i think it's a good homage but at the same time there's nothing new to this or exciting. you basically copied and pasted her video but replaced knives with laptops and egg beaters with booze. her video was a parody your's is not.
This is great! I'm disappointed to see some ignorant comments here. You used Rossler's device perfectly to examine the average college student. Great performance and video :)
I like how you're responding with a topic that's so relevant to many of those who would be watching Martha R's video today, and some of the items you use are quite brilliant. My criticism is that some of her motions don't seem very believable (much better toward the end, though), it doesn't have a very clear message as MR's did, and the bloopers at the end take away from the piece. I also agree with DrHaldirJones that it's perhaps a little too close. In general, though, nice work! :)
role played well...i just saw martha rosler's today in class and then saw this one. i like it, pretty accurate on the college life. specially when you threw the organizer out. So common to become unorganized in college.
Maybe I'm missing something, but standing their listing "signs"... not all of which can, or indeed do "signify" being a student does not really constitute the semiotics of being a student. Unless you're intention is to parody semiotics of course, in which case it was either too subtle, or too simplistic to work [for me].
