  • Thank you for sharing this, it's very much appreciated,,,,,

  • My uncle is in ther hose co #4. Life time member.

  • is that pulsing coming from the siren? or is it a horn?

  • I just looked at Lou was Chief in 1965. And also at the begining of this video the MMXXCCII jaz reads 1965 so that's when this video clip was recorded...Also note, Freeports water tower shown for a breif second in this clip..It's painted that old Led Metal Blue color... This is way before Freeport began painting the "water" paint shceme on their water towers..I love this old shit!

  • I love the model 5 siren in the begining! I hate that most FD's got rid of them! This was the good old days!! when was this? I'm guessing 1963? Can anyone confirm? I'm jelous! I wish I was alive then... Volunteering is no way as fun now as it once was. Long Island was a good place back in the 1950's and 60's.

  • My Grandfather is Lou Medaglia the Fire Chief mentioned in the beginning. I always heard the stories about his volunteer firefighting days, but this really brings to life what a tight knit group these guys really were. And it amazes me today that there are guys up there that still think about my grandpa. I love amd miss him VERY VERY much. He was a great man.

  • Those model 5/7s sound awsome! :)

  • This is really fun to watch. Got to love the vintage fire apparatus with the open cab. Also, this brings back memories when firefighters used to ride on the side and back of their trucks. Thank you for sharing this with us.

  • I thought that policeman would get nailed!
