After coming home from work today, I heared a beautiful sound coming from my sons room. It was this song, Today marks the day my son gained my respect.
I am a massive James Blake fan, huge fan of the first track I heard, measurements. Beautiful. all the stuff that followed was brilliant too. But this isnt measurements, its annoying, its harsh, it just sounds shit.
@JulianClumbsEar He's using blues progressions with some dissonant counterpoint: that is jazz. His up-beat syncopation is also a common jazz theme. You think that jazz requires horns and a piano; jazz is simply an embellished version of blues' harmonic and rhythmic patterns. What would you call this? stop being a T wat and give a real answer.
Indiestep, is this track released digitally?

Don't know that I've ever heard such distinct harmonies; this is pure jazz genius.

@ImPrblyRight do you even know what you are talking about? it's great music but still..
JulianClumbsEar 2 months ago
@JulianClumbsEar Yes. Grab a dictionary and look up the world "harmony." (psssssstttt, it's under the letter H). Got it?
ImPrblyRight 2 months ago
@ImPrblyRight i'm a musician.. i know what harmonies are, but you called it jazz and i disagree with that.
