  • this song is sexy......very sexy.

  • I'm from Argentina, and Roland Dyens it's the only man who capture the essence of this song. Sorry.

  • Nice interpretation congratulations.

  • trop brutal

    Ottawa, Canada

    Thank you for the video!

  • He is amazing!

  • Bravo!!!

  • I give you 6 out of 5! Bravo!

  • Beautifully done. Bravo.

  • El Choclo! The German version!

  • Wonderful !

  • freelancephotog: WHAT THE HELL?? what the f*** is feeling then?? this is an EXCELENT interpretation of the tango "El Choclo".

The head shaking shows how much he likes what he plays, NOOB.

He introduces a lot of more feeling with the head shaking...

  • O.O \o/ d+

  • Muy bueno !!

  • from japan, fantastic

  • I love it so much! 5*

  • Nicely played, but the silent and loud dynamics were confused, so, I think that it can be improved... still, good playing!

  • Froma Argentina, you play very good!

  • From de land of the Tango i said you:

    Fantastic, Wondefull, very good interpretation.

You feel Tango like an Argentino.

  • Ahhhhhh!!!! I'm yours!

  • powerful playing and damn what a fine instrument...

  • very good....

  • we just played this song arrangement in fine arts festival for band and we had a few fiddles and chellos, it was really fun. Your version is way better though lol, very nice, it has a lot of emotion in it.

  • hey, how can you play so loud?! Your guitar or your hand, has an incredible volume!

  • i think i like this better than r.dyens own version of el choclo. i really enjoy how the "milonga bassline" is so clear in this version. great job

  • @jcravn I agree with you. It sounds more like a real tango

  • @ancitobrian it is pure tango. here you got the original version from 1929.

  • @ancitobrian it is pure tango. here you got the original version with the orchestra frm 1929 /watch?v=oGurZz-eQzQ

  • The interpretation of Dyens does not have even a speck of stress. Dyens is completely clear in the beat, with no confusion or turbulence in the meiody. Roland Dyens sounds like I imagene a tree hears a subterranean river.

  • you've had lessons!!!

  • wonderfullllll

  • great

  • Wonderful !!!

congratulations from argentina, this is the feel of this song

  • man, you beat me. when i play el choclo, it sounds so dull compaired to this version. nice job!

  • This particular version of "el choclo" is very good for me, with the guitar skills is difficult to surpass the whole orchestra and this man did it well.

  • Good Job!

  • high 5 , good job =)

  • Excellent transcription and interpretation--one can feel the spirit of tango in your performance!

  • amca gitarın çok kaliteli; sende çok güzel çalmışsın tebrikler .; mekanın akustiğide çok iyi...very nice!

  • Wunderschön!Bravo!!

  • Excellent performance .... guitar master ...5 stars

  • wunder wunderbar.

  • wunderbar.

  • This is the Best I've seen playin'

the "Choclo" and I've seen a few !!

  • Beautiful!!! I love the tempo you start the piece at. It really allows for the slurs to be heard.

  • Bravo!

  • Beautiful

  • Excellent version , the sound is a bit agressive at times, an expressionist interpretation, bravo !

  • I would say his sound is too aggressive most of the time. The tango is not supposed to be a martial march-like type of dance--no matter how much ball-room tango dancers would like it to be. This version evokes the stereotypical image of the woman dressed in Flamenco (not Argentinean) attire clutching a rose between her teeth and looking vampiresquely at her partner. This is a caricature of Argentinean tango.

  • Tango is aggressive, it has power, and every sensual dance is like that, it has in his history even "la cumparsita" that was born in a military march in Uruguay so it can be martial march-like type of music, the sensibility of the listener makes the dance. Women in tango in it's stereotype form are like woman in flamenco, the difference is that the woman surrenders to the sensual hug and rule of her partner.

  • where can i find this piece?

  • I agree jcholling ..is not a good interpetation.

  • not a good interpretation

  • Rock on.

  • perfect

  • awesome

  • bravo!

  • wow, sound even better than Roland Dyens' version mate!

    Full of dynamic and energy!

  • Man, you have to stop drinking.

Good... oh yes, but nowhere close to Dyens.

  • well, sometime you have to just face the reality that some performers do manage to play better than the composer. keep an open mind ^^

  • Dyens arranged it for guitar, not composed it, but any rate, this interpretation is far superior. Another amazing Choclo player is Ricardo Cobo
