I never really thought of the Gill/FF comparison lol. He does have that one move where he gets the wings and has the rainbow shit around him it reminds me of Sephiroth in FFVII.
I liked Double Impact more. The backgrounds are much better then 3rd strike (so are the ones in New Generation for that matter). Everyone always skips to third strike but the other two are highly underrated. I suggest checking them out.
yes bgut they are no where near 3rd strike there also pleagued with alphas text scrolling alpha backgrounds and q audio its 3rd strike was the first break away style wise to give 3rd strike its own personaly plus (having played both the gameplay level is no where NEAR 3rd strike as far as competion is concerned not even CLOSE. you should search some videos. if u dont know thats why we love it as far as it being incomplete that is its weakspot shared backgrounds ext.
Actually, the time to really take Gill out is when he tries to go his super move that heals him. If you hit him while he is in the middile of it, it cancels it, and leaves him weak for the rest of the fight. It also leaves him unable to use ANY of his specials because his super bar stays empty.
Excellent review and yes I agree Gill is cheap they should have just keep all the Street Fighter 2 characters and M.Bison should have been the last boss
You do know in this video you end up calling it 3rd attack, 3rd impact and 3rd strike?
About the meteors, its not like final fantasy 7 copyrighted or was the first ever game to use meteors I bet if you check some older games they might have used meteors before ff7.
Great review none the less keep up the good work.
To be honest compared to the difficulty in Hyper Fighting that came out on the anniversary collection, Gill wasn't all that bad. I admit but it seems like each time you fight him, he gets "smarter" even if you keep the difficulty on the same level, making him super annoying. Shin Bison on the other hand, makes me want to scream, lol. In Alpha 3, I tend to prefer X-ism (for Ken anyway) so it was not that hard of a transition. Overall, a good game and a great review, Magus.
Great review Magus. The Street Fighter III series is one of the most underrated fighting games in my opinion. I hope they put a couple of SF3 characters in the console versions of SF4.
By the way, did you notice that Hugo is actually based off of the Andore characters in Final Fight?
SF3 3rd strike is the best fighting game of all time.
Most agree it's the best 2d fighter, but I think it's the best fighter period. I could give a list a mile long.

IMO SFIII is the weakest SF game, still a decent game, except Gill.
