this is what happened to me:

1st time: i bought the pc version; said i need to have directx 9.0 installed, in which i do, i even re-installed it to make sure, uninstalled the game and re-installed that, still says i need directx 9.0, so i return it and get my full $40 back.

2. a couple months later my brother gets an xbox 360 and so i rent GTA 4 and when i try to start it up it says it cant read the disc, so i exchange it.

3. rent it again and it works.(FINALLY!)

Hey Guys, if you get an error with says that you need to clean you cd!. please do the following befor returning your game or smashing you xbox.

Buy one of those cd laser cleaners and run it, if it dosen't work with that try to clean your xbox chace.

go to your memory mark disck precc Y then do the following code: X,X,LB,RB,x,x then press yes

Gta 4 was really dificult to get in dubai!! they had banned it and the copies tat came out got sold like hotcakes.. i went to Virgin in Dubai and asked them to order a copy for me... first they hessitated.. then they gave me an address to a shop from were they get their games.. its in karama..
