rich, bitch that could give Blake everything he could handle, & then some!
Dallas was a very conservative, traditional based soap opera. Men were men. women were submissive, second class citizens and fought for their attention. Non-Whites were virtually non-existent.
It would have been totally unbelievable to have a Black person on Dallas as a major character.
I would say that when they developed the idea for Dallas in 1976/77, they were looking to capture middle america. A conservative democrat/republican audience with certain social values, eg mostly White americans.
Yeah., I really liked it... There was a scene in another show where the Denver newspaper show how much everyone got.. Yeah, when the will was divided.. That was cool.....
I'm glad to see that she was finally able to prove (in a round about way) that she's indeed Blake's sister. I also thought that there would be a cat fight between her & Alexis but they probably thought it wouldn't be proper considering that they were at a will reading. Diahann Carroll as Dominique was amazing in this episode. I didn't know much about Ms. Carroll before watching the show & now I'm very interested in listening to her music.
Can someone explain why Alexis is so upset? Why being the executor of the will is so important? it seems she doesn't care about the face that 1/3 of the money goes to Dominique, so why about that?
Because Alexis isn't executrix and she can't stand it that somebody else is.
Ben doesn't show up until half way through season 6. He was disowned by Tom because of his (i.e Ben's) part in what happened to his mother. (I'm avoiding spoilers in case you haven't seen this. But if you want to know what happened to Ellen Fallon Carrington, just holler)
yeah it shouldnt be a big deal about who hands over the money. it doesnt matter who the executor is, they cant violate the terms of the will. alexis was just being petty
i guess the main reason why bringing up tome carrington(blakes father) was to using him as introducing dominique to blake and confiriming him as his sister ..so they had to think making a story to show audience that ...
Can anyone please tell me how Blake's fahter suddenly became this wealthy recluse when in seasons 1 & 2, he talked about how Cecil Colby hated him being a self-made man.
Fallon commented on how Blake kept telling her how poor he was growing up and how his mother was soooo poor she made his own Christening robe out of lace by hand.
She never once mentioned spending time with "her" wealthy grandfather.
Please explain this to me because, as a viewer, I'm offened by this huuuge oversight.
I think that if someone were to write a book on the Dynasty continuity errors, it would be a fair-sized novel

@aloofbooks you have a point.
But then the same Dallas team created characters like Abby Fairgate (Knotslanding) who was virtually J.R's equal, so I wonder howcome?
I'm not a Dallas fdan so I don't know much about the show.
